TEGAN'S P.O.V

One minute I was performing CPR on Novalee and the next I was being yanked out of the flipped bus by the hair on my head. What the hell was going on here? "Who are you?" I asked with anger laced in my tone.

"I'm the one who will put an end to the powerful Tribal wolf and her little family."

The mentioning of my family along with the phrase 'put an end to', had my entire body boiling with the overprotective rage I felt when it came to my children's safety.

"You are going to wish you never f****d with us!" I screamed while making my eyes flash between my normal color and the vibrant red. Power swirling around us, the color telling him that I meant business. "Op, I almost forgot." He said while taking out dust and blowing it in my face.

I coughed with the ingestion, a feeling washing over me before a stranger feeling occurred. What was this?

"An herb one might call it. It was given to me to enable your so-called goddess given gifts as the Tribal Wolf. A little gift from my employer."

Employer? So he was hired to do this? He was a hit man. And we were 'the hit'.

"Mommy, bad man! Bad man!" Elias screamed from the upside down door that was no longer hinged.

"Elias, stay put!" I screamed at him when the fear sank in that I would have to fight the old fashioned way, the powerless way.

Was he telling me before we even left that this would happen? How could he have possibly known?

"Look at me when I am speaking to you, bitch!" The man yelled as his hand collided with my face. My head snapped to the side from the impact. "Bad man, no hurt mommy!" I could hear Elias holler.

"You little shit, stop doing that!" The hit man yelled.

My eyes diverted to where he was looking. Elias was at his feet pounding his fists against his legs.

"I'll deal with the twerp first." He spoke moreso to himself as he grabbed Elias by the arm.

"LET MY BABY GO!" I yelled before trying to charge at him.

However, with the patroding metal sticking from my thigh every step that I took sent agonizing pain shooting through my body.

"Is the little Luna-Queen hurt? Is a little metal keeping you from saving your precious royal pup?" I could tell he was antagonizing me.

"I tect Momma! I tect Momma, dada!" Elias was screaming while dangling in the air by his arm.

I was afraid with any more movement his arm would dislocate from the socket.

"Let go of him, now!"

"I don't think you're in a place to be making demands now are you?"

I looked down at my leg, yanking hard. The metal came out, blood oozing with it. I needed to get up, to make it to them. To kill him before he kills us.

But with each movement I felt even more powerless. I mean technically, I was powerless. But I was also hurt, which was quickly draining me of all the energy I had left to fight. The blood loss was fighting against me, affecting every part of me.

"RED WATER MOMMY, RED WATER!" Elias squealed while moving around in the man's arm, all the while pointing at my leg that was now gushing blood.

Blood? Red water means blood? I mean in theory it made sense. Blood turns red once it combines with oxygen, then to top it off it is a liquid. So in theory red water makes sense now.

"Elias, kick the bad man in the no no square!" I screamed out, praying he understood.

I always referred to the private area as a no no square, it was the easiest way for him to understand what I was referring to.

His body started squirming again before his foot collided with the mens genitals. He let out a groan while falling to his knees, taking him by surprise to which he released Elias from his grasp. "Momma I deed it, I deed it. Kicked da balls!"

"Good job baby, now RUN!" I hollered when the man started to get back on his feet.

Elais immediately took off running back to the bus.

"No problem. I've already got plans for the bus." The hit man said with an evil chuckle.

He stalked over to me, yanking me from the ground by the neck. My feet were now dangling mid-air. The tighter his hand clasped around my throat, the more I was struggling to breathe. He was cutting off my air flow. I closed my eyes thinking about the first time I was choked.

I was only a child, excited about some stupid noodle project I had made for my dad. I ran to his office ready to show him, but he was not pleased. I glued macaroni noodles down on a paper, making a heart with mine and my fathers name in the middle of it. He was displeased and slammed the noodle work on the desk before yanking me up by my neck, bringing my face close to his. "I hate it, never do something like this again." He seethed before tossing my fragile body on the ground. Tears brimming my eyes at the realization that nothing I would ever do would be good enough for him.

"Oh is someone crying, I haven't even gotten to the best part yet. Watch this." The hit man said before lighting a match and dropping it to the ground.

"Watch the fireworks with me. Watch as the fire takes everyone you ever loved." His hateful voice said.

A sudden awareness of my surroundings coming back in full force.

NO! MY KIDS! MY FAMILY!

His hand loosened around my neck only to snake around my hair once again. Pulling my face upward to watch as the fire followed a trail. He must've laid gasoline down before yanking me from the bus. "NO!"

He pulled his phone out, recording the fire as it traveled at lightning speed toward the bus that had everyone inside.

"Proof, all members will burn to death, and for this one. Let's just say, I have plans for her. After I kill her friends and kids, I will do what I want to her before cutting her throat."

A flashback of Imogen came to my mind. I had hardly known her and she saved me. Taking the hit from Lydia which caused her throat to be slashed. The image of her small body falling to the ground. Watching as she bleeds to death. She saved me, and I had to save her along with everyone else. I couldn't let this man win. He was careless, he may have weakened me and my wolf. Plus gravity wasn't on my side either. But I was better than this, I was stronger than this.

"Watch them burn!"

"LUCY, FIRE, GET THE KIDS GET OUT OF THE BUS!" I screamed as the fire raced toward the bus. "ELIAS, RUN BABY!"

I felt helpless, my kids were in danger and my body was too weak to fight back. How had I let it come to this? “UHH!!"

"Screams of pain, a sound that soothes my soul." What the f**k was wrong with him!?

"TECT!" Elias screamed when a sudden burst of energy pushed out of the bus.

It was like a forcefield that put the fire out instantly. Did my baby do that?

"NO HURT MOMMA!" Another scream echoed out before Elias charged us from the bus. His eyes were a bright orange, a color even I had never had before.

He threw his hands up making a gust of wind form around us. Suddenly, the sun seemed less bright, the trees looked less colorful. It was as if life was sucked right out of everything around us. That was when the unexpected happened. "I'll take it from here son. Good job, bud."

A voice I never thought I'd hear again said. My head shot over to the direction it was coming from. And there he stood, in all his glory. Confident as ever.

Was I dreaming? Were we all dead? How was this possible?

"Ezra... Is it really you?"
