Chapter 302 A Belated Christmas

Bella wiped her tears in frustration. "It doesn't matter who I believe. It's over. Understanding it won't change anything. That damned Dominic even had the nerve to give me a breakup fee!"

Lia burst into laughter. "Let me see how much he gave you! Money is money; the more, the better. It won't bite you! Figuring out those things can help you feel better. Even if you've broken up, it's important to do it clearly

When Lia saw the generous amount Dominic had given Bella as a breakup fee, her mouth dropped in shock. "Rather than a breakup fee, this looks like a lifetime support plan. Have you ever seen anyone give so much for a breakup? Even a scumbag like him has some decency, huh?"

Still angry, Bella felt her head buzzing when she heard Lia defending Dominic. "Enough! 1 don't want to hear anything about him right now. I just want some peace.

Unfazed, Lia pressed on, "Since you think he's with Gloriana, don't you feel a sense of competition? Will you just stand by and watch them get what they want?"

Bella pulled the blanket over her head. "No! I'm not Dominic!

The next day, Bella got up and was ready to head to work when the hospital suddenly called.

She thought it might be about urgent surgery that required her presence, but the hospital director's tone was hesitant when she answered. "Bella, you won't need to come to work from today onward. I truly admire your talent and hard work, but... I also have my difficulties.

"Please understand and seek employment elsewhere. I'll provide you with appropriate compensation."

Surprisingly calmi, Bella casually walked to the water dispenser for a cup of hot water. "This must have been Dominic's doing, right? I understand. Just transfer my salary to my account; I won't bother coming in to resign formally."

The hospital director seemed taken aback by her agreeable response and sighed in relief." Alright. Rest assured, I won't shortchange you on your salary. Thank you for your understanding."

As she hung up the phone, bitterness spread through her, and she felt as if she were ready to burst at any moment. Did Dominic not know how to leave with grace? Breaking up was one thing, but did he really have to make her life difficult too?

When Lia noticed Bella hadn't left, she walked to the door and asked while changing her shoes, "What's wrong? You're going to be late. Why are you still here?"

Bella forced a light tone. "I don't have to get up early anymore. Dominic played a trick on me, and the hospital fired me. I can stay home and sleep since it's freezing outside."

Lia hurried to open the door without asking further questions, quickly heading out.

Once the place was quiet, Bella's true feelings of sadness emerged.

She kept replaying her memories with Dominic in her mind. Perhaps she hadn't been attentive enough to his feelings, and now, she felt regretful and guilty. However, she couldn't learn some things without going through them. Would he care about her guilt? Probably not; he didn't even care about her as a person. His series of actions seemed more like he was simply bored.

It was an unusually sunny winter day, with warm sunlight shining all over the city, alleviating some of the cold.

Chap 302 A Betstol Christmas?

Feeling aimless, Bella wandered outside. Walking down the street, she noticed Christmas decorations everywhere and checked her calendar, realizing it would soon be Christmas.

That bouquet Dominic had thrown at Felix's door was supposed to be his way of celebrating

Christmas with her in advance...
