Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 120
TEGAN'S P.O.V
I quickly glided down the stairs to stop her from whatever destruction she was causing. When I made it to the foyer she had one of the plant vines holding an innocent maid by the throat, her feet dangling in the air as she gasped for air. "Ahh, just the girl I was looking for." She said with a crooked smile.
"Put her down, Malicious!" I screamed, making her head snap to me.
The vine holding the maid up slowly untwined as it released its hold. Once she was free she quickly scurried off, absolutely terrified. "Why are you in my home?" I asked, even though I was fully aware of the why. I just wanted her to say it.
"I think you and I both know why I am here." She said with nothing but hate in her tone.
Lucy was right, the evil look in her eyes told me that there was no way she was the woman who did everything she could to protect me.
"You don't know me, do you?" I asked, a bit of sadness in my tone from her really not being able to recognize me.
"Oh, I do." She responded, making my heart beat erratically in my chest. "You're the nosey little girl my boss no longer wants alive."
"Do you even know why?" I asked, but the look in her eyes told me she didn't care.
"In the end, it doesn't really matter why. He wants you dead, so dead you will be." She responded with a shrug.
"WATCH OUT!" Ezra screamed a little too late. The vine she was now controlling came out of nowhere as it twisted around my ankle faster than I could even process it.
It squeezed tightly, cutting off blood circulation in the process.
"FUCK!" I screamed out in agony.
"Hurt's like a bitch. I know. But don't worry, it'll be over soon." She said in a calm and collected voice.
No rational thoughts were in my head, all I could focus on was the goddess-awful pain in my leg.
"TEGAN, DO SOMETHING!" Ezra screamed as he charged forward. Only for a rapid limb coming from an indoor house tree to push him backward against the wall retraining his movements.
"I don't prefer to kill those not on my list. But trust me when I say this boy, I will." Her voice came out even colder than I was expecting.
'FIRE. USE THE DAMN FIRE!' Gemma screamed in my head, surfacing for the first time since her snarky comment earlier.
I put my pain aside as the vine slowly crept up my leg, holding me tighter than before. I used my free hand to initiate a flame in the palm of my hand as I shot it downwards, burning the twisting vine. As it rapidly began to release its hold her eyes connected with me once again.
"I should've read the chart after all. But it gives me so much excitement when I have someone that is able to fight back. I like it when my hits surprise me with unexpected curveballs that challenge me." She said with a crooked smile.
Suddenly water formed in thin air as she pushed a cyclone at my flame. Immediately putting it out.
"Too bad I have the ultimate gifts that conquer even fire." She said with a laugh.
Little did she know, so did I. The burnt vine cracked as I kicked down, smashing it to pieces.
"Don't worry, there is more where that came from." She said as if I didn't already know that.
I needed to get this outside where I could use the elements to the best of my ability. Before she could attack again I rushed out the doors to the back side of the packhouse.
"Not very smart of you to bring me out here with all these trees, now is it?" Her vicious voice echoed into the juggled mess of trees.
'Where is Lucy!?' Gemma raged in my mind.
I had to control this alone. If I couldn't handle one person with only 2 gifts, how was I expected to handle multiple people at once? I couldn't rely on Lucy the entire time, especially when it was only against one person. That would make me look weak and I knew deep inside I was not that weak girl who was brought here a year ago.
"I like to think of myself as pretty smart," I said as I twisted my hands in a circular motion, manipulating the air to bring up the dirt, to keep her from seeing what was going on around us.
"Oh, so the little wolf can manipulate Fire and Air. I wouldn't count those as the best gifts to have myself but very intriguing indeed." Her voice echoed around me as the dirt coursed in a tornado-like funnel spinning around us both.
"It may surprise you," I said back with a casual cocky laugh.
"So what is your plan here, to entrap us in a dirt storm and hope it distracts me?"
"No, just making sure your focus is on me," I replied as I looked up to the moon shining bright in the sky. I raised my hands high in the sky as I began to chant some of the words.
"Earth, Air, Fire, Water,
Spirit, lend your power to me...
Earth and Sea
keep harm from me. Wind and Fire
bring my desire!"
"What kind of witchery are you trying to pull here? We all know tribal wolves are not witches. We can only manipulate the elements we are blessed with." She said with an amused look on her face.
She quickly threw her hands up as the roots of a nearby tree shot upward from the ground. I looked down from the sky as the light beamed down onto my body. Twirling my finger in a circle, a ring of fire now around us as it danced around the tornado-like dirt funnel that was rapidly spinning faster.
"I can just put that out with water, the roots will be fine." She said as they began to move upwards at a faster rate.
We locked eyes and a look of horror crossed her facial features for a split moment. I could feel the magic of the moon flowing through my body at a rapid speed. Her eyes told me she saw it too.
I put my hands down, the dirt falling to the ground at the sudden stop just as the fire extinguished immediately as if it was never there. Her roots stuck in place as I held them down with my own earth gift.
"What is happening, what are you doing?" She asked in horror.
"Putting an end to your madness," I replied as a bright light was eliminated from my body, making it to where she could not see a thing.
"NOW!" I screamed out as Lucy appeared with the tranquilizer gun, shooting the dart directly at Malicious. Her body instantly collapses as the effects of the liquid rushed through her body.
"Wha...What is... is this?" Her voice asked as she slowly began to lose consciousness.
"A cure to help you become my mom, Marci, again," I replied, making her eyes bulge for a moment at my words before she was consumed with darkness.
