Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1249: Heart to Heart
Earlene gently closed the door to her room, her eyes Edwina narrowed, calculating at first glance.
It seemed that the wedding would have to be brought forward before the night was too long.
Who knew what else Eloise and the others would use to provoke Hector into regaining his memory.
She quickly descended the stairs and prepared to go to the office to see the Rawlins about the wedding.
Just as she reached the foyer, she saw Elo come in with flower garden pruners.
As soon as he saw her, Elo immediately stood still and bowed his head respectfully, "Miss."
"What are you doing?" Earlene asked sternly as she looked at the pruning shears in her hand.
"I'm thirsty and wanted to pour a glass of water." Elo explained hastily.
"Go on. Drink the water and hurry to the backyard, and if you're done, go to your room and stay there, don't go anywhere, okay?"
She had to go out now and Hector was home alone, so it would be a problem if they ran into each other.
Elo nodded, "Got it."
As she watched Earlene go out, Eloise sighed in relief and then curled her lips, a sly gleam in her pretty eyes.
With Earlene out of the house, wouldn't Hector be the only one left?
She hurriedly put the pruning shears in the foyer and walked quickly into the house, looking up to the first floor. Her heart beat a little faster.
Hector was on the first floor, she could see him if she went upstairs.
Just as she stepped onto the first flight of stairs, a familiar voice suddenly sounded behind her.
"Elo, what do you want?"
Frightened, she hurriedly withdrew her foot and turned around, smiling foolishly at the housekeeper, "Haven't I put on a bit of weight lately? I just read on my phone that climbing the stairs can help you lose weight." "So you just want to climb the stairs?" The housekeeper stepped closer, his scrutinizing gaze falling on her face.
"Yeah." Eloise shook her hands and smiled a little unnaturally.
The housekeeper looked up at the first floor and reminded her, "Don't you forget what Miss told you? She said you weren't to go up to the first floor." "Ted, don't worry, I've got it all in mind."
Following this, Eloise headed for the foyer, saying as she went, "The grass in this front yard isn't fixed yet, so I'll hurry and finish it."
With that, she took off in a huff, not forgetting to take the pruning shears with her.
The butler shook his head and sighed, "Elo is too unsettling, if I hadn't found her in time, she would have gone upstairs.
I think he needs to speak to the Prince sometime and ask him to persuade Elo to do less to upset the lady.
Eloise was absentmindedly pruning the flower beds, turning her head now and then to look at the balcony of Hector's room on the first floor.
I wonder what Hector is doing now, if only he could come out and let her look at him.
Perhaps God sees pity in her, or maybe the couple has a heart to heart...
Hector lay in bed for a while, but the images of Eloise and Sweety crying disturbed him, and he could not rest in peace.
He got out of bed and went to the window to get some air, pulled back the sunshade and pushed the door open.
He raised his hands on the railing and looked up at the blue sky.
At that moment, a surprised and carefully lowered voice came from downstairs.
"Prince Hector!"
He looked down, only to see Elo standing on the lawn waving a hand at him.
For some reason, the sight of her smiling face slowly calmed his restless heart.
"Prince Hector, what are you doing?"
Hector couldn't help but lose his smile, "I came out for some air."
Eloise thought for a moment, smiled and asked tentatively, "Prince Hector, would you like to try your hand at gardening?"
She gestured to the flower garden behind her.
Hector raised an eyebrow, "Sure."
He had nothing to do anyway, so he might as well replace something to do.
"Then you come down."
Eloise waved at him, careful again, "Don't let Ted see you."
"Okay, wait for me." Hector turned and walked into the house.
Within moments, Eloise saw him emerge from the cottage.
The smile on Eloise's face grew as she watched him take a step towards her. "Try?"
As he came up to him, Eloise handed over the pruning shears in her hand.
Hector looked down at it and raised his eyes to hers, his thin lips curving, "Yes, I'll try."
He took it and tried cutting off a branch, turning his head to look at Eloise, "Like this, right?"
Eloise nodded, "Well, yes, cut all that needs to be cut."
As soon as the butler stepped out of the cottage, he saw Hector carefully pruning the flowerbeds and was startled into exclaiming, "Prince Hector, what are you doing?"
At the sound of the voice, Eloise, who was crouched underneath the flower beds, stood up and frowned when she saw the butler running over with a frightened look on his face. It was over!
"Prince Hector, how could you do such a thing?" The butler snatched up the scissors and turned on Eloise with an accusation.
"What are you doing, how can you let Prince Hector prune the flower garden? You're not wanting to work here anymore, are you?"
Eloise bit her lip, not daring to say anything.
Seeing this, Hector hurriedly explained, "Ted, it's me who wants to give it a try, it's none of Elo's business."
"Prince Hector, how can you try this? If the lady sees this, I'll be in deep shit."
The butler sighed repeatedly.
"Ted, don't worry, Earlene won't know."
Hector, afraid the housekeeper would blame Eloise, said, "Elo, I'm sorry for the trouble."
Eloise shook her head.
It hadn't been any trouble at all.
How she wished he was always there for her.
If it weren't for the butler ...
At the thought, she looked indignantly at the housekeeper.
Thinking she was blaming herself for scolding her, the butler sighed heavily and explained, "Elo, you know Miss doesn't like you getting too close to Prince Hector, and you're asking Prince Hector to do this with the pure intention of getting Miss to kick you out?"
"No." Eloise pursed her lips, "It's not like I'm some kind of virus, does Miss have to be so defensive?"
"Well, stop it." The butler glared at her without good grace and said to Hector, "Prince Hector, you should go upstairs now, or the lady will blame me then."
"Good." Hector smiled at Eloise, "I'll go upstairs first."
"Hmm."
Eloise watched reluctantly as he walked into the house.
The butler stared at her closely and frowned, "Elo, you don't have a crush on Prince Hector, do you?"
"No." Eloise picked up her pruning shears and cut two stray branches with a double click.
The butler frowned, "If you don't have one, why are you cutting so hard?"
Eloise didn't say anything and continued to prune the flowerbed.
Seeing this, the butler could only walk away helplessly.
