Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1188: Are you a dog's nose

Edwina walked over and gently patted him on the back, "How do you talk? You're supposed to say welcome Uncle Edgar." Bonnie spat out her tongue, "Welcome Uncle Edgar."

Uncle Edgar smiled as he carried his things to the kitchen and asked, "Is this how you usually raise your kids?"

"Not really." Edwina hurried over to follow, "Bonnie is rarely taught normally, he knows how to behave."

"Uncle, I'm very sensible and obedient." Bonnie echoed with a smile.

Edgar put his things away and came up to Bonnie, teasingly saying, "No one boasts about themselves."

"I'm not boasting, I'm telling the truth." Bonnie lifted her chin proudly.

Edgar lost his smile and rubbed his head.

Seeing how naturally the two of them got along, Edwina smiled back.

"Do you need help?" Edgar turned around just in time to see the smile on her face and his eyes instantly softened.

Edwina didn't notice and shook her head, "No, I'll be fine on my own."

"Uncle, if you don't help, my mum might have to dawdle until late before we can have our hotpot." Bonnie whispered in his ear.

Edgar glanced at Edwina who was heading towards the kitchen and the corner of his mouth curled, "I'll go over and help then, you can play by yourself." "Good."

Bonnie saw him heading for the kitchen as well and covered her mouth to snicker.

Now Mum would have a chance to be alone with Uncle Edgar.

...

Edwina put on her apron and as her hand went around the back to tie the belt, a crisp, fresh scent hit her.

Looking back, it was Edgar.

He had helped her tie the apron.

Why did he always do things like this so naturally?

So natural that for a moment she thought they were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Edwina shook her head hurriedly to shake the ridiculous thought out of her head.

"Mr. Edgar, can you ..."

She wanted to say could he not do such things that would make her think more.

But seeing him looking as normal, she realized with a jolt that he probably just did that in passing and didn't think too much about it.

In comparison, it was really her who was overthinking things, and she couldn't blame him.

She couldn't help but sigh at the thought.

Edgar looked at her with amusement, "Why the sudden sigh?"

Edwina shook her head in a hurry, "Nothing."

"Go and sit in the living room, you don't have to help me." She said.

Edgar raised his eyebrows, "I can't dine for nothing, it's better to help out a little."

"You paid for the stuff, it's not dilly-dallying." Edwina muttered in a small voice.

Edgar smiled and said nothing more, but went straight to the bag and took out the contents.

Seeing this, Edwina rushed forward to stop her, "You really don't need to help, I can do it myself."

Edgar avoided her hand and turned his head to her and said seriously, "If you keep arguing with me, we won't be having hotpot tonight."

Unable to resist him, Edwina had no choice but to go along with him. However, with his help, after nearly half an hour, they had their hotpot.

Edwina had cooked a tomato pot because Edgar did not like spicy food.

"Mr. Edgar, just make yourself at home and feel free." Edwina handed him the chopsticks.

Edgar smiles, "Okay."

...

The old Khan family home.

Eloise walks into the dining room, notices that there are only two sets of dishes on the table and asks in confusion, "Isn't cousin coming back for dinner?" "Well, said he was with friends." Brimlad put the soup on the table and frowned in thought, "Do you think he could be with Ainsley?"

"I'm not sure about anyone else, but Ainsley definitely not." Eloise pulled back her chair and sat down, "There's no way cousin is with her."

Brimlad shot her a disgruntled look, "Why do you always like to throw water on me, you child?"

"Auntie, I'm not throwing cold water on you, I'm telling you to face reality sooner."

Brimlad handed her a bowl of soup, "When your brother-in-law returns, we must talk about the marriage."

Eloise's eyes widened in surprise at this, "Auntie, do you really want your cousin to marry Ainsley?"

Hadn't she been told that Ainsley was a bad person? Why did she still have such an idea?

Brimlad sighed, "At the moment, Ainsley is the best fit for Edgar, and the Boone Family can help Edgar."

Eloise took a sip of her soup and tried, "And because of that, you're going to disregard your cousin's happiness for the rest of his life?"

"Your mother fell out with the old man and the others for her own happiness, but what did she get in the end?"

Brimlad used Maryam as an example.

Eloise listened with a bit of dismay as she put down her spoon and said lightly, "My mother was cheated, not unlike her cousin's situation."

It was then that Brimlad realised he had said the wrong thing and hurried to explain, "Eloise, I didn't mean it like that, I just ..."

Eloise shook her head, "Auntie, it's okay."

The air was instantly quiet.

Brimlad looked at Eloise, secretly chagrined.

Which was a pot calling the kettle black.

It was stupid to bring up Maryam when you knew it was a pain in Eloise's heart.

Eloise took a few sips of her soup, but couldn't help but advise, "Auntie, I hope you'll think about your cousin's feelings and not force him to do something he doesn't like." Brimlad nodded, "Yes, I know."

Eloise looked at her and secretly sighed inwardly.

Although she was saying she knew, it was still unknown if she would actually do that.

Thinking about it, Eloise couldn't help but feel a little sorry for Edgar.

It would really be too sad if she couldn't even make up her own mind about her own happiness.

However, she was sure that her cousin would think clearly about who he really liked.

It was not until after ten o'clock in the night that Edgar arrived home.

He came upstairs humming and walked to the door of the study just as Eloise came out of her room.

When Eloise heard him humming, she raised a thin eyebrow and spoke out in a flirtatious voice: "Why are you in such a good mood today, cousin, did you pick up some money?"

As she approached, she suddenly smelt a strange odour.

Sniffing hard, her eyes lit up, "Did you have hotpot?"

Edgar laughed, "Are you a dog's nose, so good?"

"You're the one with the dog nose." Eloise shot him an irritated look.

Edgar grinned cheerfully.

Eloise's eyebrows furrowed slightly, "What are you so happy about, cousin?"

"Nothing." Edgar didn't move to change the subject, "Why are you still awake?"

"Wanted to go down for a drink of water."

Edgar nodded, "Go on then."

As Eloise passed him, her feet suddenly lurched and she turned her head with an ambiguous smile, "Cousin, you had hotpot with Edwina tonight, didn't you?" Was it that obvious?

Edgar raised his hand and touched his nose, "Would you believe me if I said no?"

Eloise laughed "heh heh" twice, "No."

The fact that he had asked the question meant she was right.
