Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1166: Just call me by my name

The next morning, Brimlad got up to replace that the cake was gone.

A little bemused, she smiled and said to herself, "Did some glutton eat it, or was it thrown away?"

"Housekeeper, have you seen the cake on the dining table?" She turned her head to ask the housekeeper who was busy.

The butler stopped what he was doing and looked up, "No."

"Then what's going on?" Brimlad looked confused.

Just then, Edgar returned from his morning walk and went straight into the kitchen to pour a drink of water, glancing out of the corner of his eye to see Brimlad standing in the dining room. "What are you thinking about, Mum?" He asked curiously as he walked over.

Brimlad thought for a moment and pointed to the dining room table, "Edwina brought over a cake yesterday and I left it on the dining room table and found it missing when I got up in the morning." "A cake?" Edgar raised an eyebrow, "I ate it."

"You ate it?" Brimlad was taken aback.

Seeing her shocked face, Edgar couldn't help but laugh, "What, I can't eat it?"

"No, haven't you always hated sweets?"

Brimlad remembered that the cake was quite big and he ate the whole thing, not like his usual self.

Usually he wouldn't touch sweets at all.

"Anything tastes good when you're hungry."

Edgar's eyes drifted down and he asked, pretending to be careless, "You said that cake was from Edwina?"

"Yeah, she made it herself, it was supposed to be delivered to Solomon and Sweety, who knew Solomon and the others were back at City J."

"Oh." Edgar smiled and said, "Mum, I'm going upstairs to have a shower, I'll skip breakfast."

"Why don't you eat breakfast?" Brimlad asked in a raised voice as he watched his back.

"Something's come up."

Edgar hurried upstairs.

Showered and changed, Edgar went straight out the door.

As he drove, he turned his head to look at the bag on the passenger seat.

Inside the bag was the four-leaf clover diamond necklace.

This time, he made sure to give it away.

...

Edwina dropped Bonnie off at school and went straight to the shop.

Today she was on the early shift.

Once she arrived at the shop, she changed into her uniform and started doing cleaning work with her colleague.

Her colleague suddenly shouted out, "Edwina, there's a handsome guy outside looking at us."

Edwina looked speechlessly at her colleague, whose eyes were red with joy, and turned her head to look in the direction she had mentioned.

Through the window glass, she saw Edgar standing not far away, and the smile on her face slowly faded.

Seeing her staring straight at him, her colleague nudged her with her elbow and teased, "I never thought you'd see a handsome man with your eyes glazed over one day." "I'm going out for a while." Edwina threw down the rag and headed out.

The colleague was bewildered, "Where are you going?"

The next thing she knew, she saw Edwina walking towards the handsome man and couldn't help but suck in her breath, "Oh my God, they don't know each other, do they?" Edwina walked up to Edgar and pursed her lips in a smile, "What brings you here?"

Edgar raised an eyebrow, "Stopped by."

"Oh." Edwina nodded.

A silence fell over the two.

Edwina lowered her head and bit her lip, struggling to replace something to talk about.

At that moment, Edgar spoke, "I heard it was your birthday the other day, wasn't it?"

Edwina looked up and unexpectedly met his dark, deep eyes, her heart fluttering hard, she hurriedly averted her eyes and gave a soft "yes".

"I was supposed to give it to you the day after your birthday, but when I saw Thomas coming for you that day, I didn't go in to look for you."

Edgar suddenly brought this up with a vague sense of anticipation, he wanted to hear her explanation.

"Thomas?" thought Edwina for a moment and then burst out laughing, "You mean that day, he came to bring me biscuits, Miss. Eloise told him to come over."

"So that's it." Edgar sighed in dark relief as he looked at the bag in his hand and handed it out, "Here's my present for you."

Edwina glanced at the letters on the outside of the bag and remembered that it was the bag from the jewellery shop where she had accompanied him to pick out a present for Elva. "No need." She refused, "I can't accept such an expensive gift."

"You won't accept it?" Edgar said deliberately, "Then I'll throw it away, I don't use it anyway."

With that, he walked to a side bin.

"Wait." Edwina hurried after him and grabbed the bag, "I'll take it, thank you."

She clutched the bag tightly in her arms, her heart beating at him.

Edgar smiled, "Aren't you going to open it?"

Edwina gave him a look, took the flannel box out of the bag and opened it.

Her eyes widened at the sight of the necklace inside the box and she looked up at Edgar in disbelief.

Only to hear his gentle voice ringing in her ears, "I saw how much you liked this necklace the other day, and after you left, I went in and bought it, thinking I'd give it to you sometime." Touching her heart, Edwina looked at him who was smiling gently and lightly, and the corners of her eyes were moist with Edwina.

It felt good to be thought of.

But she couldn't get ahead of herself, he just thought of her as a friend.

Taking a deep breath, Edwina smiled brightly, "Thank you, Mr Farabee."

The name "Mr Farabee" made Edgar frown, "You don't have to call me Mr Farabee, just call me by my first name."

Edwina froze, calling him by his first name?

Edgar?

Mo was a bit embarrassed, she didn't dare to shout like that, so she compromised and came up with a name.

"I'll call you Brother Fang."

Edgar frowned, not quite satisfied, but nodded, "Okay."

"Thank you, Brother Fang."

Edwina put the necklace away, "Have you eaten breakfast yet?"

"Not yet."

Edwina thought he would say he had eaten, but she didn't expect to eat yet. Edwina was stunned for a moment, then reacted and turned her head to look at the shop, her colleague was still cleaning up. "Tell you what, I'll take you to breakfast." Edwina suggested.

Edgar nodded, "Okay."

"Wait for me then, I'll go and talk to my colleague."

Edgar watched her run into the shop with a tenderness in her eyes that he didn't know existed.

"Edwina, you know that handsome guy, don't you?" The colleague hurriedly asked after Edwina as soon as she saw her enter.

Edwina nodded, "Well, a friend."

"A friend? You have such a handsome friend, why don't you introduce him to me."

"He's got a fiancée." Edwina thought of Elva and felt a little bit of a blockage in her heart.

The colleague was deflated, "He's taken, so forget it."

"I'll take him to breakfast, I'll be back later." Edwina said.

The colleague nodded, "OK, you go ahead. I'll talk to the manager for you."

"Thanks." Edwina was grateful.

"You're welcome, go on, don't keep anyone waiting too long."

The colleague watched her run out, the smile on her face fading to more than a little concern.

Although Edwina said that she and that handsome guy were just friends and that the other guy had a fiancée now, was it okay for Edwina to get so close to him?
