Chapter 918: I'M Happy For You

Chapter 918: I'm Happy for You

Zane listened quietly as Anika finished speaking before he spoke up, "Do you still want to go now?"

Anika turned to look at Zane. "Will you take me?"

"I remember there's an amusement park nearby. It's not crowded today since it's not the weekend. Shall I take you there?" Zane suggested and then added, "If you want to go."

Anika hesitated for a while before nodding. "I want to."

Zane held Anika's hand and started walking towards the exit. "Then let's go now."

Zane took Anika directly to the amusement park and they went on all the rides she had mentioned earlier. After enjoying themselves, Anika sat on a bench, her gaze empty as she stared at the Ferris wheel nearby. "Brother, if we ride the Ferris wheel together now, will we never be separated in this lifetime? Will you always be my brother, and I'll always be your sister?"

Before Zane could respond, Anika chuckled to herself, not waiting for his answer. "What am I saying? You're supposed to ride the Ferris wheel with someone you like. I'll ride it with Iris in the future. I won't ride it with you."

Zane looked at her. "Do you want to ride it?"

Anika also looked at Zane and asked a question that had nothing to do with his response. "Brother, have you ever ridden it with Sister-in-law?"

Zane's gaze fell on the Ferris wheel not far away, and he spoke softly, "No."

"Then you should ride it with Sister-in-law next time. I'll ride it with Iris. That way, we'll never be separated in this lifetime," Anika suggested. Zane paused for a few seconds and then nodded. "Alright."

Since Anika was in a good mood, Zane took her to eat something outside before sending her back.

"Brother, you can go now. I'll go in by myself," Anika said as the car stopped at the entrance of South Hospital, waving at Zane. Zane watched her and replied, "After you go in, I'll go back. I still need to pick up your sister-in-law."

Anika nodded. "Next time, bring sister-in-law with you."

Zane acknowledged, "Go inside then."

As Anika turned around, Zane called out to her, "If you have time, send a message to Iris. She's worried about you."

Anika paused upon hearing Zane's words, turned back, and walked towards Zane again. "Brother, do you think I'm worthy of Iris?"

After hearing Anika's question, Zane looked at her and asked softly, "Did Iris say something? Or did someone say something to you?"

Anika shook her head. "No, nobody said anything. Iris didn't say anything, and nobody else did either. I just thought of it suddenly and asked casually." After saying that, Anika smiled at Zane. "You should go back and accompany sister-in-law. I'll go inside."

Zane stood at the entrance of South Hospital and watched Anika enter before turning around and getting into the car.

After getting in the car, instead of immediately starting the engine, Zane picked up his phone and dialed Iris' number.

It took a while for Iris to answer the call. "Mr. Lawrence?"

"Are you busy?" Zane asked.

Iris's voice came through the phone. "Not too busy. What's the matter?"

Zane glanced at the time. "If you're not too busy, I'll come to your company in half an hour."

Iris responded, "Sure, I'll inform the reception. Just come up when you arrive."

Zane acknowledged, "See you later."

Originally, Zane had planned to chat for a bit on the phone, but then he changed his mind. He wanted to talk to Iris face-to-face about Anika's situation. After hanging up with Iris, Zane started the car and drove towards Duncan Group.

First Hospital.

Bonnie's morning check-up reports weren't ready until the afternoon, so Yanis accompanied her to the hospital to pick up the reports.

After handing the reports to Dr. Watson and ensuring that everything was fine, the two of them left the hospital in the car.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Bonnie turned her head to look at Yanis. "Are you going back later?"

Yanis checked the time on her hand. "I'll ask Zane if he's busy tonight. If he is, I'll go with you to the cottage. We can buy some ingredients on the way home and cook there." Bonnie continued the conversation. "Will you cook?"

Yanis looked at her. "Are you suggesting that I don't?"

Bonnie waved her hand. "In the past, I might have considered it, but now, it's better if I don't cook. It's easier for me to starve to death than for me to cook."

Yanis sighed helplessly and shook her head. "I'll make the call."

Yanis dialed Zane's number and he picked up after a short while. "Yanis?"

"When will you be back tonight?"

Upon hearing Yanis' question, Zane checked the time. "It might be a bit late. Why?"

Yanis said, "Bonnie and I are planning to go to the cottage later. Will you come?"

"I still have a few things to take care of here. If I finish early, I'll come and replace you. If not, I'll go home directly," Zane replied, pausing for a moment before asking, "Are you planning to stay at home tonight?" Yanis responded, "Yes, I'll go home."

Zane acknowledged, "I'll call you later then."

After chatting casually for a few more moments, they hung up the phone.

Bonnie sat in the passenger seat and watched Yanis hang up the phone, wearing a serious expression. "Do you have to inform each other about everything you do now?"

Yanis put down her phone and started the car. "No."

Bonnie clicked her tongue a few times. "But seeing you like this, I'm happy for you."

After leaving the hospital, the two of them went to the mall and bought plenty of ingredients. In the evening, Yanis prepared dinner.

Bonnie had a big appetite lately and wanted to eat everything. So when they were picking out ingredients, Bonnie took charge.

"Yanis, you stay in line here. I suddenly

remembered that we don't have any snacks at home. I'll go pick a few," Bonnie said.

Yanis glanced at the queue in front. "Shall I come with you? We can go to the other side later." Bonnie waved her hand. "No need. It's even more crowded over there. Just wait here. I'll be quick."

Yanis glanced at the snack section, which wasn't too far away, so she nodded. "Alright, take your time."

Bonnie was in the later stages of pregnancy, and Yanis didn't feel at ease letting her wander around alone. After all, Dr. Watson had reminded them earlier to be prepared for delivery.

As Bonnie walked towards the snack section, Yanis kept her gaze on her until Bonnie reached the shelf and disappeared from sight. Only then did Yanis retract her gaze and walked a few steps forward. As they were about to pass each other, Yanis realized that Bonnie hadn't come back.

Instinctively, she thought of making a phone call. But as she reached for her phone, Yanis realized that Bonnie had handed it to her when they were picking out items.
