Chapter 4 An Unexpected Trip To The Airport

Elsa withdrew her hand in a huff and grumbled, “How would I know? She wasn’t here when I arrived.” Contrary to her expectations, the scene of a romantic reunion didn’t unfold. Elsa’s gaze dimmed with disappointment even as she leaned in to kiss Colton. An image of Francesca wearing the white dress flashed through Colton’s mind. His expression shifted, and he pushed Elsa away. His rejection puzzled Elsa. “Colt?” Colton narrowed his eyes, concealing his true feelings as he said lightly, “Don’t wear her clothes next time. They don’t suit you.” Before Elsa could say anything more, she heard him add, “You should go back first, and we’ll meet tonight at Midnight Bar.” She was stunned. To her surprise, Colton still didn’t make a move on her when she was throwing herself at him. Thinking about the image she wanted to maintain in front of him, Elsa could only nod sensibly. Before leaving, she deliberately let him see the heart-shaped birthmark on her arm. Sure enough, Colton’s expression instantly softened. Elsa smirked and turned to leave. The fragrance from Elsa’s body was so intense that it completely overshadowed the subtle scent that originally filled the villa. With a slightly serious expression, Colton went upstairs. Inside the master bedroom, the messy quilt on the bed had yet to be tidied up. However, the divorce agreement that was carelessly thrown on the floor yesterday had already disappeared. Colton casually glanced around, scoffed, and then entered the walk-in closet. He glanced toward the section of the walk-in closet where Francesca’s clothes still hung. Elsa must have taken Francesca’s dress from here. I was right; Francesca was just bluffing. Colton felt extremely bored by her antics and left the master bedroom after changing his clothes. He walked too quickly and failed to notice the messy bloodstains on the bedsheet and the bank card that had fallen to the ground. Colton lounged casually on a couch at Midnight Bar, which was filled with the clamor of music and dizzying lights. Elsa, dressed in a sexy, fiery red dress, leaned against him like a delicate bird, accepting compliments from everyone around them. “Elsa seems to have become even more beautiful? Indeed, happiness does make people more radiant!” “Exactly. Not just anyone can win the Best Actress Award, at least that Beckman…” A woman unintentionally misspoke, prompting her friend to pull her back, warningly. Only then did she realize her mistake, and she hastily apologized. A hint of gloom flashed across Elsa’s face, but it quickly disappeared. Pretending to be magnanimous, she said, “As long as we’re enjoying our lives, there’s no need to care about those unimportant people.” Charles Leigh and Jeremy Ziegler quietly approached Colton, grinning as they asked, “Colton, seeing how close you and Elsa are, does that mean good news is on the horizon?” Even though Colton was not yet divorced, everyone already assumed that it was just a matter of time before he eventually married Elsa. “Hmm?” Colton narrowed his eyes at his friends and questioned, “Are you in a hurry?” Charles said with a grin, “Haven’t you always thought that the Beckman family wasn’t good enough for you? Why should you suffer even longer?” Colton sneered coldly, picking up the wine glass and taking a sip. Jeremy, who was scrolling through his phone nearby, suddenly uttered a curse under his breath. “What’s going on?” Charles slapped him on the back and leaned in to ask. Jeremy glanced at Colton instead and said, “I think my friend saw said Beckman at the airport.” “Who?” Colton frowned, not understanding his friend’s words. “The Beckman family’s eldest daughter.” Jeremy dared not say it was Colton’s wife, so he could only use a vague title. Only then did Colton understand Jeremy’s cryptic words. His expression turned somewhat unpleasant. “What is she doing at the airport?”
