Crushed Affections (Dominic and Bella) -
Chapter 337 Let Her Starve
Ethan had never properly admitted his feelings for Bella and had only used his actions to show her interest. However, Bella couldn't be so narcissistic as to reject him outright. So, she could only try her best to avoid him.
The two of them slowly walked back to their neighborhood, but they barely spoke. Bella had never been much of a talker, and Ethan was feeling shy and reserved.
Suddenly, Ethan looked at her apartment building and asked, "Why are the lights in your home turned on? Did you forget to turn them off?"
Bella looked up and was shocked to see the lights on. She was tight on money and would usually try to save up on her living expenses as much as possible, so it was unlikely she'd forgotten.
She rushed back home and took out her keys to open the door. Immediately, the delicious aroma of food wafted over as her stomach growled in hunger.
Dominic, that bastard, was currently relaxing on her couch and using her laptop to watch his show.
Glancing at the busy figure in the kitchen, she didn't even bother to ask how he had entered her house as she went into the kitchen. She was shocked to see Sylvia there.
No wonder the aroma of the food smelled so familiar.
Sylvia gave her a smile. "You're home. Why don't you go wash your hands and prepare for dinner? Mr. Miller called me here to cook for you."
Bella felt a warm feeling in her heart. There was nothing more heartwarming than coming home to a hot meal after a busy day.
She put down her bag in the living room and was about to wash her hands when she noticed that Dominic's expression seemed off. He looked annoyed.
She asked, "Who made you unhappy? Were the women lan introduced to you last night not pretty enough?"
Dominic looked at her with a wry smile. "Who did you come home with? Do you enjoy the feeling of fooling around with two men?"
Bella paused momentarily. Did he see her walking home with Ethan?
She had no intention of arguing with him as she said, "We got off work at the same time, and we happen to live in the same neighborhood. Isn't it normal for us to walk back home together? As for your question about me fooling around with two men, I haven't tried it, but I could give it a
shot."
He couldn't control himself anymore and went up to her, trapping her in his embrace. "What did you say? Do you want to repeat that for me?"
She was currently curled up in his embrace as she said, "What are you doing? Let go of me. Sylvia's still here."
Dominic sneered and let go of her. "I'll arrange another house for you to live in, so you can move out of here."
Bella was dissatisfied with his controlling attitude and questioned, "Why should I? We've already broken up, so stop trying to control me. I think my life is good now as it is, so there's nothing for you to worry about."
Dominic was so angry that his chest
heaved heavily as he exclaimed, "Then why did you still sleep with me even though we've broken up? Didn't you enjoy yourself too? I brought Sylvia here to cook for you, so why is this the attitude I'm getting? Aren't you being ungrateful?"
Feeling guilty, Bella glanced at the kitchen before punching him lightly in the chest: "Can you stop saying such shameless things? I'll go wash my hands and have my dinner. I'm starving. I hadn't had lunch or dinner, and today was exhausting
For once, he didn't push her further. Instead, he followed her to the bathroom, and his tone softened a little as he said, "Can you really keep things up if you're this tired? Just come back with me."
Bella stood before the sink and looked at him through the bathroom mirror. "I'm exhausted, but it's fulfilling. Life isn't easy, and there's nothing that I can't overcome. I won't go back since I've made the decision to leave. "Why don't you just let me go and replace yourself a suitable match to start a family? We can't continue on like this."
Dominic's gaze darkened as he turned around and left. "Sylvia, let's go. There's no point in cooking for her anymore. We might as well just let her starve!"
Bella was speechless.
She was just telling him what would be better for both of them. Why couldn't he understand that? Once he got married, she would finally be able to stop longing for him.
