Naylor was still in mid-technical spiel on the other side, but Agnes couldn't absorb a single word.

The truth was too horrifying, and she knew in her gut that Laura was involved.

It could even be a case of murder for hire.

Agnes' heart went stone cold.

She had thought that even if Laura and her father lacked affection for each other, they had at least shared a home and a bed for many years.

They even had a child together.

When Laura had hooked up with Berlin while her father was on his deathbed, Agnes had already deemed her heartless.

But she hadn't expected Laura to be not only heartless but a murder as well.

Agnes made up her mind.

If Laura was truly behind all this, she would make her pay in blood.

Agnes stood frozen in place for a long time.

There were several luxury cars in the garage.

Preston, her father, had had a hobby of collecting vintage vehicles.

Naylor hadn't noticed the change in Agnes' expression, his attention already diverted.

"Agnes, this car is a beauty, seems like a limited edition Ferrari from '08..."

Naylor was always excited when it came to cars.

Agnes had lost all interest, "If you like it, I'll give you one."

Naylor was overjoyed, like a kid who had just been given candy.

He picked one instantly and drove off.

And after leaving the mansion, he was nowhere to be found.

Agnes knew he was a car enthusiast, and he would probably spend the night with his new love.

He was an adult, after all, so Agnes wasn't overly worried about him.

Agnes' mind was in disarray.

She took the elevator from the basement.

She wanted to return to her room and sort out her thoughts.

Even though four years had passed, Agnes' sorrow, anger, and shock hadn't diminished at all.

Her father's death was not an accident, she couldn't accept that.

But right now, Agnes still wasn't sure whether Laura or Berlin was behind this.

Or if they were in this together.

Agnes would have to replace out.

When she entered her bedroom, she was taken aback.

Jared Whitfield was actually in her room.

One side of the room was a floor-to-ceiling window.

And at that moment, Jared was standing by it, on a call.

Jared's voice, devoid of its usual harshness, was gentle and soothing, "Don't overthink it, and take care of yourself. If you need anything, let Leo know. I'll look into those photos, don't worry. I promise no media will dare to publish them..."

Agnes understood immediately, Jared was on the phone with the young actress, Sharon...

Ever since he came back, whenever he faced Agnes, he looked like he wanted to strangle her.

Agnes had never seen him speak so kindly and soothingly to someone.

She didn't know how she felt. She stood at the door for a long time.

Jared finally hung up and turned around.

When he saw Agnes standing at the door, he was slightly taken aback.

But then, the warmth in his eyes immediately turned icy cold.

He mocked her cynically, "So, you've already finished? Seems like the young studs these days aren't that great."

Agnes finally understood why Jared hadn't left yet.

He stayed to provoke her, poke at her wounds, and pick a fight with her.

But right now, Agnes really didn't have the energy.

Agnes walked over, looking at Jared listlessly, "I'm begging you, can you just disappear from my sight? I need some time alone."
