EZRA'S

P.O.V

I didn't like where this plan was heading but it seemed as if fate had a way of laughing in our faces at what we wanted to do versus what was going to happen. I looked over at Tegan who seemed to be thinking deeply about what we could do. Suddenly the camera on Lucy shut off as she exited into the dancefloor of the club, leaving us clueless as to what she was doing.

"She isn't evil. She isn't going to go through with such a thing. She is your best friend." Fredrick said to Tegan. Although Tegan decided to not reply.

"We need to come up with a backup plan in case Lucy means what she says," Helena said, making Tegan snap her head in her direction. "You can't expect us to go in blindly in case she turns on you, Tegan." She then said after seeing the look in Tegan's eyes. "My mate wouldn't do that!" Fredrick then yelled.

"We don't know what your mate would and wouldn't do. Stop acting like she has given you any reason to trust her." I decided to say in a hateful tone to Fredrick.

"That's enough guys. It's not helping!" Tegan raged as her emotions overflowed.

"What are we going to do?" Fredrick then asked in defeat.

"We can either let it play out...-" Tegan said, which made King surge forward in anger.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT! You will not go into this blindly without a backup plan to keep you safe!" King and I screamed together.

"If you would let me finish my sentence I was going to say or we figure out how to trap them both to be safe."

"But what if Lucy is only acting her part to get our mother here so we can safely get her from Iblis's clutches?" Fredrick asked Tegan.

"That could be the case, but it also very well be the opposite too. She desires power and control. She wants to be the best of the best. I am not sure her intentions are purely to help me or help herself." Tegan admitted as she rubbed her face. "So, what do you think we should do?" Helena asked while Tegan stood up, now pacing the room back and forth.

"My mother controls Earth and Water. Which means her gifts can work against one another. But even more, I can take them both on with the gift of Fire. But if Lucy is also attacking me she matches my abilities having the same as me. We could battle all day and still never defeat one another unless one of us slips up. The downfall is Lucy has had plenty of practice to actually harm people with her powers whereas I have trained strictly to become better, never to harm." She said as she continued to pace the floor. "Then how do we overthrow her?" Helena asked the question running through my own mind.

"We don't." She said, looking at me. "I know you aren't going to like this but in order for us to win, I know what I must do." She said, now standing in one place not moving.

"No," I said, not liking where her thoughts were heading. "No, not happening."

"Ezra, if Lucy chooses to attack I need to think of a way I can take both her and Iblis down. If I am there, I can see his weaknesses. I don't see another way of defeating him if we don't know how he works."

"There are other ways. I won't let you be captured. He ordered a hit on your life. He wants you dead, Tegan, not a hostage!" I nearly screamed as fear took over my every thought.

"Well, then what do you suggest? Because I have very few plans coming to mind and we are running out of time before they get here." She said as if she had already given up.

"I had something made in case we were to ever need it," I said looking over at Helena. She nodded in agreement before I continued talking. "If Lucy was taken away once, she can be taken away again. I made Imogen's potion into a tranquilizer except we tweaked it to where it doesn't take away Lucy only eliminated her darkness. It won't all go away but enough to rationalize with the sane part of her."

"You're suggesting we betray her and tranquilize her?" Tegan asked with a surprised look on her face.

"Only if it comes to that. We can do as you suggested and see where it leads. If for some reason her dark desires overpower her love for you as her best friend then we tranquilize her so that we have time to knock some sense into her."

"That might actually work," Tegan said as if surprised I came up with it. "Why did you create it?" She then asked.

"I am the King and her darkness even had my skin crawling," I said truthfully." So I reached out to Helena for some a*sistance in case we ever needed it. Over time we managed to get it as close to perfect as we could." "And how do you know it works if you never tested it on her?" Fredrick asked next.

"It has the same ingredients as the potion her mom created. But this one has less of the root used that essentially takes the dark part of you away. We can't be certain it's perfect nor are we certain if it works. But it's the best option we have right now." I answered truthfully.

"Then we have a plan. We use the tranquilizer but only if it's needed. We don't if not." Tegan said before looking at Fredrick. "I know this is hard for you and if there were any other way I promise I would do it. But sometimes the easiest way is to take away that darkness. I know you wished that you could balance out her darkness but sometimes it's just more powerful. The tranquilizer won't hurt her so don't worry. I would never hurt her. But if it comes down to it, we will tranquilize her and I am going to need you there when she wakes up."

"She'll think I betrayed her like her mom did." He said with a tone so low it sounded like he was hurting.

"She will be able to think clearly for the first time in months. We aren't locking away Lucy, just the part of her that is unpredictable, the part of her she can't control. But we will only do that if she proves to us that she can't control it." Tegan said in a reassuring voice, making Fredrick shake his head in agreement.

"We only have a small amount of time before they arrive. We need to discuss exactly what we are going to do." I said making them all focus on the task at hand.

We spent the next hour discussing what exactly we needed to do for this plan to work if Lucy was betraying Tegan. It was hard to imagine her betraying us for the fact that she knew we were listening and watching. But at this point, we couldn't be too safe. Iblis had already tried killing me which meant he was on a mission to take us out before he even initiated war. And we were not about to let him win.
