Chapter 588:

Both Wesley and Rosemarie turned their gaze toward the door, their hearts racing as they awaited the much-anticipated entrance of Dr. Mia.

At that moment, Rosemarie sprang to her feet, saying, “Wesley, I’m feeling a bit jittery. I think I’ll step out to the restroom.”

Wesley nodded, his own nerves mirroring hers.

Rosemarie was away for a moment.

Soon, she returned, accompanied by a woman whose face was covered by a veil.

The moment Wesley laid eyes on the veiled woman, recognition washed over him, and he quickly exclaimed, “Hello, Mia. I’m Wesley.”

Madisyn, who had come at Clayton’s request, hadn’t anticipated that the visitors she was meant to meet would be Wesley and the impostor.

“What do you need from me?” she asked, her tone frosty.

Wesley felt an inexplicable weight pressing down on him. True to her reputation, the legendary Dr. Mia exuded an air of formidable authority. He hesitantly began, “Mia, this is my friend. She injured her knee in a racing accident and hasn’t found a cure, despite seeking help from various places. I hope you can assist her.”

Madisyn turned her gaze to Rosemarie, who looked back at her with eyes filled with hope. “Dr. Mia, I’ve admired you for so long.”

“Let me take a look at your injury,” Madisyn said.

Rosemarie swiftly rolled up her pant leg. The injury was genuine, causing her discomfort on rainy days, though she managed to cope otherwise. In her last race against Madisyn, she had intentionally cut her knee to sidestep the humiliation of defeat.

Madisyn placed her hand on Rosemarie’s knee.

“This is an injury from five years ago, yet the pain still flares up occasionally,” Madisyn remarked with calm precision.

“Exactly. You’re truly a legendary doctor,” Rosemarie exclaimed, her voice brimming with admiration.

Wesley, overjoyed, added, “Dr. Mia, you’re incredible! Please, tell us how to treat Rosemarie’s injury properly so she won’t have to worry about it acting up during competitions anymore. Last time, it cost her the race. If she’s fully healed, she could compete internationally and finally take on those arrogant foreign racers!”

His excitement was palpable—he could finally help his idol. And if Rosemarie’s leg healed, she could lead their team to international victory, achieving fame and glory. Lost in his enthusiasm, Wesley didn’t notice Rosemarie’s subtle sigh of relief.

She had worried that Dr. Mia might see through her deception about the injury’s severity, so she had bribed the doctor in advance.

Suddenly, Madisyn tapped Wesley’s knee gently.

Though taken aback, he looked at her in puzzlement.

“Dr. Mia, what are you doing?” he asked.

Madisyn met his gaze. “How do you feel?”

Wesley replied, still confused, “Exactly?”
