Chapter 47

TEGAN'S P.O.V

I was being held captive, something I had not anticipated of encountering while coming to stay here. Especially the first week of being here.

"I should have got there faster." Lenard said as Liam pulled out a pair of cuffs.

"This bitch is always wanting what is mine!" Lydia roared.

"Last I had checked I was sought out not once but both times. Looks like you're the one unable to hold a man on your own." I spat out as disrespectfully as I could.

Lydia walked over to me, smacking me across the face so hard that my head turned in the same direction of her hand.

"Little bitch. Once I am ruling alongside the most powerful wolf in the realm, you'll think twice about opening that hatful mouth of yours. I should rip your tongue out right here right now."

"No harm will come her way with spillage of blood, we need it all." Liam said making my skin crawl. What on earth would they need my blood for?

"Right, she won't even be here to see me reign." Lydia said next followed with a laugh.

Whatever they had planned for me did not include me living to see it through.

"These right here won't allow you to access those neat little powers you have." He said as he shackled my arms using a key to ensure they couldn't come off.

"What powers?" I asked while spitting out with the blood from the impact of the slap.

"Ah come on love, don't act like you've been so discreet. All those early morning sessions out in the forest. We were watching you all this time. You were so focused on yourself you had no idea of your surroundings. All those festering powers, even more than your momma."

"Don't you dare call me that, you don't know anything!" I raged.

"Oh, you don't like it love?" His voice making my blood boil. How had I been so blind to overlook this flaw?

"Doesn't matter, you came running to me in the end. I didn't even have to push, not hard at least."

"Are you even my mate?"

"As unfortunate as it sounds. That part wasn't a lie. I am however glad you didn't accept the rejection from the idiot King. Would hate to go through another awful rejection."

"You didn't say anything about a rejection."

"I obviously said a lot of things that were not true. But don't worry, you'll see her soon." He said as he pushed me forward.

We had walked a distance before coming to a stone building, torches lighting its way. He escorted me down the stairs. The smell of decompensation, urination, and possibly even shit filled my nostrils making me gag.

"That is a smell you will come to get well acquainted with, so no worries. It will fade into a normal scent in no time." He said as he pulled me down the sticky hallway.

Everything was dark other than what his torch lit up; I couldn't see a thing. I could hear groans and cries of those who was down here the more we walked. They were suffering.

"Why are you doing this? What do you want with me?"

"You must have not made it to that stack of papers, did you? Nothing to worry about, you will soon know exactly what your roll in this is."

"I don't even know what this is!" I screamed wanting any form of answers, making him laugh the most vicious laugh I had ever heard.

"You will soon." He said as he unlocked the gate and threw me in. "Sleep tight love, I will see you soon." He said locking the door, leaving me cuffed.

"Are you not going to remove the cuffs?"

"And allow you the chance to use your magic? Absolutely not."

The light from his torch slowly faded into nothing as he disappeared down the hall. The kicks of my baby bringing me comfort. I didn't want to replace the gender out, but now thinking on it, I should have. I should have taken the opportunity to see its little face on the screen again, to hear its heart beating again. All the things I had taken for granted; I now had no chance to do again. Not while being held in these dungeons as a

hostage.

I still was clueless to what they planned on doing and how I fit into their evil plans. I knew one thing for sure, his target was the kingdom. I sat in silence, I am not sure how long, until a soft whisper echoed from one cell to my own.

"Is someone there?" The soft voice asked.

I wasn't sure if it were a ghost or a person, not knowing the difference yet. Either way the voice made me feel less alone.

"Yes, my name is Tegan Hendricks, who are you?"

"Lilly Hester."

"Liam told me that you were dead."

"I wished I was, would be better than the life I live." She said as a soft sob left her mouth.

"Why are you down here, what happened to you?"

"Liam happened."

"What did he do to you?" I asked.

"He courted me a while, he was a real gentleman. Then he asked my father for my hand. We were married that week, at first everything was amazing. Everything a wolf dreamed of it being with their fated mate. I was treated like a real-life princess. He always told me he'd make me a queen. I just didn't think he meant literally. I walked in on him and some random lady discussing the next step to taking over. When I asked what it was, they were doing he slapped me across the face for entering without knocking. That was the first hit of many. He soon would force himself on me even when I begged him to stop. When I finally had to courage to tell my daddy. Liam was furious, he attacked my pack, killing everyone in sight, burned it to the ground with that witch at his side. He said nobody could know his plans. He then forced me watch as he killed my parents, then displayed their heads on his own land. Which he forced me to visit every day to remind me of those who betrayed him. Wanted to remined me that my head could be up there if I wasn't a good girl. One day I had enough, and I tried to take my own life. But that wouldn't do, he made sure I was healed before he rejected me for being 'too weak. I thought it was finally over, I welcomed death, but instead, he locked me down here. He assaulted me again then chained me to the wall. He still comes down here to force himself on me, then beats me for not screaming his name in pleasure. I wouldn't wish this life on a soul. I am trapped forever." She said as more sobs came out.

Each word broke my heart even more. How was I so blind? Being around tormenter's my entire life, I should have sensed his evil heart.
