Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1251: Always doting on you
Edwina was standing at the entrance to the block early, looking down at her watch every now and then, her lightly made-up face obviously a little nervous. She took a deep breath and tried to ease her emotions.
This was her first date with Edgar since they had established their relationship.
After about ten minutes or so, a black Land Rover drove up and pulled up beside her.
The windows came down to reveal Edgar's handsome face.
"Edwina, get in."
Edwina's face flushed indignantly as she met his smiling eyes.
She gave a soft "yes", pulled open the passenger door and got in. Edgar tilted his head and looked at her with a gentle, light smile.
Edwina felt her cheeks burn and she smiled shyly, "Let's go."
"Seat belt on." Edgar gestured for her to fasten her seatbelt.
"Okay." Edwina hurriedly buckled her seatbelt on.
Edgar smiled as he started the car and slowly drove away from the neighborhood.
On the road, Edwina gripped her seatbelt with both hands, not daring to breathe because she was so nervous.
She was even more nervous than when she had her interview at the restaurant.
"What would you like to eat?"
Edgar's voice suddenly rang out in the quiet carriage.
A shudder ran through the tip of her heart.
Edwina turned her head to look at him and curved her lips, "Whatever you want."
Hearing this answer, Edgar laughed out lightly, "What if what I like, you don't like?"
Edwina bit her lip and whispered back, "I'll try to like it."
At those words, Edgar, Edwina frowned with disapproval on her face, "Wouldn't that be too mean?"
"Would it?" Edwina asked rhetorically.
"Of course it would."
There was a red light ahead and Edgar stopped the car, resting one hand on the steering wheel, turning sideways, his deep eyes locked on her pretty face, "Edwina, in front of me, you can be capricious and lose your temper, you don't have to obey me in everything."
Edwina nodded, "Okay."
Because she felt that their relationship was too disparate, this relationship, which Edwina wanted to cherish, would unconsciously become humble. But it wasn't humble to her.
Her thoughts were simple, she just wanted to get to know him well enough to like everything he liked.
"That's good." Edgar reached out and stroked her head.
"I'm not a child." Edwina cooed in a small voice.
The smile on Edgar's face grew, "You're a child in my eyes and I want to spoil you all the time."
Edgar was stunned by the words.
In a whirlwind, a laugh came out.
The book was right, once a man fell in love, love words would naturally come out of his mouth.
I want to spoil you all the time.
The corners of Edwina's mouth involuntarily rose, her heart sweetened.
It is true that women love love words.
...
Edgar took Edwina to a private restaurant on the outskirts of the city.
The restaurant was decorated in an old-fashioned and quiet way, and there was a faint scent of sandalwood in the air, which made people's hearts calm. The shop assistant led them to a private room.
After sitting down, Edwina looked around and asked curiously, "How do you know about this restaurant?"
Edgar raised an eyebrow, a faint smile on his lips, "You have to do your homework before a date."
Edwina ducked her head shyly and the corners of her mouth turned up.
In fact, after meeting her during the day, he had no idea where to take her to dinner.
So he went online to replace out where to go and was "unfortunate" that Ivor saw him.
Ivor flirted with her a bit and mentioned that there was this one restaurant that would be good for a date.
Then, he brought her here.
"What would you like to eat?" Edgar pushed the menu in front of her.
Edwina perused the menu carefully and, without pretense, ordered two of her favourite dishes.
"Order up."
Edgar looked at the ones she had ticked off and secretly made a note of the names of the dishes.
After finishing her order, Edwina folded her hands and rested her chin, gazing deeply at him, "You are so busy and you still replace time for me, will it affect your work?" Edgar, Edwina smiled, "No. You don't have to worry."
"That's good."
She couldn't help him as much as Elva could in her career, but at the very least, it shouldn't affect him.
Seeing her thoughts, Edgar took her hand and said gently, "Edwina, don't have any mental burden. When you are with me, think of me as an ordinary man, not as the president of Khan Group." Edwina nodded her head.
Edgar smiled and poured a cup of tea for her, "Have a cup of coffee, I have something to tell you later."
"Okay."
Edwina did as she was told and took a sip of her tea, her gaze falling on his handsome face as she wondered what he wanted to talk to her about.
...
Edwards arrived at Edwina's place and knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" A childish, clear voice came from the door.
Edwards smiled involuntarily and his voice softened, "Bonnie, it's me, Uncle Boone."
The door was silent for a few seconds, as if to make sure he wasn't lying.
Only then did it slowly open and a small head peeked out, looking up at him and calling out nicely, "Uncle Boone."
Edwards looked down and met a pair of clear eyes and his expression became gentle, "Good girl, is your mummy home?"
Bonnie shook her head, "Mummy's out, she's not home."
Edwards nodded and then, in a whirl, asked, "Can I come in then?"
Bonnie thought for a moment and nodded, "Uncle Boone, please come in."
Edwards stroked his head and walked in.
He looked around, turned his head to look at Bonnie and asked casually, "Did your mother say where she was going?"
"I think she went out with Uncle Edgar."
With that, Bonnie headed for the kitchen, not seeing the surprise that passed over Edwards' face.
Edwina had gone out with Edgar?
What was going on here?
Before he had time to think about it, he saw Bonnie approaching with a glass of water, and he rushed forward to take it. "Uncle Boone, you have a glass of water."
"Good."
Edwards smiled and sat down on the sofa, "Do you know where your mum and Uncle Edgar are going?"
"No idea." Bonnie shook her head.
"So you're the only one left at home?"
"Hmm."
Edwards frowned, a little disapproving of this approach to Edwina.
"Aren't you afraid?" He asked.
Bonnie shook her head again, "No. Mum told me not to open the door to strangers and that I can call Mum if something happens."
Edwards couldn't help but feel a little heartbroken at seeing such a sensible Bonnie.
He got up and walked over to Bonnie, sat next to him and put his arm around his shoulders, "It's still not safe for you to be home alone, I'll talk to your mum about it some time."
"No, Uncle Boone," Bonnie lowered his head and whispered, "Mum has been working hard for me for years and I'm happy that she's getting some time to herself."
At these words, a sourness rose up in Edwards' heart and his arms tightened around him, "Bonnie, you really know how to behave."
Bonnie looked up with a pleading face and said, "Uncle Boone, can you please not tell my mother? I'm afraid she'll blame herself so much that she won't even have time for herself again for me." Edwards nodded, "Okay, I won't say anything."
