I Become A CEO After Divorce
Chapter 624: You'Re Not Talking About Reed, Are You?

Chapter 624: You're not talking about Reed, are you?

After hanging up the phone with Zane, Yanis took a deep breath and answered Allan's call.

"Miss Thompson, are you coming?" Allan asked directly, leaving Yanis momentarily confused.

"Where am I going?"

"Oh right, you're not going to Viteto anymore," Allan said. "Mia and the others are all here now. You don't need to go over there."

Yanis thought about it and realized she didn't need to go after all. She planned on visiting Jillian later anyway; going to Viteto was relatively easy.

Yanis nodded. "I won't be going for now. Are you heading back?"

"I have a flight tonight," Allan said.

"You won't be coming back to Manches City anymore?" Yanis asked.

Allan laughed. "My 'woman' is still here; how can I not come back?"

Yanis choked on her words; she had been about to say something along the lines of 'who's your woman?' But then she remembered what Evan had told her about someone being in Allan's heart and decided against it, instead saying: "When you come back to Manches City, let me treat you out for dinner."

"How about today?" Allan suggested. "It's just in time for lunch."

Upon hearing this, Yanis turned around instinctively towards the table full of food that could probably feed two more people comfortably as well, but hesitated before saying: "I just ordered some food myself; do you want to come over my shop instead?"

Allan clicked his tongue at this suggestion."You want me eat takeout?"

Yanis corrected him earnestly: "It's from a fine restaurant. They're pretty good!"

After several seconds of silence from his end, he finally agreed:"Alright then, I'll head over later."

"Okay then," Yanis replied."See ya soon!"

After hanging up the phone, Yanis turned around and saw Wendy had already set everything up. She picked out a few dishes from the table before telling Bonnie and Wendy: "You guys can start eating first. I'll leave these aside."

Bonnie reached out wanting the dish in Yanis' hand. She dodged, saying: "There's more over there."

Bonnie snorted lightly."These are all Scumbag... Zane bought them, right?"

Yannis didn't deny it. Bonnie pointed at the table full of food."What's he trying to imply by sending so much food your way? Trying to win your heart with food these instead of flowers..."

She stopped mid-sentence when she sawa a large bouquet of red roses placed aside."Never mind. Never mind. Take whatever you want. We're starting soon," Bonnie said hastily. Yannis replied calmly: "This is enough. You guys enjoy it."Bonnie had a box of food and before she started eating, she leaned over to Yanis and asked, "Who's this for?"

Yanis didn't hide anything from Bonnie and answered truthfully, "Allan."

When Bonnie heard this, she raised an eyebrow. "You and Allan..."

"Shut up!" Yanis didn't give her a chance to finish her sentence. He picked up his chopsticks, grabbed some food and stuffed it into Bonnie's mouth. "Can't even close your mouth when you're eating?" Bonnie swallowed the food in her mouth but persisted with her question. "I mean when did you become so close with Allan?"

"He's going back to Viteto soon. We were supposed to go together but Mia and the others are still here so I'm not going anymore." "And then?"

"Then I invited him out for a meal."

Bonnie exclaimed, "So you used Scumbag's money to treat Allan?!"

Yanis looked at her. "Is that not okay?"

Bonnie stared at her for a few seconds before nodding in agreement. "Okay, fine! You really know how to live a life!"

After speaking, Bonnie joined the group of people who were already eating their lunch.

"Linda! I'm your boss! Give me half of yours!"

"You can't steal mine just because you're my boss!" Linda retorted.

"I'll fire you right now if you don't give it to me!"

"Even if you fire me, I won't give it up!" Linda replied stubbornly.

Yanis watched as everyone ate heartily like they hadn't eaten in days; she was pleased that they had finished most of their lunch by now.

Not long after Wendy cleared away the leftovers from lunchtime; Allan arrived carrying something for her.

Yanis asked Wendy for help setting out the dishes before turning her attention towards Allan: "What do you have there?"

"It's for you," said Allan as he handed over what he was holding.

"What is it?" Yanis asked curiously.

"It's something useful," replied Allan scanning around inside the shop: "I got it from someone yesterday who said it wasn't bad."

Allan then looked over on the table: "Was this dish specially prepared just for me?"

"Yes," replied Yanis as she put down what was given by Allen on one side: "If it doesn't suit your taste, we can go somewhere else instead."

Allan waved his hand dismissively: "No need to be so fancy; these are good enough."

As usual Allan sat down without any fuss or ceremony.

After picking up his chopsticks, he asked Yanis: "You haven't eaten yet either, right?"

"I'm waiting until we're both ready," came Alan's reply. Allan smiled and handed Yanis the chopsticks he had just picked up. "Let's eat together." Yanis nodded and thanked him, "What time is your flight tonight?"

Allan replied, "Around six or seven. I'll be in Viteto at night, stay there for a night, and then return to the Hill District the next day."

Yanis nodded but didn't say anything else.

"Yanis," Allan suddenly called out.

Yanis looked up at him and asked, "What's up?"

"Well," Allan hesitated before continuing. He looked at Yanis and said, "You know how... if I were to say that I'm interested in a young girl... would you think I'm a pervert?"

Yanis paused his chopstick movement and stared at Allan with disbelief.

Allan coughed lightly and took a sip of water from his cup. "Well, she's not really underage anymore; she'll turn eighteen by the end of this month."

Without saying anything more, Yanis continued to look at Allan.

After a moment of silence passed between them, Yanis asked cautiously: "How old are you?"

"I'm almost twenty-four," replied Allan seriously.

"So you're six years apart?" questioned Yanis.

"Yeah but six years isn't that big of an age difference," shrugged Allan confidently.

"Are you not afraid that someone from the Austi family will kill you?"

"They can try but they won't succeed; even if all of them team up against me. And her elder brother..." said Allan smugly before pausing mid-sentence as he remembered something important. He turned towards Yanin again before continuing: "I mean, I don't think six's a problem, and when I'm done with the Hill District and I get back here and I replace something real to do, I'll be good to her."

The more Yanis listened, the more she thought something was wrong.

"Allan, do I know the girl you speak of?"

When Allan was asked, he stopped drinking water for a while and then mumbled his voice.

Yanis thought about the people around her carefully. It seemed that there was no girl a month shy of adulthood.

Before he could finish his sentence though, Yannis interrupted him abruptly by slamming his hand on the table while looking shocked:

"You... you're not talking about Reed are you?!"
