From Here to Ecstasy
Chapter 94 - Wolf or Not

Dedicated to oddball and N.Y.O.B. Sorry about all the cliffhangers (okay maybe not) lol. Anyway, I appreciate all the comments you leave.

Recap

Once all the bets had been taken the rules of engagement were laid out. I noticed the guy, one of Dean’s men, didn’t add if it was to the death or submission. I was sure Windy heard what he didn’t say, but she shrugged it off and got in a fighting stance, except she had made it look as if she was shaking. I wanted to laugh but stuck to a smirk.

The fight started and nobody moved. I could tell the warrior was waiting for Windy to make the first move, but I knew Windy wouldn’t. She had a way she fought. But, if she stood there for more than ten-minutes then she would hit you with everything she had.

I was getting bored and Windy was looking at nails as if she wasn’t in a training circle. I also knew she was aware of everything around her. I saw movement in the corner of my eye as the warrior barrelled towards Windy...

Sonny’s POV

When the warrior was about to pounce on Windy she turned her body to the side and kicked the warrior back to her side of the ring as she looked at her nails - never once looking up.

I could see the anger on the woman’s face, anger that would make her sloppy. Windy had embarrassed her and there would be hell to pay. The only person who would be feeling like hell would be the warrior.

“I’m getting bored,” Windy sang out as she cracked her neck. “Are going to stand in your corner or are you going to be yellow?”

And, there went the warrior’s control. It snapped as if it was a rubber band bent too far. All the control she had was gone. She was going to work using her anger as a beverage to fuel her indignation. She wasn’t used to being taunted. She hadn’t been in a long time. I could hear her thoughts. All she wanted to do is kill Windy.

I caught Windy’s eye. She nodded, letting me know she had heard the warrior’s thought process, too. I knew she could take care of herself but it didn’t mean I didn’t worry for my sister. I knew Star would keep level and help her with this fight. I had remembered her telling our mom her wolf was sneaky. Very sneaky. I couldn’t wait to see, but I would be watching for anyone to jump into the ring. I didn’t trust anyone as of yet, and I wouldn’t until I read their intentions.

Windy decided it was her turn to go towards the warrior woman first. I was surprised, to say the least. She usually waited for someone to come to her. I watched her run and slide through the warrior’s legs, slicing her thigh as she went. She had drawn first blood. But, Windy wasn’t giving her a chance to come at her. She flipped over the warrior’s head and ended up in front of her. Windy took her hand and hit the warrior’s throat and punched her in the nose. She stepped back and waited to see if the warrior was going to whine or fight.

I smelt silver before I saw her reach for the blade. I was about to yell out a warning to her but watched as Windy punched the arm that was reaching into her pocket rendering the arm useless.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Windy yelled. “Are you a wolf or not? If you ever bring a blade to a wolf fight I will end you!”

I watched as the warrior flinched. Windy knocked her down on the ground and grabbed the weapon throwing it to me. She knew I would catch the blade in my hand and render it useless. I made sure there wasn’t anything left of the blade. I had torn it little pieces as everyone looked at me holding the silver without filing or making a sound.

Fucking idiots!

I looked up and nodded at Windy as she pulled up the warrior and slapped her across the face - an affront to any wolf, especially a warrior. Windy was making sure the warrior knew she was treating her as a pup. I rolled my eyes and huffed quietly.

Windy picked up the warrior and put her on her feet. She looked into the warrior’s eyes and mind-linked the warrior. “Do you submit? And, are you under someone’s orders to kill me?”

I broke the compulsion the warrior had been under. Dean and Ruby had placed the warriors to kill or try to kill us at any opportunity they had. I made sure to break the compulsion on the rest of the warriors, making sure to break the ones of Dean’s too. I watched as they stepped back away from him as they shook their heads.

“Get back here!" His men shook their heads no. "Darla, end her!” Dean yelled out, but Darla bowed and turned her neck to Windy a sign of submission.

Windy reached down and pulled the warrior to her feet as she whispered to her. I saw Dean make a move on my sister. I moved as quickly as I could, not showing anyone I could teleport. But, Windy turned around and grabbed the bastard’s hand, crushing it and breaking every bone. Dean tried to punch my sister but she broke his other hand causing him to howl out and whine.

I moved to my sister and rolled my eyes at the idiot. “Got caught up in a big mess, did you? How’s this for a bigger mess, you will be jailed for the attempted murder of our Royal Beta. Your trial will be in two days.” I turned around and looked at the warriors. “I broke the compulsion Dean and Ruby, a witch, put on you. Who will help me take this piece of shit to the cells? The lowest level cells?” Four men beat the other warriors and bowed to me.

I told them to rise and I followed them to the cells. I needed to make sure I spelled the cell he was in. Windy came up to my left side, a little behind my shoulder. I nodded and noticed she had brought Darla with her. I knew she wasn’t going to punish Darla. It wasn’t Darla’s fault for being compelled, but it damn sure was Dean’s fault.

“Am I to be put to death?” Darla asked as she shrank into herself.

“No, Darla, you are not going to be put to death. This wasn’t your fault, you were under a spell Dean and a witch put you under. Don’t worry about the witch. I know who she is and I’ll take care of her very soon, okay?” Windy explained as the warrior woman, Darla, took a deep breath in.

“Thank you, Royal Beta. I hope you will choose me when it’s time for you to pick a warrior to guard you.”

Windy snorted, covering her mouth quickly. “I’m sorry.” She turned facing Darla. “I was thinking about needing protection and I was only snorting because of the thought of me needing protection is a little ludicrous.” Darla tried to control a snort of her own. “But, I would like to have you as my warrior.”

Darla gasped and bowed. “It would be my pleasure to serve you. I know I need to work a little harder to better myself.”

“It’s a good thing I need to have a sparring partner.” Darla nodded at her and put herself behind Windy a little.

I was proud of Windy for lifting the spirits of Darla and helping her train so she could better herself, but that was Windy. She was a kind-hearted and special person. She put others in front of herself and had always made the other person feel special. It was something she learned from our mother. I had a feeling she had always thought that way.

I remember as a child how Windy would watch what everyone else did around her. She would study their actions then copy them. Nobody had caught on but I did. I followed my sister around as if I was a little lost puppy. I was older than her but she was the one who was more mature. She never threw a fit but she had watched and watched. She was so quiet at times she faded into the background. Oh, she knew our parents loved her very much. When we went to school away from our parents our mom cried over her leaving and my dads’ gave me a stern talking to about protecting her, as if I would let anyone hurt her.

I pulled myself out of mind and made sure to growl at Dean as he tried to get away from the warriors. “Don’t move, Dean!” I ordered him as I walked around my warriors and got in his face, snarling again for good measure. “You will go into your cell and stay there. I don’t care if you try to escape or the area is burning, you will stay in your cell, Dean!” I ordered him as I walked to one of the cells in the lowest level of the cells and opened the door.

I watched as he walked into the cell, trying to fight my order. I growled and slammed the cell door shut and locked it. I knew the cells were silver and I was getting strange looks from my warriors but I didn’t care.

I felt Windy walk up to me as her warrior walked behind her. She laid her hand on my arm, calming me instantly. We both sealed the door on his cell as well as the walls and ceiling, our magic being the strongest it had ever been. We spelled Dean from talking or calling out to his daughter.

I turned around and looked at the warriors. I could tell something wasn’t right. About six of them were staring off into the cells to our right. “What’s going on?”

A/N: Sorry about another cliffhanger but I can't help it at times. The chapter just seems to flow that way. It's a longer chapter at least.
