Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1119: It just so happens

"That's not the way to say it, maybe you're the only one missing out?"

Eloise looked at Edwina meaningfully.

"How could that be?" Edwina reluctantly tugged at the corner of her mouth, she wouldn't dare have such delusions.

"Don't get ahead of yourself, you're good too."

It wasn't comforting her, it was the truth.

It was admirable enough that she, a girl in her twenties, had to earn money to support a child as young as eight years old all by herself.

Edwina smiled gratefully, "Thank you Miss. Eloise for looking up to me."

EloiseEdwina smiled, "Edwina, don't look down on yourself, you don't lose to anyone, you know?"

"I know." Not wanting to continue on this topic, Edwina changed the subject and said, "Miss. Eloise, can we go upstairs and see the kids and them?" Eloise nodded readily, "Of course."

She actually wanted to advise Edwina to go after someone she liked when she met them and not to care about status, but Edwina didn't want to go on, so she gave up. Anyway, if the person Edwina liked was Edgar, she would support it.

The children's playroom was on the far right of the first floor, going past the study.

Edwina turns her head to talk to Eloise as she walks, so she doesn't see the person coming out of the study.

Eloise opened her mouth to warn her too late.

Only to see her run straight into it.

"Look out!" Edgar reached out in time to help her.

Edwina's head went blank and she stared at Edgar in disbelief.

Eloise, on the other hand, couldn't help but hide her giggles.

Edgar looked at Eloise, let go of her hand and took a step back to put distance between himself and Edwina.

It was only then that Edwina reacted, her white face instantly flushed red, and she hurriedly apologised over and over again, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

Her sincere and frightened look made Edgar laugh, "Miss. Edwina, am I that scary?"

"Huh?" Edwina was so scared that she covered her neck and looked up to meet him in his smiling eyes, and her heart skipped a beat.

"I ..." Her mind literally went blank and she really didn't know what to say.

Eloise came over and took her arm, smiling, "My cousin is very nice, you don't have to be so formal."

Edwina let out a soft "Oh" and looked down at Edgar.

"Are you going to see Solomon and the others?" Edgar asked as he picked up the papers.

"Yeah." Eloise nodded, and with a sidelong glance at Edwina beside her, she lowered her voice and asked, "Are you going to eat at home for lunch, cousin?" "Since you're back you'll eat before you go to work."

Eloise teased in a small voice, "What a coincidence that Edwina is coming over and you just happened to leave your papers at home."

Edgar couldn't miss the hidden meaning of her words and shook his head in disbelief, tapping her on the head with the file, "Don't be ridiculous, it's just a coincidence." Eloise spat out her tongue, "Yes, it's a coincidence."

She must still think she had come back specifically for Edwina.

Edgar didn't want to explain any further, "Aren't you going to see Solomon and the others? Go on, dinner is coming up later."

With that, he walked past them and went straight down the stairs.

"My cousin's gone." Eloise nudged Edwina beside her with her elbow.

Edwina looked up then, a faint blush still on her face.

"What's wrong with you?" Eloise looked at her with amusement.

Edwina's eyes drifted down, "No, nothing's wrong."

"Edwina, you ..."

"We're going to see the kids." Edwina was afraid she might say something scary and hurriedly pulled her towards the playroom.

The three children were getting along well and having a good time.

Seeing them enter, Solomon asks, "Is it lunchtime, Mummy?"

Eloise nods, "Yes, it's time for lunch. You guys go wash your hands first, okay?"

"Yes." The three children answered in unison.

Eloise looked at them, a gentle smile on her pretty face.

A short time later, Brimlad's voice came, "Eloise, come down, it's time to eat."

As soon as the three children heard this, they put down the toys they were holding and ran out.

"They're so self-conscious." Edwina was a little dumbfounded, expecting to have to persuade them for a while before they would come downstairs. "Must be hungry." Eloise smiled at her, "Let's go down too."

...

As they ate, Brimlad always looked up at Bonnie every now and then.

Eloise noticed and couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong, little aunt?"

"Huh?" Brimlad froze for a moment, then smiled and said, "Edwina looks so young and her son is so old."

At that, Edwina's hand gave a start as she took her food, her expression slightly uncomfortable.

Eloise looked over and explained for her, "Bonnie is Edwina's sister's child."

"Sister's child?"

Not only Brimlad, but even Edgar was surprised.

They both thought Bonnie was Edwina's real son.

Edwina put down her dishes and clenched her hands unconsciously, "Well, it's my sister's child."

"And your sister?" Brimlad asked naturally.

"She... passed away."

The atmosphere became heavy for a moment.

Brimlad hurriedly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know that was the case."

Edwina smiled and shook her head, "Auntie, you don't need to apologise, I didn't make myself clear."

Brimlad regretted that if she had known this was the case, she should not have asked such a question out of curiosity, she would have been poking someone in the gut.

At the same time, she felt more than a little bit of pain for Edwina and Bonnie.

"It's really hard for you, being so young and raising a child." Brimlad said heartily.

"It's not hard. After all these years, Bonnie and I have long been as close as biological."

Edwina has never found it hard, and watching Bonnie grow up day by day has been nothing but a source of comfort and happiness.

If Bonnie hadn't been there for her, she really would have been alone after her sister left.

"I admire your mentality." Brimlad couldn't help but look at her in a different light.

Following this, she looks at Eloise and says, "Eloise, learn more from Edwina's mentality, think about everything and things will go smoothly." Eloise nodded, "Yeah, got it."

In fact, she had been trying to cheer herself up for the past two days.

She was trying not to think about it, but whenever she was alone, fear and worry kept swirling around inside her.

As long as Hector didn't come back, she couldn't be truly happy.

"Come on, Mum, let's not talk about it, the food's getting cold." Edgar, who had been silent, couldn't help but speak up, fearing that if we kept talking, the meal would take an unknown amount of time. Brimlad then realised that he was talking too much and hurriedly said, "Edwina, eat more, and Bonnie too."
