Chapter 726: She is My Substitute
Yanis looked at Bonnie. "He was taken away by the police?"
Bonnie nodded. "Ivan followed Robin and they took him away. The police said they might ask you to give a statement later, and they might also talk to Zane because he wasn't exactly gentle with him either." Although Ahmed's actions were infuriating, everyone had been pretty rough with him.
Especially Bonnie and Ivan's kicks and chair throw.
As they spoke, someone knocked on the door of the hospital room.
All three of them turned to look.
When they saw who was at the door, Bonnie stood up and glanced over at Yanis's face.
Two policemen had arrived to inquire about what happened earlier that day.
Yanis told them everything truthfully before asking, "What will happen now?"
"We'll conduct further investigations because he was previously involved in an attempted rape case before. We'll handle it according to regulations," one of the policemen replied. Yanis nodded. "Okay then, thank you."
The other policewoman looked at Yanis and said, "But you guys went hard on him! He probably won't be able..."
"Ahem." The male policeman coughed lightly interrupting her. "Alright, we're done here. We won't disturb your rest any longer."
"Okay," Yanis responded as she watched them leave.
After the police left, Bonnie couldn't help but laugh out loud. "They scared me! I thought they were going to question me too! But my kick was pretty good!"
Libby asked curiously: "Where did you kick him?"
Bonnie replied confidently: "Wherever it hurts most for men; he deserved it for bullying my Yanis!"
Libby gave her a thumbs up in agreement: "That?? s how you deal with those bastards!"
Listening in on their conversation made Yanis think of something else entirely as she asked Libby and Bonnie if they had seen Fukuma yet.
"Fukuma is next door," Libby answered solemnly while shaking her head sadly: "She lost her baby. Doctors say she may never be able to have children again... it?? s such a shame."
"They?? d better lock that bastard up for years," Bonnie added angrily: "People like that shouldn?? t be allowed back into society causing harm!" She continued while shaking her head disapprovingly: ?"Ivan
hit him hard enough this time around. I bet he?? Il have nightmares every time he sees us from now on."
Yanis never imagined that her senior, whom she hadn't seen in years, would become such a daunting man.
In Yanis' impression, Ahmed used to be gentle and refined.
But she didn't expect that after a few years, he had changed completely.
"I want to go see Fukuma," Yanis said softly, looking at Bonnie after chatting for a while.
Bonnie looked at Yanis and asked, "Can you move?"
Yanis responded, "Of course I can move, besides Fukuma's ward is right next to mine."
Bonnie looked at Yanis and said, "I suddenly remembered something."
Yanis met Bonnie's gaze and asked, "What's up?"
"When you went to the bathroom, did you go with Fukuma?" Bonnie asked Yanis.
Yanis didn't hesitate and nodded, "She said she wanted to talk to me and that Ahmed kept her around because Fukuma reminded him of me at certain times."
When Bonnie and Libby heard Yanis' words, they were both a little shocked. "She looks like you?"
Yanis nodded. "Fukuma said Ahmed used her as a substitute for me, which is why she was kept by Ahmed for so many years, and that Fukuma had been abused by Ahmed several times and had lost several children before."
Yanis roughly recounted what Fukuma had said earlier, "That's why I wanted to talk to her."
"So, does that mean bringing you to the classroom was actually Fukuma trying to help Ahmed, but she suddenly changed her mind later?"
Yanis responded, "At first, she probably wanted to help Ahmed and even told him that I was in the second-floor classroom with her. I'm just curious as to why she suddenly changed her mind later on." After listening to Yanis, Bonnie looked at her with some displeasure and said, "I think you are too soft-hearted, that's why others can deceive and manipulate you like this." "Actually, Fukuma is also quite tough. She has injuries all over her body."
Libby said: "When Albi and I brought her to the hospital, I saw the marks on her body, which must have been caused by beating with a stick or a belt. It looked terrible. Why would she like a man like that?" "At first, Fukuma liked Ahmed because of his appearance. If she had known he was like this, I don't think Fukuma would have loved him so deeply. She said she had thought about leaving before, but Ahmed threatened her with her parents and younger brother, who is still in middle school, so she stayed with him, not even thinking about leaving."
"Why didn't you call the police?" Libby asked, puzzled.
"Calling the police wouldn't solve anything. They can't come every time, and Ahmed knows her parents' address. If they can't protect them all the time, Fukuma will suffer even more."
"That just means Fukuma has bad luck to meet such a scum," Bonnie sighed.
Yanis said as she reached out her hand to Bonnie. "Help me up so I can go see her."
Bonnie helped Yanis up and asked if she should accompany her. Yanis shook her head and said he could go alone. Bonnie agreed to wait for her outside and told her to call if he needed anything. Libby also stood up and offered to help Yanis get to Fukuma's room. She accepted her offer of assistance, thanking her as they walked towards the door.
Once at Fukuma's room, Libby looked inside before turning back towards Yanis. "Fukuma's parents are in there now; do you want me to wait for you?" Yanis hesitated but then replied that it was okay; after all, Fukuma had helped her before, so it was only right that she visit her now.
As Libby left, Yanis knocked on the door before entering when she heard a response from inside.
Fukuma was lying in bed when she saw Yanis enter; she seemed surprised but greeted her politely nonetheless: "Miss Thompson?"
"I came here to see how you're doing," replied Yanis with a nod of her head.
Fukuma started getting up from bed but stopped when Yanis told her not too: "Just stay put."
Yanis went over by the bedside where Fukuma's parents were sitting and introduced herself politely: "Hello Uncle and Auntie! I'm a friend of Fukuma. I?? m here to visit her."
Fukuma's mother looked like a very simple middle-aged housewife. When Yanis came, she quickly stood up and gave the stool by the bed to Yanis. "Please sit down, are you not feeling well?"
