Divorcing Cheating -
Chapter 12
Chapter 12 Lied to Him
She knew I had no evidence.
I remained noncommittal.
Truthfully, I didn’t want to dwell on them any longer.
The best thing would be for them just to lock themselves away together.
I was here to network and didn’t want to waste time on them.
At that moment, Chris stepped onto the stage. “Thank you all for coming to The Walker Group’s new product launch event. I also have some exciting news to share,” he said.
After saying, his eyes fixed on me from across the crowd. His gazes were filled with an unmistakable intensity.
“Regarding my marriage…”
Sharon sensed something was off and grabbed my hand. “Tell me, if you and I were both hurt, who would Chris
choose?”
With that, she pulled me into the champagne tower.
Glasses shattered all around us.
We both fell, covered in broken pieces, getting cut.
Sharon cried out in pain.
Chris rushed over.
He quickly pulled Sharon up. “What happened!”
Sharon, covering her wounds, said, “Don’t blame Amber, she must be upset about losing Aaron.”
A shard of glass had pierced my leg, and I couldn’t get up for a while.
Hearing this, without thinking, I grabbed a piece of glass and threw it at Sharon.
Chris blocked it for her, yelling, “Enough! I know you’re upset lately, but is that a reason to take it out on Sharon?”
With just a few words, he was utterly convinced.
In Chris’ arms, she smirked at me as if to say, “Look, just a flick of my finger and she comes running.”
Instead of anger, I smiled and raised my phone.
Sharon’s face turned pale.
I turned up the volume on my phone as loud as possible, making sure everyone there could hear.
Sharon’s voice came through the phone.
“Yes, I lied to him.””
Tell
me,
if
you and I were both hurt, who would Chris choose?”
