Chasing My Rejected Luna -
Chapter 75
TEGAN'S
P.O.V
Ezra and I had spent the next several days talking and discussing what had happened. We discussed our possible outcomes with what we could do and what we must do to prepare for what was coming.
Ezra had told me about the day I had some different form of possession. Possession was the only explanation to what happened either time, there was just no other way of describing it. Especially when Ezra told me what I did. I had absolutely no memory of what he said I had done that day. He told me that my eyes were red, making a shiver run up my spine from the possibilities of what that meant.
I wished he would have mentioned this sooner. However, he reminded me that I avoided him at every cost, keeping our talks minimal. He wasn't wrong, I had been doing that. The only reason we were conversing now was because I basically despise everyone here. He wasn't high on the list of likes but at least he wasn't as bad as these people.
"So when we get back home we need to really buckle down. We need as many allies as possible if we want to defeat someone as powerful as the Demon Lord himself." Ezra said, straightening his tie.
"I just wished we knew what he wanted." I said, buckling the latch to my heel.
"We at least know it may regard our son. That's better than not knowing nothing at all. Maybe Cass or even Helena will know some dark arts witches that are willing to help us look into the matter?" "Maybe." I said straightening up.
My emerald gown snugged tightly against all of my curves. I quickly smoothed the wrinkles when I had a feeling of eyes watching me. I looked over to see Ezra staring. He never turned away, didn't even try to pretend to not be looking. "You look absolutely stunning." He said, his stare made my skin feel like it was on fire with his gaze.
I couldn't say this trip was bad. I truthfully enjoyed his company. Especially since he wasn't throwing himself at me and was respecting my boundaries. We only had one intense moment where I almost gave into my temptation, but luckily that moment was interrupted. I'm not sure what would have happened if Allie wouldn't have shown up when she did.
As much as I despised the girl, at least it allowed me to not give in to the temptation that lurked whenever Ezra was near.
"Almost ready?" I asked, ignoring his compliment even though it boosted my ego more than it should've.
"Sure am, so is the little man." He said as he stood Elias up.
Elias had on the cutest little outfit. He was still too small for any formal wear but we had managed to replace a nice white button up shirt, some cute little slacks and a bowtie that made his black hair stand out.
A small smile tugged at his lips as he stared at me, making my heart clench in my chest at how adorable our son was.
'Want to make more?' Gemma asked in my head.
I swear her hormones have been off the chart since being so near her mate. I could hardly keep her erotic thoughts from filtrating my own. Choosing to ignore her I looked over at Ezra and nodded. "I'm ready." I said, grabbing my clutch.
Tonight many other Alpha's, Alpha's to be, and other Alpha heirs would be here to support Darion. Giving me the perfect opportunity to observe the applicants that do end up coming, without them knowing. Seeing them off guard will help me know what kind of personalities they had, which would give me better insight to who may or may not be worthy. "Let's get the party started then."
"I plan to scout out the applicants that come. Try not to wolf out and act a fool. I need you to keep Elias and not mention me being the Queen and all. I want to really see how these men are outside of the interview. I want them to be surprised when they come in for the interview, seeing me." I said as I started walking out the door.
"So you want to flirt with them?"
"I wouldn't call it that. I just want to mingle a little and if they flirt, then they flirt. But truthfully, I want to observe how they treat those around them. Not just with me."
"I can't promise that King will behave."
"Well, he better if we want to make the right call on the next Alpha. It's a big deal and I plan to treat it as such. So, no acting crazy or jealous. And I am speaking to you both." I said making eye contact to show how serious I was. "Fine."
"I mean it. That goes for you too King." I said, addressing them both so he understood I meant it.
"Okay. I get it. Use your womanly power." He said, rolling his eyes.
When we finally made it downstairs, the ceremony was in full swing. We were all waiting for them to crown Darion, transfering the pack to him before the reception would begin.
Shortly after we arrived my father got on the mic beginning the ceremony. He gave a speech about how proud he was to call Darion his son. The bitch in me wanted to come forward and tell Darion's dark dirty secret. But I wouldn't, I'd save that for when I really needed it. Right now is not that time.
They both said their vows, cut their hands and the shift of power whooshed around as the Alpha title was past to Darion.
"Everyone give a big round of applause for the new Red Blood Alpha!" Our dad yelled over the mic, making everyone whoop and holler for Darion. Aside from me.
Darion was the last choice I would pick to be Alpha. He would burn this pack to the ground with his stupidity. But by law, the pack was rightfully his. Although, I thought Fredrick would have made a much better Alpha. Our father's blinded stupidity didn't see the value Fredrick held. Of course, he only cared about the success of Darion. Although Fredrick wasn't treated like me he still was treated differently to Darion. At least Fredrick was allowed to be in Alpha training. But of course that was only in case anything ever happened to Darion. My father wasn't a total idiot, he made sure they were both trained sufficiently. But father alway overlooked Fredrick's accomplishments, while praising Darion for nothing. Darion could do no wrong. He also didn't know that Darion was a backstabbing liar who was f*****g his chosen mate either.
"What's a pretty little thing doing all alone tonight?" A deep voice asked.
I looked over to see the face of one of the applicants. It Appeared I didn't need to go searching, they were already flocking towards me.
"I'm enjoying the ceremony." I replied.
"We could enjoy it much more alone, if you wanted?"
Everything about him made me cringe with disgust.
