Chapter 303 A Thumbs-Up for Him

Bella felt a complex mix of emotions, as if everything around her was mocking her situation. Strangely, she felt more guilty about her lack of attention to detail than Dominic's outrageous actions and words.

If only she hadn't gone to Felix's house that day, or if she had informed Dominic about it when she arrived, would things have turned out differently?

As soon as that thought crossed her mind, she felt a pang of self-mockery. The outcome had been inevitable from the start. Why dwell on it?

If he truly cared, he wouldn't have easily broken up over such matters and wouldn't have stayed so ambiguously involved with Gloriana. Bella didn't want to deceive herself any longer.

That evening, she prepared a lavish dinner for herself. Since she didn't have to work and tire herself out, she would feel restless if she didn't do something.

As soon as Lia walked in, she caught the enticing aroma of food in the air and hugged Bella tightly. "Having you around is such a blessing! I won't let your hard work go to waste tonight; I'm going to devour everything!"

Bella smiled softly and opened the oven, pulling out a perfectly roasted chicken that filled the room with an irresistible scent.

Seated at the dining table, Bella casually scrolled through her phone, receiving numerous. Merry Christmas" messages from familiar and unfamiliar contacts. However, the one message she had eagerly awaited was conspicuously absent.

When she opened her Twitter, she saw that Dominic had made an unprecedented update. He was currently in the prosperous Dusna, and his post included several photos featuring famous landmarks and a glimpse of Pudding, which indicated he wasn't there for work but for leisure.

Suddenly, Lia elbowed Bella, causing her finger to inadvertently tap the screen and give Dominic's post a like.

Bella's mood soured immediately. "What was that for?"

Lia looked nervous. "Remember how I deleted all of Leonard's contacts? That included the anonymous account he used to chat with me. Now, he's asking why I did it! What should I say?

Bella's mind was preoccupied with the thought that Dominic would see the notification informing him that she had liked his post, leaving her little time to deal with Lia's problem. She replied absentmindedly, "Just be straightforward and ask him what he wants. Lia composed herself and decided to confront Leonard directly.

Instantly, Leonard stopped responding, which fueled Lia's frustration as she angrily grabbed a drumstick. "Feeling guilty, are we? As soon as I called him out, he went silent! He's played me twice already. Does he really think he can return for a third time? Am I that foolish?"

She felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her as she recalled their previously flirtatious chats. She wanted to sink into the ground in shame. "I don't want to hear your explanation! You've gone too far! Is it amusing to play with my feelings?

He pushed his way inside, bringing a chill from the outdoors. "I'm not playing you."

She huffed, sitting down at the table. Embarrassed, she turned her back to him. Through that anonymous account, she had expressed deep feelings of admiration for him. She had never poured out her heart so earnestly before. Yet in the end, it all felt like a futile endeavor.
