Suri

Nightingale

My mom... she... she dated the Lycan King?!

That's the thought that's been running circles in my head for hours, and even when King Aragorn-no, my dad?-told me about how he met my mom, I still couldn't believe it. Hell, I can't believe I'm even a 'Princess', like pinch me now, I must still be dreaming.

But don't pinch me, because in this dream, my boys are fine, and I am just desperately waiting for the time when they wake up.

Keith and the King have been keeping me busy in the meantime, but the heartbreak in the King's face when he found out my mom was gone this whole time, I felt it, too.

I knew he loved her a lot, but their love was not... meant to be.

Star-crossed lovers, I remembered from the movie I watched before. The stars worked against their relationship, and though my heart breaks for my mom, somehow it still worked out for me.

My mom has never left me, not even once, since she passed away. She was always, always there, waiting for my fate to work its magic to bring me to Keith, to the boys, and now to him... to my real... dad.

"Nobody was 'too late"," I told Keith and the King. "It was just merely time for my mom, and I do believe that it was her that set all these things into motion. Everything happens for a reason and with the right timing. She always told me that, too." I said to them, smiling, but tears of joy began to wet my eyes.

"She always has been extraordinary," King said, fondness in his voice.

"Very," Keith agreed.

Two men she loved, and two men that loved her deeply. My mom was a heartthrob, y'all.

I chuckled internally, because, does that make me the same for having three boys?

"Nevertheless, I am glad we were all finally brought together. The Queen and my son are very excited to meet you, Suri. We've always wanted a daughter and-"

"Am I... staying here?"

The King tilted his head at me and I felt Keith tighten his hold on my hand.

"Well, I assumed so, yes. You are my daughter, Suri, and this is your home. You are the Princess of this Kingdom."

Oh.

Oh...

I was a little lost for words so I just kind of stared at him with my mouth wide open and eyes blinking.

Thankfully, Keith answered for me.

"I believe Suri is going to need time to think about that, and besides, her main concern as of right now is her mates."

"Ah yes, your three mates. Quite... interesting, that is. It seems you do have your hands full, and I don't mean to get in your way. Whatever it is that you choose, the doors are always open for you." The King expressed with a heartfelt smile and it truly made me feel his sincerity. "Thank you, King Aragorn."

He shook his head. "Just call me Aragorn, please. I can wait for when you're ready to call me your father, but in the meantime, Aragorn is fine."

I gulped nervously. "Aragorn," I said with a nervous smile, but saying his name did make me feel somewhat closer to him. "Thank you." "You are always welcome, my child."

Out of nowhere, I felt the urge to hug him, to hug my dad. It was a weird feeling at first, and it was obvious Aragorn wasn't expecting it, but it didn't take a second for us both to adjust and it was... something I would never forget.

I was beginning to cry, but was stopped when someone had burst into the room in a rush with an announcement I had long been waiting for.

"They're awake! King Aragorn, the three boys are awake!"

I forgot about anything and everything as I rushed to get to their room which was thankfully just right next to mine. Keith and Aragorn guided me, holding me on both sides while I ordered them to move faster.

Something about ordering two powerful men and them listening to the orders of a girl like me was definitely interesting to watch.

When the door opened and I saw Atlas, Wes, and Dev, the feeling was indescribable.

It was a burst of happiness, relief, worry, and so many more other emotions.

They were still fragile, as per the doctors, but their vitals were far more stable now.

I ran up to their beds, my eyes scanning each one of them to see if their injuries have been healed.

Atlas and Wes' burns were almost gone now, as if they weren't even there in the first place. The first time I saw them lying down, their eyes closed, and their bodies burnt broke me. I was thankful that we all had the ability to heal because if not, none of us would have gotten out of this alive.

But Dev... Dev had it the worst.

They had no idea he would even make it, but Queen Ariesa apparently did not stop until she managed to, for lack of a better term, put Dev back together. She stayed up for three straight days, only taking five minute breaks to eat and rehydrate, but other than that, she stood by Dev and made great use of her powers.

She saved him.

She saved all my boys.

I didn't know what to say. No words were coming out of me as I just cried. I cried so hard as I looked at the boys who were also somewhat processing things.

"Angel..." Wes was the first to speak up and I quickly rushed to his side, taking his hand and looking at him, trying to stop myself from crying, but it really wasn't working.

"I'm here. I'm here." I reassured him over and over as I stroked his hair gently.

He smiled as he slightly nodded his head, and I told him that he can keep resting. He quickly closed his eyes as he squeezed my hand just a little.

I heard Atlas mumble right after and I moved to him. He was all frowns and angry lines. Typical grumpy Atlas, but god, I missed grumpy Atlas. I missed all versions of him.

"What's... wrong..." He mumbled, his words slurring and I gave him a soft kiss on his forehead.

"Nothing," I said, shaking my head and smiling and crying. "Everything is right now." I whispered to him as I kissed his cheek and he nodded.

"Everything is... perfect." I told mostly myself, but Atlas heard it, and he smiled as much as he could.

"Go.. to... Dev..." Atlas suddenly mumbled, and my brows furrowed at him.

"He's been linking your name over... and... over... while we were... out... He... needs... you..." Atlas explained and oh my heart, it melted completely.

"Thank you for not leaving," I tell him with teary eyes.

"Thank you... for... staying..." He gave me a soft kiss before I walked over to Dev, my heart pounding like crazy.

My sweet Dev. My heart hurts every time I remember the sight of his lifeless body on the ground and the feeling of never being able to hold him again so as soon as I got to him, I held him as tightly as I could without hurting him.

We didn't speak because I don't think Dev could even talk yet, but hearing his heart beating normally against his chest was all the reassurance that I needed.

Eventually, he was able to say something so quietly I had to put my ear right next to his mouth.

"I heard... you... gave... your... blood..." He said, and I can't believe it's the first thing he says to me after almost dying.

I looked at him confused, but nodded my head.

He smiled and my heart skipped because it was that smile I had fallen in love with the first time I saw it.

"It means... you... are now... always... part of... us..."

I cry even harder because god damn it, Dev, you sweet and romantic little shit!

When I told him that, he chuckled but stopped when he realized laughing made his ribs hurt.

"Rest and heal more," I told the three and they all blinked their eyes at me in response.

"I'll be right here. Always."

They smiled and I knew in my heart that everything was really going to be okay now.

But at the back of my mind, I also couldn't help but think about what Aragorn said about this place, this castle, being my home, too.

When the time comes that I need to make a choice...

Which home am I supposed to choose?
