Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1187: Your husband is so nice
"What are you doing here?"
It was some distance from his company, unless ....
Edwina hurriedly shook her head, don't think about it, how could he be following you on purpose? "What are you talking about?"
"Huh?"
At his question, Edwina was startled and realised she had muttered out what was on her mind.
But luckily it was so quiet that he didn't hear it.
She laughed and shook her head, "Nothing. By the way, you haven't told me how you ended up here?"
"I saw you as I was passing by."
Edwina followed his line of sight before she spotted the car parked on the side of the road.
So, he had stopped on purpose for her.
Although she had warned herself against making a fool of herself, she couldn't help it.
She smiled shyly, not knowing what to say for a moment.
It was Edgar who seemed much more at ease, speaking up and asking, "You're off work?" "Yeah."
"Going home?"
"No, going to the supermarket to do some shopping."
"I'll go with you."
"Okay."
Edwina subconsciously blurted out, and by the time she reacted it was too late.
She hurriedly explained, "No, I mean if you're busy, you don't have to go with me, I'll be fine on my own."
But after explaining, it felt wrong again.
She turned her head and bit her lip in chagrin.
Oh God!
What the hell was she talking about?
They were just friends, and this explanation was somehow ambiguous.
Edgar didn't think anything was wrong and he laughed lightly, "It's okay. I'm not busy and I happen to want to take a walk." The look on his face was serious, not like he was joking.
Helplessly, Edwina could only nod, "Alright then."
It was only a short distance from the supermarket Edwina was going to, and they both walked there together.
On the way, Edwina clutched the strap of her bag, her heart inexplicably beating fast.
Despite the distance between them, she could still feel the powerful aura emanating from him, which was impossible to ignore.
Once inside the supermarket, Edwina headed towards the area where the trolley was kept.
Watching her push the cart over, Edgar opened his lips and said, "Let me push it."
"No need."
Edwina refused.
It was too much to ask a big president like him to do such a thing.
"It's okay, I'll do it."
Edgar grabbed the trolley out of her hand and asked with a smile, "What do you want to buy first?"
Edwina couldn't do anything about it but sigh.
She looked around, "Let's go to the fresh produce section."
"Okay."
Edgar pushed the cart after her, watching her slender back with a tenderness in his eyes that he was not aware of.
Afraid of delaying Edgar's time, Edwina tried her best not to pick out anything and put it in the cart as she saw it.
In a short while, she had almost everything she wanted to buy.
Edgar looked at the ingredients in the car and raised his eyebrows, "Hotpot tonight?"
Edwina said, "Bonnie wants to eat, I just got off work early enough to make it today."
Edgar nodded and then smiled, "Actually, I haven't had hotpot in a long time either." Was he implying that she was inviting him?
Edwina hesitated for a moment.
Should she just ask for an invitation or pretend she didn't understand what he was saying?
Just when she couldn't decide, Edgar suddenly said, "There are shrimps over there, let's go over there."
When Edwina looked back, he was already pushing the cart over.
Looking at his back, Edwina sighed, "Maybe he was just saying that casually, don't get carried away.
At the checkout, Edwina looked down to take out her mobile phone when she heard the cashier say, "Sir, please enter your password."
She hurriedly looked up, only to see Edgar entering his password on the card machine. She was so anxious that she couldn't care less and grabbed his hand straight away. "I'll just do it myself."
Edgar didn't say anything, but lowered his eyes, his eyes falling on her hands.
Her hand was a little cold.
Edwina followed his gaze, panicked and hurriedly withdrew her hand.
At this point, Edgar took the opportunity to press the code.
The payment was successful.
"You ..." Edwina was lost for words for a moment not knowing what to say.
"Let's go." Edgar lifted the two large bags of stuff and headed out first.
Edwina could only sigh and hurry to follow.
...
Edgar drove Edwina to the entrance of the neighborhood.
Edwina unbuckled her seatbelt and hesitated before she spoke, "Do you want to join us?"
"Hmm?" Edgar turned his head and looked at her quizzically.
"For hotpot." Edwina smiled uncomfortably, "I bought so much, and Bonnie and I can't finish it, so if it's convenient for you, how about having a hot pot together?" After saying that, Edwina was so nervous that she squeezed her palms tightly.
In fact, she was very conflicted in her heart right now.
She wanted him to say yes, but she also wanted him to say no.
Edgar looked at her quietly and did not answer.
It was quiet in the car, so quiet that it was a bit awkward.
Feeling uncomfortable, Edwina laughed dryly and said, "You're so busy, surely you don't have time to stay for any hotpot."
So she shouldn't have opened her mouth in the first place, this was a really awkward moment.
"Thank you for today."
After saying this, she opened the door to get out of the car.
"Wait."
Edgar took her hand.
Her heart fluttered hard.
Edwina turned her head slowly.
She heard him say, "I can't eat spicy food."
"Then don't eat spicy." Edwina blurted out.
The next moment, she met his smiling eyes, and her face could not help but burn a little.
It felt as if he had read her mind.
She hurriedly drew back her hand and said, "Let's hurry up."
With those words, she hurriedly got out of the car.
Edgar couldn't help but laugh at how cute she was.
Edwina tried to help carry her things, but was refused.
"Since I'm coming to rub it in, it's only right to do something."
Edwina wanted to say that he had paid for everything, so it wasn't like she was dilly-dallying.
But the words didn't come out.
"I'm going to press the lift."
She ran towards the lift.
By the time Edgar came over, the lift arrived just in time.
The lift doors opened and a middle-aged couple stepped out.
When the woman saw Edgar carrying his things, she smiled and said to Edwina, "Your husband is so nice, he knows to carry your things for you. My husband never does that." Hearing the woman's words, her husband immediately retorted with displeasure, "Don't talk nonsense, when have I not helped you carry your things?"
Seeing that they were about to get into a fight, Edwina couldn't explain and hurriedly pulled Edgar into the lift.
Once the door closed, she turned her head to Edgar and smiled shyly, "That person misunderstood, don't take it to heart."
Edgar smiled gently, "It's alright."
In fact, just now she was running towards the lift and he was walking slowly behind her, it really somehow made him feel like an old married couple.
He wasn't sure why he felt that way.
But it wasn't repulsive.
When he got home, Bonnie was already back from school.
The child's eyes went wide with instant shock when she saw Edgar.
It took a moment to replace her voice, "Uncle Edgar, what are you doing here?"
