Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1147: I'll make sure you die without a scratch

Late

night.

A black figure wandered outside the old Khan family home, but kept his eyes on the mansion.

This man is no other than Carl.

He had promised Lisa himself that he could take care of Eloise, but over a week had passed and he still hadn't finished the job.

The main reason is that he has no way of sneaking into the old Khan family home, not to mention the fact that the fences are covered with surveillance and even the bodyguards inside are on a twenty-four hour shift system. Not even a fly could get in.

He stared at the Khan family home in the night, chagrined.

If he didn't finish the job, Mrs. Lisa would not let him go.

He gritted his teeth and decided to make a break for it, and just as he was about to rush up, two men appeared just in time to block his way.

"Who are you?" He stared warily at the two tall, black-clad men in front of him.

They were foreigners, just like him.

At once, his mind was made up and his eyes narrowed slightly, "You are Mr Bergerian's men?"

The other man looked at him expressionlessly, "Monsieur wants to see you."

What was coming was coming.

Carl knew it was useless to resist, so he let them take him away.

...

Once he saw Bergerian, Carl bowed his head respectfully, "Sir."

Bergerian gently shook the wine in his hand and said in a deep voice without looking back, "Carl, you're getting bolder by the minute." "I don't dare."

"Don't dare?" Bergerian grunted, "If you didn't dare, how come you're hiding for Madame that she hasn't returned? Hmm?"

A cold sweat broke out on Carl's forehead as he clenched his fists and argued carefully, "Madame asked me to keep it from you."

"If it hadn't been for the word from Italy that Madame hadn't gone back, I wouldn't have known you were even in Kyoto."

Bergerian tilted his head and took a sip of his wine, turning to Carl with a stern gaze, "Say, where is Lisa now?"

"She's at...," Carl hesitated.

If he told Monsieur where Madame was living now, she would not let him off the hook.

But if he didn't, Monsieur wouldn't let him go either.

Just as he was hesitating, Bergerian spoke out, "Carl, don't forget that you are the person I put in charge of Lisa's side, when did you become so obedient to Lisa?" His voice was calm, but the warning could be heard in his words.

Carl hurriedly said, "I dare not forget."

"Well then, tell me where Lisa is now."

There was no choice.

Carl closed his eyes and told Bergerian where Lisa was now.

Bergerian listened and gave a wink to Matthew, who understood, nodded and hurried away.

Hearing the door open and close, Carl knew it was over.

Madame had really pissed off Monsieur this time.

Bergerian put down the glass in his hand and took a step towards Carl.

The footsteps sounded like they were stepping on Carl's heart and he couldn't help but feel scared.

Bergerian stepped in front of him and, with a scowl, lifted his leg and kicked him in the face.

Carl flew out at once, hitting the cupboard hard and landing hard on the floor.

Bergerian walked over with an expressionless face and stomped on his head, "I told you, no one who betrays me comes to a good end."

The cruel voice fell from above his head, Carl couldn't care less about the pain and begged for mercy, "Sir, please give me another chance, I will make up for my mistake." "Give you a chance?" Bergerian laughed coldly and ground his foot down, his face was ruthless, "I never give people a chance, you should know that."

With that, he gave his foot another push.

"Ah!" Even though Carl was so tall and strong he couldn't help but wail out.

"Sir, please, give me one more chance." Carl begged bitterly, holding back the pain.

Bergerian withdrew his foot and the corners of his mouth curled into a cold smile, "Don't worry, I won't kill you, I'm still relying on you to keep an eye on Lisa for me."

At those words, Carl sighed in relief, "Thank you sir, I will not betray you again."

"Is that so?" Bergerian turned and walked over to pick up his glass, took a sip and continued, "Just remember, if you betray me one more time, I will make sure you die without a scratch." The voice, which obviously sounded calm, sent shivers down one's spine.

Carl hurriedly rose to his feet and respectfully responded, "Yes."

He knew Bergerian's nature well, he could spare him today only because he was still of use, he had to make use of this opportunity and behave well in order to survive.

...

All this time because of Eloise, Lisa had been losing sleep and every day she had to call to ask Carl if he had finished his mission.

But today it was strange, the phone kept ringing off the hook.

Finally, she was so angry that she threw the phone on the bed and walked around the room in annoyance.

"What is this Carl doing? Not even answering the phone!"

Suddenly something occurred to her, "Has he been found out?"

The more she thought about it the more she thought the possibilities were high.

"Rubbish, really rubbish, to have failed again!"

At that moment, a doorbell suddenly rang outside the room.

Lisa was instantly alert, who could it be at this late hour?

She walked out, went to the foyer and shouted, "Who is it?"

There was silence outside, not a sound.

Could someone have rung the doorbell maliciously?

Just as she thought so, the doorbell rang again, startling her.

She slapped her chest and shouted again, "Who the hell is it? I won't open the door until you tell me!"

"Madam, it's me."

A familiar voice came in from outside and Lisa's face went white, it was Matthew.

How did he know she was here?

Did Bergerian also know she hadn't returned to Italy?

It was over!

It must be Carl who had been found out.

Lisa panicked and didn't know what to do, she stood and spun around, then took a deep breath, "Lisa don't panic, even if Bergerian knew you weren't back in Italy he couldn't do anything to you, remember you are an Agnelli Family." Reassuring herself, she went up and opened the door.

Matthew was standing just outside the door and bowed his head respectfully, "Ma'am."

Lisa asked calmly, "The Bergerian sent you, didn't he?"

"Yes."

"You guys come in first and wait for me to change."

Matthew and the others walked in after her and watched her go into the room.

After about ten minutes or so, Lisa changed and came out.

"Let's go."

Matthew raised an eyebrow at the lack of panic on her face, she was a true member of the Agnelli family, so calm and collected no matter what happened.

On the way, Lisa kept her head turned to look out of the window, her face not showing a hint of expression, but her mind was already organising what to say. She didn't want to make things worse with Bergerian, so she had to explain that she hadn't gone back to Italy.

At the very least, she could fool Bergerian.

Of course she knew it might be difficult, but she had to do it anyway.

As soon as she saw Bergerian, Lisa pounced on him and said daintily, "Darling, you found out after all."
