Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1120: Kids don't talk nonsense

After lunch, Edgar prepared to go straight back to the office.

Before he left the door, Brimlad called out to him, "Edgar, wait a minute."

Edgar turned around, "Mom, what's wrong?"

"It's Ainsley's birthday in a couple of days and the Boone Family has asked us all to come over to help Ainsley celebrate her birthday.

"I'll go gift shopping?" Edgar thought he had heard wrong.

He was a big man who didn't know how to choose a birthday present for a girl.

"Or what?" Brimlad asked him rhetorically, "This is something you have to finish for me."

Edgar furrowed his brow in embarrassment, then out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of Eloise not far away and his eyes lit up, "Eloise, why don't you buy it for me, I'm too busy with work to get away." "Huh?" Eloise pointed at herself with a surprised look on her face, "I'll buy it?"

"You're a girl, you know what girls like, so I'll leave it to you."

With that said, Edgar hurried out the door, not giving her a chance to refuse.

"Edgar!" Brimlad chased after her in exasperation, but only had time to see the rear end of the car as it lurched away.

She couldn't help but shake her head and sigh, "The boy's got it in for the taking."

Back inside, she said to Eloise, "Don't buy it for him, he'll have to choose the present himself."

Eloise laughed, "Auntie, do you really want to set up your cousin and Ainsley that badly?"

"I do, but will your cousin want to?" Brimlad asked in return, unenthusiastically.

She did like the Ainsley boy, after all, her looks and family were a good match, but she didn't think her own son was interested. So she didn't dare to be too blatant about it.

Eloise laughed dryly, "He's reluctant."

She turned her head and saw Edwina looking a little forlorn, her eyebrows Edwina frowned, "Edwina, what's wrong with you?" Edwina looked back and met her concerned gaze, curving her lips into a smile, "Nothing, probably overfed and not very comfortable." "Overfed?"

"Well, aunty's cooking is delicious and I accidentally ate a bit too much." Edwina smiled cautiously at Brimlad.

Eloise looked at her thoughtfully.

It was people who liked to hear compliments.

Brimlad smiled like a flower at once, "Really? Then you should come more often in the future, auntie will cook for you."

"Thank you, Aunty." Edwina maintained her smile, but no one could see the despondency hidden deep in her eyes.

Edwina sat there for a while and then left with Bonnie.

As soon as they had left, Brimlad said to Eloise, "Actually Edwina is not bad, but it's just one more child."

Eloise was a little surprised to hear that, "Auntie, I can't believe you think Edwina is nice too, I thought you would have a sense of gentility?"

"I do." Brimlad admitted frankly, "Of course I want your cousin to replace a wife who can help him, but more than that, I want him to be happy. As long as he likes it, it doesn't matter what kind of family the other person is from." "Auntie, you are so open-minded." Eloise couldn't help but sigh.

She had really thought that her brother-in-law would be particular about the right family, but thankfully not.

In that case, perhaps Edwina would have a chance.

"Actually, Bonnie is a small matter, we, the Khan family, can still afford to raise a child." She said with a smile.

At that, Brimlad frowned, "From what you're saying, why does it sound like you're trying to set Edwina and Edgar up?"

"I'm not." Eloise immediately denied it, "I'm just saying that."

"Is that so?" Brimlad was a little incredulous.

"Of course I am, and you know that cousin, is that someone we can sway?" Eloise asked.

Brimlad nodded approvingly, "You're right, that brat really isn't something we can sway."

At that, she sighed, "Forget it, let him be. Just don't let him replace me a particularly bad one anyway."

Eloise lost her smile, "Auntie, you're asking for so little."

"Forced." Brimlad sighed helplessly, "If only they could be as happy as you and Hector."

The smile on Eloise's face instantly faded at the mention of Hector, but she forced the corners of her mouth up to keep Brimlad from worrying, "It will." "I hope so."

Not noticing that she was out of sorts, Brimlad changed the subject and said, "You go upstairs for your lunch break."

"Good."

Eloise turned and went upstairs, walking straight into her room and closing the door behind her as the endless empty silence came over her.

She slid slowly down against the door and dropped to the floor.

Not wanting everyone to worry about her, she tried very hard to look happy.

Now that she was alone, all her pretensions instantly fell apart.

Hector, I miss you so much, where the hell are you?

Tears came to her eyes, blurring her vision.

Unable to control the sadness inside her, she buried her face between her knees and whimpered.

In the quiet room, her whimpers were all that could be heard, and it seemed that a faint layer of sadness lingered throughout the room.

...

When she got home, Edwina was so distracted that she accidentally broke her glass when she poured a glass of water.

"Mum, what's wrong with you?" Bonnie looked worriedly at Edwina who was cleaning up the broken glass.

Edwina looked up and gave him a reassuring smile, "I'm fine."

"How can you be fine? By now, you've broken a glass, tripped over a chair and even accidentally drank soy sauce, where does it look like you're fine?"

"Is that so terrible?" Bonnie didn't say, she hadn't even reacted to all the stupid things she'd done.

Bonnie nodded heavily, "Yes, it's that awful. If I hadn't caught you drinking from the soy sauce, you would have finished that bottle."

Edwina laughed, "You're overthinking it, how could I not drink it if it was soy sauce?"

"But you drank it anyway." Bonnie retorted.

Edwina thought for a moment and defended, "I thought it was coke, that's why I drank it."

Bonnie bristled, "Mum, don't use Coke bottles for soy sauce anymore, okay? I'm afraid you'll still drink it wrong."

"Okay, I'll use a different bottle from now on."

Because she always bought a big bottle of soy sauce, but every time she used it, it was too much trouble, so she always divided it into smaller bottles. When she got home, she felt thirsty so she went to the kitchen for a drink of water and happened to see a bottle of Coke on the counter.

She picked it up and drank it, but it turned out to be soy sauce.

It nearly salted her to death.

Edwina emptied the glass into the bin and returned to the living room to sit down.

Bonnie immediately came over, "Mum, does Uncle Edgar have a girlfriend?"

"Why are you asking that all of a sudden?" Edwina turned her head and looked at him quizzically.

"I'm just asking, didn't Grandma Brimlad ask him to buy a girl a birthday present, is that his girlfriend?" Bonnie asked again. Was it his girlfriend?

Edwina wondered the same thing, she grabbed the pillow and hugged it in her arms and sighed softly, "I don't know."

"Oh." Bonnie was a little disappointed, "I thought Aunt Eloise had told you."

Edwina turned her head to look at him, "Bonnie, why are you so curious about this?"

"It's not for you."

"For me?"

"Yeah, don't you like Uncle Edgar?"

Edwina was shocked and denied it, "I don't, don't talk nonsense to children."

Bonnie pouted, "I know, I won't say it again."

"Go to your room and do your homework."

When Bonnie had gone to her room, Edwina relaxed on the sofa, her brow locked, was she really acting obvious?
