I Become A CEO After Divorce
Chapter 625: I'M Not A Bandit

Chapter 625: I'm Not a Bandit

Allan finished the water in his cup and placed it on the table. "So, I came to you today because I want you to keep an eye on her for me. She's been looking really thin lately."

Yanis wanted to say something, but couldn't replace the right words.

"Why do you look like I'm interested in your daughter?" Allan asked, noticing Yanis' expression.

"If you were interested in my daughter, you'd be knocked on the ground right now," Yanis replied.

Allan chuckled at her response. "No, no need for that."

Yanis looked at him suspiciously. "Are you trying to take advantage of her?"

Allan immediately glared at Yanis. "Do you think I'm that kind of person?"

Yanis didn't say anything but thought to herself, 'How would I know what kind of person he is?'

Although she didn't say it out loud, Allan could tell from her expression that she had doubts about him. "Yanis, did you know? You're the first person who knows about this. Aren't you worried that I'll silence you?"

When Yanis heard this statement from Allan, she was shocked and asked: "I'm the first one who knows? Doesn't Evan know?"

"If he knew then everyone would know," Allan responded.

At this point in time, Yanis really wanted to ask Allan a gossip question: 'When did Reed become your target?' But before she could speak up about it, she held back and swallowed those words instead. "You said Reed's brother also knows?" Yanis asked tentatively.

"You mean Mitch?"

Yanis nodded in agreement.

"He'll kill me if he replaces out," Allan said while waving his hand dismissively.

He was not a good person in Mitch's heart, so Allan couldn't dare to say that in front of Mitch.

There was a reason why he went to Yanis today and told her his secret.

Because Allan thought Yanis was the only person besides Evan who "knew" him.

Back in the Hill District, everyone thought he wasn't normal.

Everyone thought he was Nealon's henchman.

No one really knew him.

It was only after meeting Yanis that Allan had a gut feeling that Yanis was different from the other people in the Hill District.

"Are you telling me you want me to help you?"

Yanis asks tentatively.

Allan shook his head. "I didn't just want to share the secret with you. I'll take care of the rest myself.

Yanis was convinced by Allan's words.

After a few seconds of silence, Yanis said, "Well... you shouldn't scare Reed away. And as for her final decision, you have to accept it."

Allan nodded. "Of course not. I'm not a bandit."

Sharing this secret changed the atmosphere between them instantly.

Allan stayed with Yanis until around three o'clock before leaving.

Bonnie had just finished her work and saw Yanis seeing Allan off when she came out.

"He only left now? Your relationship is really strange," Bonnie leaned against the door and said as she watched Allan leave in his car.

Yanis looked at her and asked, "Are you bored or something?"

Bonnie waved her hand and said, "I'm busy! I have several custom orders but no inspiration."

"Go replace some then," Yanis replied.

"I am!" Bonnie retorted playfully while taking hold of Yanis' arm. "There's a tea shop nearby; let's go check it out?"

"Do you want to drink something there?" asked Yanis.

"I want something cold that will refresh me," answered Bonnie with a shake of her head.

"In that case why don't we get coffee instead?" suggested Yanis,

"No thanks! I'd rather have cold juice or fruit drinks," replied Bonnie firmly,

Yanis realized she couldn't argue with her, so she went along with what she wanted and accompanied her to buy drinks from the shop nearby.

"Two large cups of watermelon juice please!" ordered Bonnie while turning towards her, saying: "Pay up!"

Yanis looked at her quizzically.

"I forgot my purse at home," explained Bonnie shrugging helplessly,

So he paid up without any further questions.

"Has Myles come back yet?" asked Yanis.

"I think so," replied Bonny, "He hasn't done anything other than send messages on time these past two days."

"Did you guys fight?"

"What are we fighting about? Am I one of those women who fight every day?" retorted Bonny.

"Maybe not?" observed Yannis,

Bonny sighed deeply: "I shouldn't have gone back to Cooke's Mansion last night."

"What happened? Did your teacher scold you again?" queried Yannis,

"It wasn't just scolding; he almost kicked me out!" exclaimed Bonny.

"What did you do?" asked Yannis incredulously.

Bonnie lowered her voice and said, "My dad and Old Mr. Cooke are both pressuring me to marry Myles. Old Cooke even said that if I don't get married soon, he won't have a chance to hold his great-grandchild before he dies. He's getting old. You hear that? Isn't it like threatening my life?"

Yanis listened and chuckled lightly, "What do you want to do then?"

"You're still laughing? You really have no heart at all."

Yanis suppressed his laughter, "So what's your plan?"

Bonnie handed Yanis a cup of iced watermelon juice she had prepared on the side and took a big sip herself, "It tastes so good!"

Yanis looked at her.

Bonnie continued speaking after taking another sip of juice, "I plan to wait until Myles' birthday before making any decisions."

After speaking, Bonnie turned her head towards Yanis and asked her about the progress on the ring.

"If you need it now, I'll have someone make it for you urgently," Yanis replied.

"Please do! Super urgent!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"Okay," Yanis nodded in agreement.

The two returned to the front of the store where they saw several large boxes piled up by the door. Yanis immediately thought that Zane had sent something over again.

"Miss Thompson," came a familiar voice from behind them.

Yanis turned around towards Albi, who was approaching them with several boxes in hand.

"These are from Mr. Lawrence for you," Albi explained as he placed down the boxes beside them.

"What is all this?" Yanis asked while looking at the boxes on one side.

"Mr. Lawrence said that once you open them up, then you'll know what they are," Albi replied with a smile.

Albi paused for a moment before continuing," Shall I help move these upstairs?"

After hesitating for a few seconds, Yan agreed," Okay."

Albi quickly moved all of the boxes upstairs, as if afraid that Yan would suddenly change his mind.

"Miss Thompson, I've put everything upstairs. I've got other things to attend now so I'll take my leave first." Then Albi left hastily.

Yanis stood there motionless for awhile before turning around and heading upstairs. Bonnie followed behind her asking," What's wrong with Scumbag these days? Did something happen?"

As she listened, Bonnie learned about what happened last night. Yet, she remained silent for awhile before whispering softly, "You're not feeling anything anymore, right?"Yanis paused in her tracks at the sound of her voice and turned to face her. "Was I... that obvious?"s he asked.

"Don't go too far. Scumbag is a good guy now," Bonnie replied.

Yanis didn't say anything and headed straight upstairs.
