Tristan and his son, Casper, seemed to stir up half of the gossip in Falconridge.

Why did Tristan suddenly come back? Was it because Jeffrey was buried today? Some kind of tradition, maybe?

Eliza watched as Tristan got out of the car, walked around to the other side, and opened the door for a young, attractive woman. He wrapped an arm around her waist, laughing and chatting as they went inside.

Seriously? Jeffrey had just passed away, and he was already bringing a woman home. Was he out of his mind?

As the lights in the mansion's living room flicked on, the half-asleep members of the Welton family started coming downstairs, one by one.

"You couldn't sleep, or did you all get up just for this?" Tristan, a bit tipsy and full of swagger, introduced the woman while holding her close. "Everyone, meet Lola, my sweetheart. She'll be staying with us tonight. No objections, right?"

Caroline thought Tristan was nuts. Jeffrey was just buried today, and he was pulling this stunt?

"You are bringing your mistress today of all days? Are you trying to disgust us?"

Tristan's face darkened. "What are you talking about? Lola is very well-behaved. Your mother is my lawful wife, Mrs. Welton. No one can take her place. Lola isn't competing for anything, right Lola?" Lola smiled softly, her red lips seductive, completely captivating Tristan. Caroline was fuming.

Audrey stayed calm. She knew the day someone would officially enter their lives would come, but she hadn't expected it so soon.

"Tell her to leave," Casper spoke up.

Tristan, with blurry vision, laughed at his son's demand. "To where? My son, aren't you the one who's been flaunting a mistress? You bring her wherever you go. And now you think I'm doing something wrong? Aren't you funny?"

This was indeed a slap in the face. Eliza couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Casper was just being ridiculous, criticizing his own father while being no better himself. They were all just rotten to the core. No one was superior to the other.

"Take her and get out, you hear me?"

Casper's anger was menacing. Whenever he got angry, even Tristan would be afraid.

The young woman trembled in fear. "Tristan, maybe I should just leave."

"What are you afraid of? I'm his father."

Tristan, holding the woman by the shoulder, prepared to go upstairs Casper kicked a nearby chair, sending it flying halfway across the room. The sound was immense, making everyone's scalp tingle.

"I said take her and leave. Can't you understand plain English?"

"Tristan, why don't you come with me, and we'll come back another day," the young woman said, her legs weak with fear. Casper's display of strength was terrifying.

Tristan was embarrassed but

unwilling to escalate things further.

He conceded, "We'll come back

another day then. I won't argue with

yousin

you in the middle of the night."

Tristan left, cursing under his breath.

Audrey watched her son for a long time. Complicated feelings filled her eyes, unreadable to anyone.

"I truly hope the Welton family doesn't see another Tristan."

Her voice was soft, almost weightless, yet each word struck deep in everyone's heart. Caroline, equally disappointed, glanced at Casper and then helped Audrey upstairs.

Eliza glanced at the time; it was almost 3 AM. After the episode, everyone returned to their rooms. That night, Eliza and Casper shared a bed. He tossed and turned all night.
