Chapter 122: Will He Say Yes to the Engagement

Speaking of marriage, Reeva Lawson suddenly turns a little shy.

"The Rogers family are having dinner with my parents tonight, they're talking about the wedding ... Miss Eloise, I don't have many friends back in United Kingdom, and although I haven't known you for long, I feel like we have a connection. You must come to the wedding."

Eloise Thompson's heart felt as if something had hit her hard and her face turned a little pale as she tugged at her lips and said, "Good."

For some reason, it was clear that he was not going to be with her, but now that the two families were discussing marriage, and perhaps an engagement would not be long in coming, Eloise Thompson's heart felt like a knife, as if 10, 000 ants were stinging her, and the uncomfortable emotion was written on her face.

Reeva Lawson, seeing that her purpose had been achieved, smiled and said, "Sorry, I seem to be talking too much, sorry about that! I'll leave you to it, it's getting late and I can't keep Hector waiting."

"Hmm." Eloise Thompson nodded a perfunctory response.

Reeva Lawson stomped off on her heels, and the corners of her mouth curled in secret amusement.

She is just an abandoned daughter of the Thompson family, and she doesn't believe that she can't beat her.

However, Eloise Thompson knew that she was not good enough for Hector Rogers, so she broke off her relationship with him.

Reeva Lawson's eyes flashed with determination as the Hector parents were present tonight and she had to replace a way to get Hector Rogers to agree to the union.

Eloise Thompson stood transfixed, and when she looked back, a smile curled her lips as if she was laughing to herself, and who was she to be hard on herself. Wouldn't that be best?

Hector Rogers and Reeva Lawson are joined in marriage and everyone will look favourably on the engagement, unlike them, the whole Rogers family would be against it if they were together and no one on the outside would probably think they were good enough for him!

Eloise Thompson took a deep breath, gathered her emotions and headed to the auditorium.

Egbert Chumley gave her the front row, and Eloise Thompson looked for it by serial number, but was surprised to see Hector Rogers and Reeva Lawson, who happened to be next to Hector Rogers in the seat Egbert Chumley gave her. For a moment, Eloise Thompson was embarrassed - what a coincidence!

Hector Rogers saw Eloise Thompson from the moment she entered the auditorium, and the expression on his face was muted, and he didn't say anything.

Eloise Thompson couldn't leave if she wanted to, as the speech had already started and there was someone behind her urging, "Excuse me, class, could you get out of the way?" Eloise Thompson gritted her teeth and finally had to take a seat next to Hector Rogers.

Reeva Lawson blushed a little, as she too had not expected to see Eloise Thompson positioned next to Hector Rogers.

She narrowed her eyes slightly and asked pretentiously, "Hector, are you going to be at the Rogers family and Lawson family gathering tonight?"

"Hmm." Hector Rogers responded tersely, his mind on Eloise Thompson and not actually listening to what Reeva Lawson was saying.

At these words, Eloise Thompson's mind was in turmoil.

Will he agree to be engaged to Reeva Lawson?

Eloise Thompson sighed and thought to herself, I suppose so!

After all, both Fletcher Rogers and Matriarch Godbold must have been there during the evening and they would have found a way to get Hector Rogers to agree to the union. Eloise Thompson tried to keep herself calm, forcing herself to stop thinking about Hector Rogers, telling herself over and over that he was no longer her concern. Reeva Lawson sniffed and the corner of her mouth ticked up, not speaking anymore.

After the Director's speech, it was Egbert Chumley's turn to speak.

He is dressed in a black suit with an angular silhouette and handsome eyebrows like a fly.

With an air of gentleness and elegance all over, the girls in the room couldn't help but boil over as everyone looked at Egbert Chumley with eyes full of adoration. "Ahhhhh Mr Egbert is so handsome!"

"Yeah, yeah! It's like a dream come true, and I don't know if I have a girlfriend anymore."

"Oooooh the end of the speech seems to have gone to ask for his WhatsApp!"

The girls mingled excitedly until Egbert Chumley came on stage and introduced himself, then everyone quieted down and listened intently to the speech. Egbert Chumley first looked at Eloise Thompson on stage and smiled at her, who returned the smile.

It was then he saw Hector Rogers next to him, and Egbert Chumley gave a slight glance and a smile as a greeting.

Hector Rogers nodded faintly, with a slightly displeased expression on his face - after all, Eloise Thompson had come with Egbert Chumley.

The whole auditorium became quiet as the speech began, Egbert Chumley's warm voice coming over the microphone, and halfway through the talk he spoke about his university experience.

"The college years were really wonderful, back then, I was the president of the student union and I met a girl at the time that was very hard working and motivated and the two of us worked together and it was a really good time, really good memories."

As he speaks, Egbert Chumley's eyes take on a look of deep affection.

Egbert Chumley's mind is filled with memories of the past, and Eloise Thompson's baby face is right before his eyes.

He remembered that the first time they met was in the Student Council office, when she walked in and spoke boldly, "Hello President, I'm a freshman and I just joined the Student Council today, so please take care of me in the future."

I don't know why, but Egbert Chumley was so impressed by what was clearly an ordinary meeting.

In between jobs, he began to pay uncomfortable attention to the girl.

Egbert Chumley found out that he liked Eloise Thompson when he learned that she was with Robbie Gardner.

That overwhelming feeling of unbearable difficulty came over me for the first time.

It was then that he realised what it was like to love someone.

Thinking about it, Egbert Chumley couldn't help but feel a little regret in his heart, if he had been braver or tried to contact her after graduation, maybe they wouldn't have missed so many years and maybe they would have been together by

now ...

Reeva Lawson smiled as she listened and spoke, "From the sound of Egbert Chumley, he seems to like that girl a lot! I wonder if they're together."

Reeva Lawson has been following Eloise Thompson privately, and once she found out that he was seeing Egbert Chumley, a man, she also found out that he was Eloise Thompson's Alumni and had always been in love with Eloise Thompson.
