Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 133
TEGAN'S P.O.V
Iblis sat across from me, not saying a word. Only staring deep into my eyes. I felt like he was looking into my soul with how focused he was on me. I was becoming a bit uncomfortable. I knew he wanted my son, but why go through all this trouble to get me? I wasn't
the key he had been searching for, so why?
I looked over to see Trystan messing around with what I thought was a knife. He was using it to pick at his nails, like he was cleaning them.
"So he thinks his mother abandoned him. How convenient," I said, looking back at Iblis.
"That's what she did, did she not?"
"She made the choice to give him a better life so that he was protected from you!" I screamed in anger.
"Look where that got her. Speaking of good ole Marci, how is she doing?" He asked with a laugh.
"You should know, you're the one that ruined her." I spat back as hatefully as I could.
"Hmm. All I did was offer her a life free of worry."
"You tortured her. You fried her brain so badly that all she can remember is the need to protect a son who she never should've tried protecting in the first place!" I yelled as I looked over at Trystan.
He had his head cocked to the side as he studied me, not uttering a word.
"What, now that daddy dearest is here, you have nothing to say?" I asked angrily.
"There is nothing to say. Marci abandoned me, she didn't care. My father rescued me from arrogant humans. Simple as that." His arrogance was becoming infuriating.
"I saved my mother from the constant need of wanting to kill and yet all she talks about is you. Imagine that. She gave you away to protect you from becoming him and then she gave herself away to protect me from him, for a reason. At least one of us will honor her." His eyes told me that my words took him by surprise.
"And yet look where you are. Clearly, not in the same position or league as me." He answered with anger.
"Alright children, enough with the bickering. It's time we got down to the real reason we brought you here." Iblis interrupted our arguing, making me even more pissed that Trystan got the last word. Yes, it was petty to want the last word, but come on, he deserves a slap in the face for his ignorance.
'He doesn't know any better. He was 6 when Iblis took him in. Iblis and what he has said is all he knows.' Gemma said in my head.
I sighed out loud before looking at my half brother. I wished I had known of him sooner, not that I was in any kind of place to help him. Hell I was a damsel in distress not even a full year ago myself. But something inside of me wished I could've saved him from the life he had with Iblis. He seems well kept together, but people who have been through the worst tend to have a hard exterior to hide their pain. I would know.
"What do you want from me, Iblis?" I asked, although I was already sure I knew the answer.
"Your son. Don't worry, he will grow up to be every bit of a good man like his uncle." He replied, lying through his teeth.
My eyes cut over to Trystan, whose face was scrunched in confusion.
"You're a mom?" He asked, looking back at me.
"You had no idea of his true intentions, did you?" I asked, baffled at the situation.
"Why would you want to take an infant child away from his mother? Especially when you have no relation to that child?" He asked, looking over at Iblis.
"Do I ask why you do the things you do?" He responded with a hint of dominance lingering in his tone. "No, I don't. I don't ask why you sleep with women then hurt them. I also didn't ask why you insisted on capturing your own biological sister when knowing she could be tortured. So why ask why I do what I do?"
"He is a toddler." Trystan responded flatly.
"A mere body that will give me all I need as the underground ruler. You want that too, which is why you captured your sister."
"You said the key had to be sacrificed."
I sat there listening to them going on back and forth as I struggled against the chains with no luck.
"Did you think she was the key?" Iblis asked, amused. "Oh, I see. Jealous of the little sister for having a life and so you were willing to hand her over for a sacrifice, but now that it's her child, you feel some type of way?"
My heart felt as if it were being torn in half. I may not know him. Hell, I just learned of his existence. But for some reason it hurt knowing he wanted me dead. It hurt knowing that he didn't have a single ounce of care that his little sister, even if he didn't know me, was possibly going to be sacrificed.
"He can't be no more than two," Trystan responded.
"He isn't even one yet!" I raged in anger.
"He is a fucking infant! He hasn't even lived!"
How could a person not have a single care in the world for an adult human life, but when it came to a child, they fumed at the idea? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he isn't on board with Iblis's sick plan. But how fucked up could a person really be to have this kind of mindset?
"You were willing to kill his mother only a few moments prior. Taking her away from her infant son, just like your mother was taken from, well, all of you." Iblis replied with a laugh.
"How could you do something so heinous?" Trystan then asked.
"Because I am not weak like you. I will do whatever needs to be done to free the underworld! As my heir, their future leader, you should be willing to do what needs to be done as well. This is what it takes to be their true king!" Iblis screamed. "Killing an innocent!?" He asked with anger laced in his tone.
"KILLING ANYONE WHO STANDS IN YOUR WAY!" Iblis answered as he raised his hands in the air, making the fire from the torches rise with his power.
"What makes you think she will ever give you her son!?"
"Oh, she won't. But torturing her will give me a view into her mind, to see the easiest way to take him."
"You plan to do to me what you did to our mother to replace Trystan?" I finally asked.
"And you." He answered with a smirk. "I'm willing to do whatever it is that I need to do to retrieve what I want." He then said,
I looked over at Trystan, who looked equally concerned. When his eyes connected with mine, a hint of regret lingered in them.
'I will make this right. I will fix this. A sudden mind-link came through in his voice, startling me.
How the fuck was he able to mind-link me? We weren't from the same pack. Hell, he wasn't from a pack at all, so how did he do that?
