TEGAN'S P.O.V

My brain was working in overdrive. So much had happened in such a short amount of time. Elias has magnificent powers that I myself do not possess. I wasn't sure what they meant for us, or for him. He was a healer. The real deal. And this was his own gift, not borrowed magic from the Moon Goddess. Having that form of gift could be dangerous. I'd have to make sure only trusted individuals knew. If word got out that Elias could heal a fresh non-beating heart, then everyone would want to possess that gift for themselves. Which ultimately meant that we would have a target on our backs, forever. A target bigger than we ever had before.

Then there was the fact that he could be inside of alternate universes while also remaining in ours. A foot in both worlds and there had to be a reason for that. He was only two years old and I could already tell that he would possess power greater than Lucy and I combined. The only question was, what else could he do?

"Hello Luna, are you back so soon?" A voice of a guard asked, taking me out of my thoughts.

"Jim get medical, STAT, and Carlos, get Fredrick." Lucy hollered out commands to her pack members.

I was still standing there lost in my thoughts.

Ezra told me what Uriah had done. As much as I didn't want to believe it, I couldn't deny the fact that his recent behaviors were off. But why would Uriah suddenly rather us dead than alive? 'Not everyone is graceful with powers.

I agreed with Gemma of course, but Uriah still didn't peg me for that type of person. However, facts were facts, whether I wanted to believe them or not. And the fact was, Uriah put a hit out on us. "What's going on!?" Fredrick asked, rushing over.

"A man came out of nowhere, crashing his vehicle into ours, flipping us. In the process Novalee's heart stopped. I was administering CPR and suddenly all hell broke loose. Tell him what happened, T."

"Ezra came back. Elias ripped open wherever Sibil was hiding him. He came back to me."

"Right, but tell him about what happened, Tegan. He needs to know it all."

"But then Ezra ran away again. Sibil gave him ten minutes until she promised to kill him."

"Tell him about the pressing issue." Lucy pushed.

"HOW IS THAT NOT PRESSING!? HE HAS TEN F*****G MINUTES!"

I could feel my powers wanting out. It felt like I was an amateur again, unable to control myself.

"It's pressing... It's just not as big."

How was that not 'as big'? My mate, who had been missing for 7 months, was on a time crunch to live. Sibil dangled him healthy and alive right in front of me, just to take him away again.

Extracting someone's wolf was a death warrant. He wouldn't make it. There hasn't been a soul alive to tell the tale of the human side living after the wolf's soul was removed. We just couldn't handle it. But Sibil knew that. She was the one who created us to begin with. The one hell-bent on destroying what she caused.

"Uriah ordered a hit on us. A man crashed his vehicle into ours which killed Novalee. Lucy was performing CPR when he pulled me from the flipped bus by my hair in order to finish what he started. He would have succeeded if my son didn't come into his gifts and save me by ripping a giant hole in whatever world Sibil created for Ezra." I paused to let him talk but he was still processing it all, so I just kept talking. "Ezra killed the hit man. Elias used his gifts to bring back Novalee. Sibil gave Ezra ten minutes to run before she killed him by extracting his wolf from his body."

"Wait, Elias did what?"

"Out of everything I just said, that's what you replace pressing?"

I could feel my anger swirling inside. It wasn't Fredricks fault, but he just so happened to be here, on the receiving end as I relived the moment that will forever be etched into my brain.

"How did he...What did he..."

"We don't know. He put his hands over her chest and they glowed a bright golden color. It was bloody brilliant. And breathtaking to have witnessed." Lucy answered instead.

Fredrick's eyes scanned the area to make sure we were alone before resting them back on me. I could tell by his expression that whatever he was thinking about, would not be what I wanted to hear. "Spit it out."

His eyes were pleading with me to drop it. But I couldn't. I wouldn't.

"Just tell me!" I demanded, more angerly than necessary.

"Who all saw him do this?"

I thought about his question for a moment.

Me, Lucy, and I think that was it?

"Other than the babies and now you? Just Lucy and I."

"Let's go somewhere more private."

Maybe this was something bigger than I thought.

"Wait... Did you say Uriah ordered a hit?!" He then asked as we made our way inside.

"That information just now sinking in?"

"Who...How...Why?"

I knew the information was alot to take in. It was for me as well.

"Ezra told me."

"How would he know?"

"He never left us. He saw it all."

Fredrick looked a bit concerned before looking at Lucy.

"One minute it was bright. The next it was dull. Then Ezra was there. Like she said, it was as if he never left. Like he was stuck in his own dull reality, watching us. Super creepy if you ask me."

How was that creepy? It was comforting to know that he was there for the kids' milestones. To know that even if I didn't sense him, he was there for it all. It was also comforting to know that Elias had his daddy the entire time.

"So Elias's imaginary friend?" Fredrick asked, catching our drift.

I shook my head in response. "The entire time."

"And none of us knew?"

"Except for Elias. Hell, I'm his soulmate. We are literally bonded. Yet, not even I could sense him."

That wasn't entirely true. There were times I'd have this feeling of peace wash over me. A peace I only felt while near Ezra. But I was tired of all the pitty looks I received from everyone anytime I mentioned Ezra. So I stopped talking about him unless it were business related. "It's not your fault." Lucy whispered.

"And Novalee. How is she doing?" Fredrick asked, quickly changing the subject.

It was probably for the best. I could really be a Debbie downer when it came to this topic.

"Alive. The medics showed up and rushed her and the kids to be checked out. Novalee may have to be in the ICU but she is in good hands." Lucy answered for me as Fredrick led us into his office.

"Once we talk, I want you both checked out too."

"Sure, Alpha." Lucy sarcastically responded before speaking again. "Well,Tegan did get that dust sprayed in her face..."

"What dust?" Fredrick asked in a concerning tone.

"Not sure. But it took my powers. Completely weakening me."

His face switched between several emotions before he spoke again.

"Let's get to the big issue first, then work our way down the list of everything that happened so we can plan our revenge accordingly."

Revenge. A word my body yearned for. I wanted, no I needed vengeance. And not just for Ezra. But for us all.

"FUCK!" I suddenly screamed.

My knees began to wobble, unable to remain on my feet any longer. I could feel my chest constricting as the pain coursed through every part of my body.

"Tegan, what's going on? Are you okay?" Fredrick asked as he rushed over, but not before my knees collided with his porcelain floor.

I clutched my chest, not wanting it to be true. Begging to the goddess above that this pain wasn't what I thought it was.

"AH!" I screamed as another wave of the pain hit.

That was when I felt a snap just seconds before the pain vanished.

"What is it? What's going on!?" Lucy's worried voice asked.

"Ezra..." His name was all I could manage to say while I moved my knees to my chest, wrapping my arms tightly around them.

This couldn't be real. Please be a dream. There was just no way that this was real. Right?
