Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1118: Don't dare to climb high

"That's a good boy." Edwina smiled and stroked Solomon's head, turned her head to Bonnie and said, "Bonnie, is there a name for Aunt Eloise?" Bonnie stood up at that, "Aunt Eloise."

Eloise lost her smile, "Don't be so formal, just make yourself at home."

"Is that okay?" Bonnie asked cautiously.

"Of course."

With her affirmative answer, Bonnie looked around the room, a hint of envy in his eyes.

He also wanted to live in a house this big.

"Bonnie."

Bonnie turned his head to look at Edwina, only to see Edwina shake her head gently.

He was a smart boy and understood the meaning instantly, and hurriedly sat upright, not daring to look around again.

Seeing this, Eloise couldn't help but say, "Edwina, you're really being too insensitive."

Edwina stroked Bonnie's head and a helpless smile spread across the corners of her mouth, "Miss. Eloise, Bonnie is still young and I don't want him to expect things he shouldn't have, and I'm not capable of that." The atmosphere instantly became a little depressing.

Eloise hurriedly changed the subject, "Solomon, take Mr. Bonnie and his sister upstairs and play while I talk to your Aunt Edwina."

Solomon answered "yes" and walked over to Bonnie, "Mr. Bonnie, come play with me upstairs."

Bonnie cast a questioning glance at Edwina and when she nodded, he dared to stand up and follow Solomon and Sweety upstairs.

It was only after the children had gone that Edwina spoke up, "Miss. Eloise, are you all right?"

With the events of that day still fresh in her mind, the foreign woman was not a nice person and she had been worried that Miss Eloise might be hurt.

"I'm fine." Eloise pursed her lips and smiled.

Edwina breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good."

Both fell into silence and just sat there in silence, not knowing what to say for a moment.

Just then, Brimlad came over with the tea and snacks.

"Eloise, there's your friend." Brimlad looked at Edwina with a smile.

Edwina hurriedly stood up and Edwina nodded, "Hello, Aunty."

"Hello, sit down." Brimlad gestured for her to sit down and brought her the tea, "This is the flower tea I made with my own hands, have some." "Thank you, Auntie."

Edwina took it and took a sip, her eyes lighting up, "It's delicious."

Brimlad instantly smiled like a flower, "That's good."

"My brother-in-law usually likes to make bubble tea and bake biscuits and stuff, now she'll be happy to hear you say it's good."

Eloise raised an eyebrow at Brimlad, "Isn't that right? Little aunt."

"That's for sure." Brimlad smiled, "Try the biscuits and see if they're good."

Edwina obediently took a biscuit and put it in her mouth, the rich, creamy flavour instantly filled her mouth, a taste she loved.

She nodded seriously at once, "It's delicious, I like it a lot."

"Eat more if you like it." Brimlad pushed a plate of biscuits in front of her.

"Thank you Auntie."

"You're welcome." Brimlad smiled at her and turned to Eloise, "Take your time, I'll go and prepare lunch."

Following that, she added to Edwina, "Stay for lunch at noon."

"No, we'll just go back and eat." Edwina didn't dare to stay too long, so she politely refused.

At that, Brimlad looked at her, "Are you afraid that my food is not to your liking?"

"No, no, that's not what I meant." Edwina thought she was really angry and panicked.

Eloise couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Auntie, don't scare Edwina like that."

Brimlad laughed too, "It's decided then, stay for lunch."

Not waiting for Edwina to react, Brimlad walked away.

Edwina blinked, a little confused, "Your brother-in-law isn't really angry?"

Eloise nodded, "Well, she's not angry, you don't have to be afraid."

"That's good." Edwina let out a huge sigh of relief and smiled helplessly, "I really thought she was angry."

"My brother-in-law is very nice and funny, you'll know that when you get to know her more in the future." Eloise said. Edwina nodded, "Good."

But that was just talk, how could she possibly get to know more?

After all, the Khan family was a powerful family, and she couldn't and wouldn't dare to climb the ladder of mediocrity.

It was close to noon when Edgar suddenly returned.

Eloise was surprised, "What's wrong with you, why are you back at noon?"

"I left a document at home and came back to get it." Edgar said, his gaze going to Edwina beside her.

Edwina nodded at him in greeting.

He nodded back and took a big step towards the stairs.

Eloise withdrew her gaze and muttered in a small voice, "That's too much of a coincidence."

"Miss. Eloise, what are you talking about?" Edwina asked curiously, not hearing.

Eloise looked up at her and hesitated for a few seconds before lifting the corners of her lips and saying, "Nothing." "Doesn't Mr Edgar usually come back at noon?" Edwina asked.

"He's busy at work, he doesn't have time to come back at noon, he usually comes home in the evening after work." Edwina nodded, "That's really hard."

She couldn't help but look upstairs, was it her lucky day? It was amazing to meet him coming home at noon.

Eloise looked at her, thoughtfully, and asked, "Edwina, what do you think of my cousin?"

"Very nice." Edwina returned matter-of-factly.

"Just a very good?" Eloise raised her eyebrows gently, "Isn't there anything else?"

"Well ..." Edwina thought seriously, "very tall and handsome and nice."

After answering her question, Edwina felt her whole face burning and hurriedly picked up her flower tea and sipped it to hide her restless heart. Seeing her blush, Eloise raised her eyebrows, "So... would you like him?"

"Ahem!" Edwina almost spat out a mouthful of tea.

Eloise hurriedly handed her some tissues and said with some amusement, "I was just asking, why are you reacting so badly? Did I say it right?" "Miss. Eloise!" said Edwina, her whole face flushed red and her voice trembling a little, "I ... don't like him."

"Is that so?" Eloise stared at her suspiciously, "If you didn't like him, why are you blushing so much?"

"It's not like I'm choking." Edwina coughed a few times to prove that she really was choking. But this seemed to Eloise to be a bit of a no-brainer.

She sighed in mock disappointment, "My cousin is so good, I can't believe you don't like it."

"I ... mean, Mr Edgar is so good that there must be many girls who like him, not less than me." When she said this, for some reason, her heart was a little sour and astringent.
