EZRA'S

P.O.V

I was running out of time. I had to replace her before Iblis did to her what he had done to others, including her mother. All I could think about was how big of a trap this was and how I allowed it to happen. Of course, I knew she wouldn't listen. I tried telling her why I didn't want her to go but she insisted, with her gifts and her Alpha brothers, that she would be safe. Yet here we were experiencing what I was terrified of happening. She was stuck in this house with a man we knew about and was without either brother there to help her. I tried calling her multiple times but each time the call went straight to voicemail. We were waiting patiently for Helena to arrive so we could extract what information Drake knew out of his mind and then so we could locate Tegan.

"I'm here! I'm here!" She hollered as she approached the room. "I had to make a pit stop to grab some of Tegan's belongings so that I can do a locator spell once we have all the information we need from shit for brains over here." Helena said as she dropped some stuff on the table she had gotten from our room. "Thank the Goddess, he has been pacing forever now," Lucy said in a bored tone.

She may have seemed uninterested in her poker face but she was worried about Tegan like we all were. If she weren't, she wouldn't have gone through the trouble of torturing Tegan's family for information.

"Let's get started, shall we?" I asked, approaching the table where Helena had tossed all the items. "We need to replace her quickly," I said in a rushed tone.

"Ezra, I realize how time-sensitive this is. But we have to know what we are going into. I have to get what information Drake is withholding before we go after her. I know we have to replace her, that's a no-brainer, but we also need to know what we are walking into beforehand." Helena's soft voice said.

As reasonable as that is, King was not happy about this at all. He would rush into war with no information on what we were up against for his mate, just as I would. But I also understood that this wasn't just about Tegan. It was far greater than just her and I. Helena mixed a few ingredients into a small bowl before smashing it down. She then plucked a strand of hair off of Drake's head before mixing it with the bowl's contents. Once it was all mixed thoroughly, she took the bowl over to him. He tried shutting his mouth firmly, not wanting us to give him the potion.

"Open your mouth before I force it open by breaking your jaw. Trust me when I say I don't give a f**k how much pain you endure before you die today," I said hatefully as I could.

His lip quivered, making Darion turn his head to not watch. He may not approve, but he had no other choice after what his father had done. Darion and Drake were a lot alike whether he wanted to admit it or not, so watching his father go through this was a challenge. It could've easily been him if the tables had been turned and he had been offered what Drake was offered. Would he have taken it? Probably, which is why I knew Darion was taking it as hard as he was. Because they were one in the same. At least now Darion knows we don't tolerate those who cross us, family included.

Helena got the contents down his throat even through his gags. After a few minutes, his head began to sway back and forth.

"He is ready. He may not be able to talk, but go ahead and ask him anything. His brain will involuntarily show the questioner images and memories that relate to the question. Make sure it's specific so we get the correct memories."

I wasn't sure how this worked, but I had no time to waste so I jumped right in.

"When Trystan came to you with a deal to take Tegan, what exactly did he say?"

Drake's head snapped back and forth while he tried to fight the potion, but he wasn't strong enough to resist it. Suddenly, I was pulled into his mind. It felt like it did while in the dreamscape. I could hear and see everything, but nobody could see me. It was like I was actively in his memory, watching a play by play.

-I apologize in advance, my husband does not have the ability to speak. But that is why I am here. How could we be of assistance?- Jessie's sultry voice asked.

-I have a proposition I know neither of you can resist.- It was the same voice that I heard over the phone with Tegan.

-We're listening.- Jessie responded.

-I'm willing to offer a deal.- He said as he slid over a piece of paper.

Jessie picked it up and gasped.

-That's a lot of zeros. What could we possibly offer for this amount of cash?- She said as she looked from the paper to Trystan.

-I need his daughter.- He answered with a shrug.

-Done. Allie would be thrilled to be mated with you.- Jessie nearly hollered in excitement.

-I didn't say I wanted that mutt. I need HIS daughter, not yours.- He answered, making Jessie flinch in response.

-Tegan? We already sold her.- She responded with arrogance.

-I don't want to fuck her. I want her powers.- He said as his eyes shifted to a deep red.

-She is mated to the King of all werewolves, including you. How exactly do you expect us to double cross him and live to see that money?-

-Easy just follow my plan. Once the plan is in place, get the hell out of dodge. Don't return home. You can go anywhere. I suggest Maui but that's your call to make. You receive the money when I receive the girl.-

Her eyes looked over to me, which I assume was Drake, since it was his memory. She then looked back at Trystan before speaking again.

-You have yourself a deal.- Jessie said, reaching over to shake his hand.

I was suddenly pulled out of his mind and back to reality.

"Where is he keeping Tegan at now?" I asked my next question as he shook his head back and forth, still trying to fight the potion.

***

I was now back in a memory, looking down at a paper in my hand. It had instructions on what he was to do.

-Deliver the tote and make it seem like Marci's life's search to locate her long lost son. If Tegan needs help, get her to see what she needs so that she can locate her brother's childhood home. Convince her that he is the key to helping if she chooses not to pursue. Make sure she goes to the house and goes inside. Once she is inside of the home, the money will be wired to you. Get out while you can.-

***

I was once again pulled back to reality. He didn't have time to escape. Lucy had already taken them all hostage before Tegan ever even entered the home.

"She must still be at that house. It's spelled to hold her in. Which means we have to break the spell to get in. Lucy, make sure you grab Drake. I don't want anyone but you guarding him, he can't escape. Helena, please bring the other stuff in case we need it. Everyone else, let's go save our Queen." I said as I began to walk out the room.
