EZRA'S

P.O.V

I wasn't entirely sure what I thought would happen, but this wasn't it. First off, my mate could see me. Elias somehow pulled them all into this alternate universe, which in turn broke the seal. With every minute that has passed, the walls were crashing down around us. Freeing me once and for all. I was in the middle of snapping the hitman's neck when I felt something wrap around mine. I turned to see that Sibil was here, and she had her whip that had teeth-like endings. It hurt like a bitch.

I can't say my own personal hell wasn't only mentally torturous. She would randomly show up, threaten to hurt my family before cracking her whip on me. I guess she thought Kingston would crack under the pressure of being tortured. But she didn't know how resilient he really was.

The whip tightened around my throat, making me gasp for air as she hollered for Tegan to join us. She placed her wand to my throat, trying to make a point, I assume. Truth be told, I didn't even know witches still needed wands for magic, but here we were. The downfall being, I was now inside of her stupid protective bubble. The upside being, I could touch her now. Which meant that I could hurt her. I just needed to play my part long enough so that I could flip the tables.

"You can't kill Ezra, if you do you'll be killing yourself. Remember you're linked?" Tegan said, making Sibil laugh.

Her pleas were only setting fuel to Sibil's fire. She loved her prey to beg.

"Did you think that I spent the last seven months sitting back fittling my thumbs?"

Tegan's eyes looked over at me before gliding back over to her.

"The only reason Ezzy's body wasn't one of the victims is because of our link. I may have once been immortal, but something shifted in my essences when he bonded to the Alexandrite. Thus making me less immortal. Something I was not a fan of."" "So you can be killed."

"Could. Not can. I was using past tense if you didn't catch that. I always hold up my side of the bargain. I found a way to unlink your precious mate and I."

"I could've killed you."

"Well technically speaking, anyone could have. Hence this barrier bubble."

"I could have killed you this entire time, putting an end to all those murders. Putting an end to that dreadful curse."

"True. But remember, you also would've killed Ezzy here."

"Stop calling him that! He is not your friend and he is not a pet that you can nickname!"

"I beg to differ. He has been my pet since the moment I put him in this world. I was all he had. Well, technically he had all of you too. But I was the only one that could see or talk to him."

Tegan's eyes looked over at me, pain lingering in them longer than I liked.

"Hey, let's play a game?" Sibil said, bring the attention back to her.

"Fuck you!"

"Your mate is such a bore, Ezzy. Why did you even stay with her anyway?"

I thrusted my head backward, the back of my head colliding with her face. The whip tightened around my neck, causing me to feel dizzy from the lack of oxygen. But it was worth it if I made her bleed.

"That was rude. Anyway, back to the game. I am going to give him this elixir. It will then officially unlink us. He has 10 minutes to get as far away from me as he can. Let's call the game cat and mouse. But the twist is, if I catch him I get his wolf's soul. If I don't, I'll set him free." "What kind of f****d up twisted shit is that?"

"I call it fun." Sibil said before shoving the vile in my mouth, tipping my head backward so I drank it all. "Time starts now little wolf. Who will win, me or you?" She then said before pushing me out of her circle.

I didn't have time to attack her. I was too engrossed in listening to them. Why didn't I strike her when I could?

"Uriah ordered a hit on you all. You're in danger, seek help with your brothers pack. Don't stop until you get there, do you hear me?" I blurted out while looking into Tegan's eyes.

"But I just got you back."

"I never left you. I was always there. For it all. But right now, I need you to think of our beautiful kids. I need you to get to Fredrick's pack and protect our babies, do you hear me?"

She bobbed her head up and down in agreement while silently weeping, tears free falling from her beautiful face.

"Tiktok, you're at 9 minutes and 40 seconds now. Trust me, you'll need all the time you can get." Sibil said with a wicked grin on her face.

I pulled Tegan into my arms. The electric waves rushed all over my body. I then crashed my lips against hers. Savoring her taste.

"9 minutes and 30 seconds."

Tegan pulled away. Fear shining in her eyes before she spoke. "RUN!"

"Finally, someone with a brain." Sibil then said as I forced myself to turn away from my family.

"I love you. Always. Protect our family."

"I love you. Forever." She replied before I took off running.

Tears began to slip from the corners of my eyes the further I ran from them. But I couldn't stop. I couldn't think. I just had to get somewhere safe.

There was a bordering pack close by. If I could make it there, Sibil wouldn't dare cross into his land. Not in her condition. If the elixir weakened me, it had to have weakened her too. So, if I made it there, I'd be safe. 'Let me take over!' King hollered in my mind.

I loosened my hold on this reality to allow him to take the reins. But instead of him ripping free, I tripped and fell.

'What happened?' I asked as I jumped back up, taking off in a sprint again. 'Why didn't you take over?'

'I can't. I'm stuck. I think that juice is messing with us!'

Fuck. So it's up to me and my human form to get us to safety. I was fast, but she could use instant transmission. Which meant that she could vanish and appear anywhere she wanted with the snap of her finger. How was I supposed to outrun that? How was that even fair to me?

I wasn't sure how long I had been running. But I had a feeling that time was not on my side.

'Oh Ezzy! Come out, come out, wherever you are!' Sibil's nasally voice echoed in my mind.

Damn that family and the ability to get into people's minds! Novalee did that shit all the time as well.

'Oh come on little wolf, I only want to play!

Don't listen to her, keep pushing on. You can do it!

I have to keep pushing on. I can't give up. I can't let her win!

'Why are we going to the human town? Bold, putting them in danger!

The pack that I was running to was on the outskirts of this human town. All I had to do was get there first.

'You're moving slow for a wolf, Ezzy. Does that mean the potion weakened you too?'

So, now it's a fact. She was weakened too. Which makes sense why she wasn't using instant transmission. But that meant, she was also on foot. How far behind was she?

'Would you like to know my plans for you?'

There was more? I thought she was planning to extract my wolf. Which can go one of two ways. Extracting a wolf can either kill them, or erase every memory the wolf ever had. It was like hitting a reset button. Amnesia one would call it. It deemed you human. It was a punishment most Rogues got. They had the chance to be a new person, a human. Or the extraction killed them. Either way, the Elders were satisfied with the outcome. Even called it justice.

'What else am I to do? Your wolf isn't talking. Then there is Tegan, who still cannot uncover his hiding spots. So, I'm left with no other choice. I have to kill you. Maybe then when he is isolated and weakened I can get into his mind. Which is what I need.' Don't listen to her. Just a little further, you're almost there.

"BOO!" She screamed while jumping from behind a tree. "I win. But don't worry. It'll only hurt a little."

I finally allowed my mind to wander off. If I was dying then I wanted Tegan, Elias, and Irelyn's faces to be the last thing I saw. How was fate this cruel?
