Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1149: Never Letting Go

Early the next morning, after breakfast, Edgar drove Eloise to the hospital.

Maryam was happy to see Eloise come over, but when she saw her injured arm, her smile faded instantly and she asked anxiously, "What's wrong? How did it get hurt?" "Mum, don't worry. I've fallen down the stairs by accident." Eloise had thought of something to say long before she arrived.

"How could you be so careless?" Maryam was distraught.

Eloise smiled, "Mum, it's almost done, it's fine."

"That's good." Maryam sighed in relief and looked up at Edgar, "Edgar, why did you have time to come over today?"

"Wanted to see Grandpa, so I took the time to come over." Edgar said.

Maryam nodded, "Then you guys go and see, we'll talk later."

"Mum, my cousin and I are going to see Grandpa, so you can eat your breakfast first." Eloise said as she and Edgar headed out the door.

Maryam gave a helpless smile, "Got it."

Maryam watched them go out before she sat down and began to eat the breakfast Eloise had brought.

About a few minutes later, a figure appeared at the door of the ward, he looked inside and his eyes couldn't help but show a hint of longing when he caught sight of Maryam. He lifted his foot to walk in, but then hesitantly withdrew it and turned to walk away.

Eloise came out of the old man's ward and without realising it, saw a familiar figure and furrowed her thin brows.

Was it him?

With suspicion, she ran towards the man.

"Dad."

She shouted, and the man in front of her visibly stiffened his back, stopped and slowly turned his head. Sure enough, it was Josh.

Looking at him, Eloise had a bit of a mixed feeling as she stepped forward, "Are you here to see my mum?" Josh smiled shyly, "Yes."

He saw her injured arm and asked in surprise, "What's wrong with it?"

"It's a fall." Eloise said gently, and the conversation turned, "Why didn't you come in when you were here?"

"I don't have the face to go see your mother."

The thought of what he had done to hurt them, mother and daughter, overwhelmed him with an instant remorse, and he was even more ashamed to see Maryam.

"But aren't you here?" Although she didn't feel much affection for him anymore, there was something about looking at his pale appearance that she couldn't bear. Josh looked over to Maryam's hospital room, a bitter smile spreading at the corners of his mouth, "I don't think your mother would want to see me."

He withdrew his gaze and smiled at Eloise, "Never mind, I'd rather not go in to see her. Off you go."

With that, he turned to leave.

Eloise was furious and shouted at him, "Why are you still as useless as ever? You ignored that mother and daughter's bullying of me and even helped them!" Josh stood motionless, his hands slowly clenching at his side, his eyes reddening as he thought of the foolish things he had done in the past.

He would always be sorry for Maryam and Eloise.

"Now that you feel sorry for me and my mother, all the more reason for you to go to my mother and ask for her forgiveness!"

Tears slowly flowing down her face, Eloise choked out, "Why are you just so clueless?"

Hearing her cry, Josh hurriedly turned around and raised his hand to wipe the corners of his eyes, "Eloise, don't cry, I'll go, I'll go see your mother." Eloise wiped her tears, "You're not going to see her for me, you're going to see her because you're sorry."

Josh nodded, "I know."

"Then let's go."

Eloise led him into the hospital room.

Seeing Eloise enter, Maryam put down her chopsticks, a smile on her face, and was about to speak, but it slowly faded at the sight of Josh behind her. "Maryam," Josh called cautiously as he walked up to her.

A familiar person, a familiar voice.

Maryam squeezed her palms together and turned her face away, questioning coldly, "Eloise, what did you bring him for?"

"Mum, Dad is here to see you."

"Dad?" Maryam snorted, "Who is he to be your father? Don't you forget how he used to help that mother and daughter bully us."

"Mum, I remember all that. But no matter what, that mother and daughter have gotten what they deserved and Dad knows he was wrong ..." Before Eloise could finish her sentence, she was coldly interrupted by Maryam, "What's the use of knowing it's wrong, the damage is done." "Maryam ..."

Josh had just opened his mouth to call out when he was interrupted by Maryam's stern voice, "Don't call my name!"

Josh was at a loss for words and threw a pleading look at Eloise for help.

Eloise sighed and went to her mother's side and said softly, "Mum, I've let go of the past, don't be angry."

"You're over it, I'm not over it." Maryam glanced coldly at Josh, "I've never let go of it in my life."

Especially not after she came back to the Khan family.

Thinking back to the time when she had trusted him and loved him, she had broken up with her father in a capricious manner and run away from home, causing her mother to pass away without her knowing, without even seeing the last of her.

Her father was still lying in the next ward, unconscious, so she couldn't forgive herself, much less Josh.

"Mum." Eloise was helpless.

Seeing this, Josh smiled bitterly, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come to bother you. I'll leave now."

With those words, he turned to leave.

As he was about to reach the door, a voice full of sarcasm sounded behind him, "Giving up just like that? I see you didn't really come to see me either."

At that, Josh stopped, "If you don't want to see me, then why are you saying such sarcastic things about me."

Eloise raised her hand to her forehead and shook her head with a sigh, "Dad, do you not understand the meaning of my mother's words?"

"What does it mean?" Josh turned back to her and looked at her in confusion, then at Maryam.

"It means..." Eloise didn't know how to explain it for a moment and she waved her hand, "Never mind, you two can talk about it yourselves." She walked out, leaving the ward to the two of them.

Josh looked confused, "What does Eloise mean by that?"

Maryam gave him a cold glance and grunted, "What age is this, and you're senile?"

"I ..." Josh was about to explain when he suddenly realised something more important and exclaimed in surprise, "Maryam, you're not kicking me out?"

"Did I kick you out?" Maryam asked instead of answering.

"No, no." Josh was a little overwhelmed with surprise to see that her attitude was obviously much better than it had been earlier.

Maryam looked at him coldly, "Don't think this is me forgiving you, I just don't want to put Eloise in a difficult position, so if you have something to say, just say it." "I... just came to see you and to apologise for what happened before."

He stood right there in the doorway, his head bowed, looking a little miserable.

Maryam couldn't help but feel a little less resentment in her heart, but her mouth was still unforgiving, "Do you think an apology will erase the damage you've caused?"
