Chapter 108

EZRA'S P.O.V

The next day we all sat around the breakfast table. The girls talking to one another, completely unaware of what went down last night. I was trying to convince myself that what happened was all just a dream but Fredricks' confused face told me that I wasn't the only one trying to figure it out. His eyes cut to meet mine, the same confusion swirling around in his eyes that I knew was also in mine. The question of 'do we ask' resounded in my head over and over.

A cough made my eyes divert from Fredrick to Tegan.

"I'm sorry, is there something going on between the two of you?" She asked curiously.

"Huh?" Was the only thing my mind could think of responding to.

"What Tegan means is, are y'all okay? You both have a look on your face as if you have seen a ghost." Lucy spoke up, making Tegan laugh.

"Are we okay? The better question is, are yall okay?" Fredrick asked, addressing the elephant in the room.

"I'd say I was more than okay, I got dicked down last night. What about you T?" Lucy asked, making Tegan's face turn a bright red in embarrassment.

"I had a wonderful night." Tegan replied innocently.

"But that sleep after the rocking of my vagina was perfect." Lucy said, completely unphased by her openly talking of her s****l life.

"I slept rather well myself actually. I haven't slept that good in a while." Tegan responded while shoving food into her mouth.

"How does one sleep well when they aren't really asleep at all?" Fredrick asked, making both of their faces scrunch in confusion.

"I mean, I'm pretty sure I was asleep. I laid down, closed my eyes and also woke up the next day in the same spot. I'd say that's sleep to me." Lucy responded with a shrug.

"But you weren't in bed all night." Fredrick said, making her head tilt.

"You're a sleepwalker?" Tegan asked with a laugh.

"So are you." I finally spoke after listening to them all.

"What, that's crazy. I've never done that before." Tegan said, looking at Lucy.

"Don't look at me, neither have I." She responded before shoving more food into her mouth.

"I don't think it was an accident nor a coincidence that both of you slept-walked." I then said with a shrug before also taking a bite of my food.

"What do you mean?" Tegan asked with a confused face.

"I mean, you both slept-walked. You both went to the same place, like you knew what you were doing."

Her face turned to look at Lucy who mirrored her expression of not knowing what it was I was talking about.

"You both were in some form of a trance. Willing power or something." Fredrick said, cutting in.

"Willing power?" Tegan asked him before looking at me.

"It appeared to be some type of seance under the full moon. You both did the same things, said the same exact incantations at the exact same time, without missing a beat. And then a glowing effect was all over you both before it was absorbed." "I mean I did have a wildly cool dream." Lucy said, looking over to Tegan. "And you were in it." She said as she took another bite.

"I remember the wind blowing my hair around making me feel calm." Tegan said with a small smile.

"I don't know anything about the light thing. But I dreamt of fire. The way it felt when it danced across my skin." Lucy replied as she closed her eyes, probably remembering the feeling.

"So you remember parts of what happened. But what about the words that brought forth that energy you both absorbed?" I asked, looking between the two.

"Nope." Tegan and Lucy both said in unison.

I looked over to Fredrick as he looked at me.

"Do you remember any of the words?" Tegan asked.

"I mean some of them but not all."

"What were they?" Lucy asked next.

"Um, you both said something about, It's The Blood Of The Ancients That Runs Through Our Veins... then after that y'all said something about a circle of life before talking about the Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit bringing you power and keeping you safe but bringing you what you desire. I'm not sure the exact words."

"Sounds badass." Lucy replied with a chuckle.

"But it all had meaning. I know you were asking for powers and then that light appeared between y'alls palms and then absorbed inside you both. Do you feel any different?" I asked as I looked between them. "Nope, just really hungry." Tegan said as she served herself more food.

"Me too, I could eat all this food and still want more." Lucy then said next.

"More power burns more energy which can make you more hungry." I said looking over to Fredrick.

"I just don't get how neither of you remember it. You both said the incantation like a lot." Fredrick said, making both Tegan and Lucy stop eating to look at him.

"Sleepwalkers, what will you do?" Lucy said with a shrug.

I watched as they continued to eat as if what we were saying was rubbish. But I knew something was off. Tegan was acting weird, almost like I wasn't supposed to know what happened. Like she knew but couldn't say. After breakfast Tegan and I decided to have a family day, just us and our son. We rarely get time for only us, so it's always nice when we can. When we were strapped in the car ready to head out I brought it up one more time. "Tegan, I know you. And I know you're hiding something from me. What I don't understand is why."

She looked at me before her eyes cut back to the long road.

"She said that it must remain between us two." Tegan whispered while closing her eyes.

"Who said that, Lucy? Because as of right now we aren't even sure Lucy is mentally stable nor do we know if she is or isn't a danger to others." I responded angrily. "No, not Lucy."

"Then who?"

"Celeste, the Moon Goddess." She said as her eyes looked over to me. The same white shade as last night.

"You can feel it, can't you? The powers you absorbed last night."

"Of course I can. It was the moonlight powers. Her powers to be exact."

"So the Moon Goddess trust's Lucy?" I asked, still unsure myself.

"I guess, who am I to know who's worthy or not. I am only her servant."

"What do you mean by her servant?"

"A protector of this realm. She blessed Lucy and I so that we can hold the purity of her powers to bring him down for good."

"Why only you two?"

"Because we are the only ones who can. We are the remaining tribal wolves. The supernatural beings that were kissed by the moon to be her warriors in defense." "So what does that mean?"

"That means Lucy and I will put an end to his reign." She replied. Looking back at me, her eyes changed back to green.
