TEGAN'S

P.O.V

It had been five months since both Lucy and I had come into our newfound gifts given by the Moon Goddess herself.

We had worked relentlessly on mastering these abilities so that when the time came we were ready. Lucy wasn't nearly as frightened about the underworld being released as I was but she respected my decision to keep them contained where they were. The Moon Goddess told me we would be facing more challenges as the days progressed, as our powers manifested. She also said there would always be a need for balance in the world, but together we are the balance. I wasn't sure what she meant regarding that but took every word in nevertheless.

Ezra remained keeping up his side by training the Kingdom, including women and children. Although they were not asked to participate in this war, we needed them to be able to defend themselves if need be.

Elias was steadily getting older and the closer we got to him turning one, the more anxious I was becoming. He was now 7 months old which meant we only had 5 more months to prepare for Iblis.

I knew we had the upper hand but in the same breath he had unimaginable powers lurking inside of his body that frightened even me.

I had reached out to Helga on many occasions, praying she would understand the depths of his intent. So far all have been without a doubt, a major failure. No matter what I said or did, she didn't care. While we prepared for a battle, Cass was a hostage within Iblis's clutches.

Iblis made sure to give me weekly reminders of his captive friend by sending us strands of her hair. While other times a video of her.

She had been in his possession for 5 months now, there was truly no telling what all he had managed to do to her, let alone if she was even the same Cass we knew.

So many times I wanted to storm in and rescue her, it was after all partially my fault she was even there. But I was always reminded that he would overthrow me the moment I got there.

Iblis was centuries old with a lot of power. Not only that but his experiences and the time he has had to master his abilities was far more than Lucy and I combined. I was new to the life of having powers and my powers were nothing compared to his. Even combined with Lucy, I was still often frightened it wasn't enough.

"What's going on inside that pretty little mind of yours?" Ezra's deep voice cut into my never ending cycle of thoughts.

My eyes cut over to see his magnificent body glistening in the sun after his run.

"Same things that are always on my mind."

"We're going to win, I just know it. You've worked so hard and you've mastered your powers on levels I never imagined. There is no way that you will fail." Ezra said, as if it were that simple.

"Have you seen Lucy lately?" I asked, changing the topic.

"No, why?"

"She was supposed to meet me here."

I was starting to become irritated at her inconsistency. She had been missing practice recently. While other times saying she'll be here and ends up not showing.

"Call Fredrick, maybe she went to his pack to spend time with her mate."

As reasonable as that sounded, I found it hard to believe. Although she is fated to him, she also has this strong will about being her own person and not being tethered down. As far as I knew she is still refusing to allow him to mark her but has remained faithful. From what he has told me, she also refuses to live with him and states he needs to replace a mistress to take up Luna duties. That never sat right with me. No normal she-wolf asks her mate to mate with others. We were normally territorial creatures. However, since we unleashed her full potential, something has changed. Imagen would have never dreamed of acting the way Lucy has been. I just wished she'd talk to me.

"Yeah, I'll do that. Any plans now?" I asked, changing the subject again.

"Elias and I are going to tackle some pack business. Do you have any plans if Lucy doesn't show?"

"I guess I'll just train alone again." I said in a huff.

"It'll be fine, Red, she'll show." Ezra said as he placed a soft kiss on my forehead. "I got to get to the pack daycare to check Elias out so we can go have some father-son time." A smile appeared across his face at his words. "Don't have too much fun." I replied, jokingly.

Once Ezra had disappeared, I pulled my phone out, dialing Lucy's number. I heard a click but she didn't speak.

"Luc, you there?" I asked, but all that could be heard was music in the background. She must've answered accidentally.

Instead of hanging up I listened in. It was in the middle of the day. Where could she possibly be at this time with that loud of music?

Only one place came to mind, but she wouldn't be there, would she?

'I wouldn't put anything past her.' Gemma said, finally talking.

'Why do you say that?' I asked unsure what she meant.

'Lucy has a wild mind, taming her would be nearly impossible. I wouldn't put it past her to be in a place as filthy as that.'

The idea of her being alone in such a horrible place made my skin crawl. Fredrick would lose his cool if he knew his mate was there. It wasn't considered a night club because it was open 24 hours a day since it was underground. Finally I decided to go check on her myself. Soon I was at the entrance to go underground, which also happened to be the club's name. The Underground.

All that was required for entry was proof of being a super-natural. They only allowed humans in at night for the vamps, which humans had to sign a waiver before entry was allowed. For legal purposes.

The stench was already unbelievably strong as I made my way inside. Dodging the swaying bodies, until I heard her voice.

"Follow me." Her sultry tone made my skin crawl.

I watched from a distance, not wanting her to know I was here. I then followed. She was leading a man up the stairs to a secluded area.

"Sorry little wolf, this area is off-limits." A burly bouncer said, placing his hand out to stop me.

I looked around him to see Lucy seductively dragging this creature by his tie down the hall.

"What about her?" I asked, nodding my head in the direction Lucy had disappeared, going inside a room with the number 6 on it.

"She is permitted by the owner."

"And who is the owner?" I asked, questionably.

"That would be me." A deep voice said from behind. "Welcome Luna Tegan, I thought you'd never come." His voice sent a shiver of fear down my spine.

I whipped around to see the one person I never expected.

"Iblis..."
