Chapter 615: Two hands can't hold you, let alone lead you.

With Zane's sincere attitude, Yanis couldn't help but chuckle. "I want to eat hot pot."

"Okay," Zane replied.

Zane rarely ate these things before, but now he was willing to try them out for Yanis. Especially when he was with Yanis, many things that Zane thought were difficult to accept weren't as bad as he imagined. Yanis actually wanted to eat hot pot before, but Bonnie suddenly fell ill and there were a lot of things going on during this time period, so they never got around to it. Yanis didn't expect Zane would go with her for hot pot.

When they parked the car in front of the restaurant, Yanis still looked at Zane's face and said: "Do you really want to go with me for hot pot? Should we try something else?"

Zane said: "No need. Let's go inside."

Seeing that he wasn't being rejected by him, Yanis went inside together with him.

They ordered a split-pot dish since Yanis liked spicy food a bit more than him and chose one that was mildly spicy. They had been here before with Bonnie and Stella; the taste was good and the service was great too.

The two talked like friends about easy topics while eating their meal together. After eating quite a bit of food though, Yanis sat there, not wanting to move at all.

Zane didn't urge her on since they hadn't spent much time alone together these past few days, so now that there was an opportunity like this, he naturally wouldn't easily let it slip away from his grasp.

After quite some time, it was already close 9pm when they left the restaurant; they had eaten for almost an hour or so by then already anyway. The commercial center was located behind the hotpot restaurant. "Yanis, do you want to take a look around?"

Yanis hesitated briefly, then said: "Sure, let's walk off our meal."

Zanel nodded in agreement, following closely to her.

Several times throughout their stroll through various shops within the mall complex, Zanel wanted to hold Yanis' hand, but restrained himself each time halfway through reaching out his hand towards hers. Yani noticed this behavior from him. Whilst waiting for the elevator, she placed her hand on top of his.

Zanel felt it immediately, and looked over at Yanis. He took a deep breath before summoning upthe courage to pull her hand into his own.

Yanis didn't say anything.

She whispered softly after they stepped onto the second floor, "Friends can hold hands too."

After hearing what Yani said, Zanel glanced at her face, and then looked down at their intertwined hands again. Just as Zane was about to say something, Yanis' voice rang out again. "But I haven't held hands with Ivan or Iris."

Zane's brow furrowed slightly as he tightened his grip on Yanis' hand. "I'm the exception."

Yanis made a sound of agreement. "I know."

The two didn't say much after that, just walked hand in hand like they were on patrol. They turned a corner, and when Yanis saw a men's clothing store with a particular brand, his gaze was drawn to the trench coat worn by the mannequin.

Yanis stopped in his tracks and looked at the coat on the model before turning to look at Zane.

"Yanis, what are you looking at?" Zane asked when he saw Yanis standing still outside of the men's store.

Yanis pulled Zane inside. "Zane, why don't you try this trench coat?"

When Zane heard what Yanis said, he turned to look at him. "Are you buying it for me?"

"I'm buying it for a friend who has your body type," Yanis explained.

Zane's eyes lost their sparkle, but surprisingly agreed and let the salesperson bring over some clothes for him to try on.

To Yanis' surprise, this outfit looked better on Zane than it did on any model.

"Turn around," said Yanis.

Zane obediently turned around while following instructions from Yanus who asked him take two steps forward, so that she could see how it fit from all angles before nodding in satisfaction and saying, "This is perfect."

After paying for everything, Yanus turned towards Zanes and asked, "Can you carry this?"

Without saying anything, Zanes took hold of everything, then silently held onto Yani's hand once more. They continued shopping but didn't buy anything else until they arrived at another brand shop where Yani picked out pants and casual shoes that matched perfectly with previous purchases. All sizes were based off of measurements of Zane. Zane cooperated throughout without complaint, although there was no longer any light in his eyes.

Several times Yanis could hardly hold back the truth, but she did.

After a long time, Yanis looked at Zane. "Let's go back."

Zane nodded and picked up a bunch of things, but still left one hand free to hold Yanis's hand.

Yanis watched as Zane carried everything with just one hand and couldn't help but ask, "Can't you carry them with both hands?"

"If I use both hands, then I can't hold your hand," Zane replied.

Yanis felt flutter hearing this, and reached out to take something from Zane's hand. "I'll carry one too. After all, it was bought for my friend. It wouldn't be right for you to carry it all."

As Yanis spoke these words, she could feel that Zane held her hand tighter.

Yanis kept quiet as they walked from the mall to the car without saying anything else.

She put all the things she bought on the back seat before getting into the passenger seat.

Yanis noticed that Zane's gaze lingered on what she bought. It was almost like he wanted to burn them with his eyes, which made Yanis smile even more.

Tonight, Yanis acted like an excited child. She deliberately teased him by asking him if her friend would like what she had bought for him.

Zane tightened his grip on the steering wheel when he heard this question. "He'll love it," he said curtly.

"What about you? Do you like them?" asked Yanis playfully,

"It wasn't meant for me," replied Zane.

"Of course not," agreed Yanis quickly,

Zane didn't say anything else after that; instead he drove in silence.

Yanis checked in every now and then to see how Zane reacted.

It was hard for her not to laugh, so she took out her phone and started chatting with Bonnie and Stella, trying not to pay too much attention towards him.

Soon enough they arrived at their studio where Yannis promptly put away her phone before unbuckling herself from seatbelt, then bending down over grabbing flowers from behind. "I'll head inside first."

Zanes grunted in response before getting out of car himself, walking around towards passenger side and opening door helping Yannis get off safely.

"Goodnight Yannis," he muttered, looking slightly dejected.

Unable to resist any longer seeing how sad he looked, Yannis blurted out, "All these gifts were actually meant for you."

As soon as Yanis said that, Zane's eyes seemed to light up.
