Chapter 587:

Clayton had never denied any of his requests before, and Wesley counted on that now.

This time, however, Clayton hesitated for a long moment before finally saying, “Dr. Mia is… not easy to reach. I don’t have her contact anymore.”

Wesley’s heart sank. “But, Grandfather, you gave her a lot of money back then, didn’t you? Isn’t she concerned about your health? How would you get in touch with her if you were to fall ill again?”

“Dr. Mia has a sharp sense for these things. I haven’t had any issues over the years,” Clayton reassured him.

Wesley’s heart sank even further. If even his grandfather couldn’t contact Dr. Mia, then who could?

Feeling utterly defeated, he left in silence.

Clayton watched Wesley walk away, his gaze growing thoughtful.

For the next two days, Wesley stayed in his room, not stepping outside once. Clayton heard of this and, concerned, came to knock on Wesley’s door.

“Grandfather,” Wesley opened the door, looking like a shadow of his usually lively self—his expression somber, his face pale, and his energy drained. Clayton felt a sharp pang of worry for Wesley.

His son had been reckless, with countless illegitimate children scattered around, and his daughter-in-law equally negligent. Neither had ever shown any real care for Wesley, leaving Clayton to raise him from a young age, always fearing that the boy might follow in his father’s footsteps.

But Wesley had turned out to be thoughtful and well-mannered, never causing trouble, except for the occasional bout of harmless mischief.

“What’s troubling you, Wesley?” Clayton asked, his voice laced with concern.

“Grandfather, I really want to help my idol,” Wesley explained. “She has an old injury, and if it could be healed, she’d be unstoppable in the competition.”

Clayton nodded knowingly, well aware of who Wesley meant. He had often heard Wesley speak of Rosemarie at home, idolizing her.

Clayton was quiet for a few moments.

“I’ll contact Dr. Mia for you,” he said at last.

Wesley’s face lit up with anticipation. “Really, Grandfather?”

“Yes. But all I can do is arrange the meeting. Whether she agrees to help is entirely up to her.”

“Grandfather, that’s more than enough!” Wesley’s excitement was evident. He already had a plan to convince Dr. Mia to help Rosemarie—money would surely do the trick. After getting the location, Wesley wasted no time and contacted Rosemarie, arranging for them to meet Mia the very next day.

The following day, Wesley and Rosemarie made their way to a restaurant, anticipation rising within them. After providing the code, they were ushered into an exclusive private room on the second floor.

The atmosphere was tranquil, adorned with elegant décor that exuded timeless charm. Wesley could hardly contain his excitement. He was about to meet the legendary Dr. Mia.

They sat in hushed anticipation. As the clock struck the appointed hour, a slightly eager waiter’s voice drifted in from the doorway, “Good day.”

“Good day,” came the low, composed reply.
