EZRA'S P.O.V

I couldn't' wrap my brain around it. All I knew was, Helens was telling the truth. My mate and pup were in danger.

"Marci was pregnant with Tegan when I arrived at the pack. She knew her powers would be discovered and sought one day. She knew the safety of her pup was all she wanted. Marci ensured I was to take care of Tegan when she was no longer there. Marci knew she wouldn't make it. She said something about the birth of the next one of her kind could ultimately take her life. She said she felt the powers Tegan had inside. She asked me to do one thing when she was no longer on the earthside." She stopped talking to give me a chance to ask any questions. When I had none, she continued.

"She asked one thing of me. To hide her true ability."

"So, you're the reason she had no wolf?"

"No, that was pure coincidence, her wolf was there, she just never surfaced when she was supposed to. I was instructed to hide her powers so Helga would not seek her out. Without her powers, she would be useless to Helga." "What powers?"

"I never gave her the chance to get them. The abilities of a tribal wolf are endless. The main ones being the ability to manipulate earth, water, air, and fire. These gifts do not surface until the Tribal Wolf comes of age, that age being 13. I had been harboring her abilities since she was born, so none could sense there was power within her."

"Tribal wolves were legendary. I had never met one." I stated.

"You had; you just didn't know it. Once she was out of my care, the spell would have begun to slowly fade, allowing her true self to surface. I would say by now she has fully come to her powers, and they know it too."

"Why didn't you follow her and continue to harbor them?"

"Alpha Drake forbid it."

"But you're part witch?" I questioned.

"I am also part Wolf, who still submits to her Alpha."

"Your bloodline of being a child to the most feared warlock did not help?"

"Unfortunately, not in this case. Once my wolf was part of a real pack, persuading her to leave was hard, even with my magic."

"What does your sister want with my mate?"

"With black magic, the options are limitless with a tribal wolf, which is why they are so rare. Most of them tarnished when they were discovered because the witch who sought them out needed their powers to benefit them in some way." "And what will benefit not only Helga, but also Liam?" I asked, concerned.

"Power."

"It sounds like Helga is already powerful. How will this benefit her?"

"There is always more power to be given if you replace a demon that wants something."

"What does this demon want?"

"He wanted a tribal wolf's blood, but not just any tribal wolf, a pregnant one. At the time, Marci was the only tribal wolf Helga found. Now there is Tegan, but I assume there is more to this arrangement now that they have gotten the pregnant tribal wolf needed, because with this particular tribal wolf they managed to get one pregnant with the next heir to the werewolf throne."

"How does that make a difference?"

"They have a way to seek the power they want, but this also allows them to take over the kingdom to be the most powerful beings known. Once they give the demon lord what he wants, what they can do will be limitless." "And what does he want?"

"The dark arts book states: Tribus immola lupum. Sanguinem omnem haurit. Infans praecidet ab utero, Oblationem dsemoni exhibens domino. Accepta oblatio, quod petis, est quod accipias.

Which means: Sacrifice a tribal wolf. Draining them of all their blood. Cut the unborn baby from the womb, presenting it as an offering to the demon lord. When the offering has been received, what you seek is what you shall receive."

The blood ran cold in my veins. They wanted to sacrifice my mate and offer my unborn child to the demon lords.

"And what is it that they seek that would lead them to do such a horrendous action?" Tanner asked next.

I wanted to talk but the information had me speechless, I wanted to scream, cry, beg for mercy. Anything! They didn't deserve this. I would take their place if I could. But I wasn't part of this deal. I was nearly useless.

"That is what I cannot figure out. I assume Liam's goal is to overthrow the kingdom, rule the werewolves as such. But I am not sure how that would benefit Helga. This was not her original plan. She had other intentions, but with circumstances changing, the unpredictable acts of birth. She had to replace a new Tribal wolf. To which I am not sure how Liam fits into this plan or what she is wanting from the Demon lord herself. But this plan has been in the making for a long time." "So, what do we need to do?" I was finally able to ask.

"We need a plan. First, we need to get into their pack undetected. Find Tegan and get her safe. Next we need to take down Liam, all who follow his command, and then next my sister." "Shouldn't we take down your sister first?"

"She wouldn't save Liam or care about whether he lives or dies. However, he will save her because he needs her to summon the Demon Lord. It may be easier if we take them down individually, the weakest link first. Liam has others following him, not just his pack. We may have a better chance at secluding him if we strike those individuals first."

"I have no idea who is working for him. I knew he was bad news, but I never knew he was capable of such actions, so a close eye was never kept on him."

"Which is what he wanted. He didn't need the attention on him when he was formulating to take over. Not many leaders do. They have others working for them."

"Kirk." I said as the puzzle pieces began to fall into place. "Alpha Kirk and his daughter Lydia had been giving me potions to persuade my actions. I tried getting information out of him, but it was all a dead end."

"He could've been formulating a side plan if the one he and Helga were undergoing didn't work out. Then Tegan arrived and a new one presented itself."

"Here I thought he was eyeing her because he wanted her for himself."

"By the time you both were to be married, her powers were starting to come forth. Surely Helga sensed this. She may have had him checking her out for their benefit."

"I pushed her into his arms, exactly what he wanted."

"Alpha, Elder Jackson." Tanner said beside me.

"He was the one to free Kirk, made me reject Tegan, and send her to that hotel." Everything started to make more sense. He had to be in on it.
