I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)
Chapter 403 Trouble Lurking

Eleanor shook her head without any hesitation. "I don't know."

Benjamin explained, "It's nothing serious. I heard Harper mention this name on the phone, and I was worried she was in trouble but wouldn't tell me. So, I thought of asking you. You know, if I push her too much, she'll get mad at me again. I can't let her know I asked you about this. Otherwise, she'll give me a hard time." He spoke sincerely, and Eleanor had no doubts.

She said, "Harper doesn't have many friends in Dattlech, just a few people she hangs out with. I've never heard of Jorge. If you're worried about her, I'll help you ask her."

"No need. I'll have someone check. Just pretend you don't know," Benjamin said.

"That's fine."

Eleanor agreed.

Not getting any information from Eleanor, Benjamin was frustrated.

He didn't know if he was hiding too well or if there were other reasons mixed in.

Benjamin received a call from Larry as soon as he left the hospital, inviting him to lunch. They hadn't gathered in a long time, so he agreed.

He sent Harper a message: [Having lunch with Larry. Want to join?]

Harper replied: [I'm not going. You guys go ahead. I'm having lunch with Annie at noon, and I have work in the afternoon. I have to visit Eleanor at the hospital later.]

Benjamin: [Okay, dinner together tonight?]

Harper: [Yeah.]

Their conversation was simple, like an ordinary couple.

Benjamin felt comfortable with this kind of exchange.

After confirming that Benjamin had nothing else to say, Harper turned off her phone and placed it on her desk. She had just finished discussing the decoration of the construction site with Charlie. Now that the formal decoration was starting, many materials were coming in every day, and Charlie was worried about any problems, so he would confirm each batch with her.

This matter was not trivial, so Harper had to check carefully.

In the afternoon, the office door was knocked, and Frank walked in.

Harper looked up and asked, "Didn't you go to the Mitchell Group?" "Yeah, just got back."

"How was the discussion?"

Frank walked to the desk and sat down. He replied, "It's okay. We might start construction in a few days. I went to the site with Kimberly today. The surrounding environment is good, but the only downside is that the space is too large. The client requested not only greening but also the construction of some fitness equipment and children's playground facilities."

"These should still be within the budget, right? Especially when it comes to safety issues, I suggest being careful and not having any safety hazards," Harper advised seriously.

Frank nodded. "That's what I think too. After all, if any accidents happen later, it will not only harm others but also affect both our company and the Mitchell Group." "Yeah." Harper nodded in agreement.

Frank noticed the files she was checking and asked, "Is this the material check for the Martin Group's project?"

"Yes, materials have been coming in continuously these days, and each batch needs to be carefully checked."

Frank nodded. "Harper, you're still so responsible. Is there anything I can help with?"

"No, I'm almost done here. You'll be busy with the Mitchell Group's project once it officially starts, so take a few days to rest now." Harper smiled, and Frank smiled back, indicating he wasn't tired.

At this point, the two had nothing more to say, and the room quieted down.

Their eyes occasionally met. Harper felt a bit awkward. She didn't know when the topics between her and Frank had become fewer. They mostly talked about work, didn't go out for meals privately anymore, and didn't discuss each other's private matters.

Their relationship seemed to have turned into merely that of colleagues and partners.
