Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1275: Never belonged to you
Eloise's red lips parted lightly as she smiled and asked, "Am I pretty?"
Hector snapped back to attention, reacting to the fact that he had been staring at her, coughed lightly and whispered, "Beautiful." "Thanks." Eloise looked at him seriously, "You're handsome too."
At the sound of the words, silence fell around the room.
The two looked at each other and laughed out loud in unison.
The atmosphere was instantly lighter.
"What brings you here?" Hector asked.
"Because my husband is here."
Hector understood what she meant and couldn't help but feel a little clogged up inside, "I'm sorry, I don't remember anything."
Eloise's smile didn't let up, "As long as I remember."
Seeing the deep affection in her eyes, Hector wished for a moment in particular that he could regain his memory.
"I ..." Hector opened his mouth to say something, but didn't know what to say.
Eloise was still smiling: "Don't feel sorry for me, it's not your fault you forgot me, it's her fault."
Hector knew who the 'she' was.
He frowned, "But it's undeniable that she saved me."
"No!" Eloise shook her head, "You could have gotten away without her, with your intelligence."
At that, she took a deep breath, "It's all my fault, to say the least. If it wasn't for saving me, you wouldn't have gone with Bergerian and you wouldn't have been taken by Earlene."
"Can you ... tell me what happened then?" Hector wanted to know about his past and had never been more desperate to know.
Eloise smiled, "Sure, I'll tell you anything you want to know."
So Eloise talked about what had happened in Italy at the time.
And Hector listened quietly.
Meanwhile, Earlene finished looking at the other wedding dresses, didn't see anything she liked and turned to go back to the fitting room.
Only to be stopped by Brimlad.
"Earlene, it's been a long time since we've seen each other, would you like to have a chat with me?"
Earlene's brow furrowed, she wasn't happy about it.
To be honest, the only reason to approach the Khan family before was to be closer to Hector.
Now that Hector was on her side, there was no need to deal with the Khan family.
So, she simply refused, "Sorry, I don't have time."
With that, she walked around Brimlad and moved on.
Any more, Brimlad was an elder, but her attitude was so arrogant that it was off-putting.
Brimlad narrowed his eyes and turned, striding towards her.
Stopping her again, he smiled coldly, "Earlene, you've changed a lot! You didn't used to be like this, always aunty long and aunty short. What? After stealing Eloise's husband away, you think you're so great?" Earlene stared at her, not making a sound.
"Then I'm going to have to talk about you today."
Brimlad cleared his throat, raised his voice, and said, "Hector was Eloise's husband, and they had two children and were a happy family of four. It was you who drugged Hector by any means necessary, causing him to lose his memory and forget about Eloise and the children, and you are the one responsible for destroying their family!"
The others heard this and were amazed, looking at Earlene with more than a little contempt.
Earlene clenched her fists and looked at Brimlad's smug face, anger churning in her chest, but she held it back for dear life.
"Auntie, you're wrong about that. Hector was in danger, and I saved him. But it was an accident that he lost his memory."
"An accident?" Brimlad burst out laughing with a sarcastic smile, "Earlene, there is no need to put words in your mouth, we all know what really happened."
Earlene felt sure that if she stayed with her any longer, she would not be able to resist getting angry, so she said, "Auntie, I really don't have time, I will visit you some other time,"
With those words, and without waiting for Brimlad's reaction, she walked quickly towards the fitting room.
Brimlad was too late to stop her, so he could only stay where he was.
"Oh no, won't this Earlene know that Hector isn't there as soon as she goes to the fitting room?"
As soon as Earlene arrived at the fitting room, she asked the shop assistant about Hector.
The clerk told her truthfully, "Miss Earlene, your husband is not here."
"Not here?" Earlene's face paled at this and rushed forward to pull each curtain open, and indeed there was no sign of Hector.
She turned her head and shot a harsh look at the clerk, "Where is he?"
"He... he's gone upstairs."
"Upstairs?" Earlene furrowed her brow, her mind filled with confusion.
It wasn't like Hector was familiar with the place, what was he doing upstairs?
Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind.
Eloise!
Not caring that she was wearing her wedding dress, she grabbed the hem of her skirt and ran towards the stairs.
...
After hearing what Eloise had said about her past, a very familiar feeling came over Hector.
He truly felt like he had experienced everything she had said.
"Is that Bergerian still giving you a hard time now?" Hector asked worriedly.
Eloise shook her head, "No, he said he wouldn't hurt me, so he hasn't even approached me again so far."
Hector sighed in relief, "That's good."
Eloise looked at him and asked, "Did you remember anything?"
"No." Hector gave an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry, after all you've said, I still haven't thought of anything at all."
A hint of disappointment crossed his eyes, but Eloise smiled reassuringly, "It's okay, take your time, it will come back to you."
Hector pondered for a moment and asked tentatively, "And what if I never remember?"
"No way!" Eloise was very sure, "You will remember."
She looked so determined that Hector laughed lightly, "I hope it will come back to me, like you said, or else I'll feel really bad."
Before the words could be said, the door was suddenly slammed open from the outside.
Earlene rushed in and her face went cold when she saw Eloise.
"Earlene," Hector stood up, just about to ask what brought her here.
Before the words could come out, Earlene came at him in a single bound, pulled him behind her and questioned in a stern voice, "Eloise, what are you trying to do?" Eloise rose unperturbed and smiled at her, "He's my husband, I want to have a chat with him, can't I?"
"Like I said, he's not the Hector he used to be, and he's not your husband." Earlene's emotions visibly flared up, even her voice became shrill, and
Eloise frowned, "Earlene, don't think you're going to change the fact that he's my husband by shouting so loudly."
"What the hell are you trying to do?" Earlene questioned once more.
Eloise narrowed her eyes slightly and a small smile lifted the corners of her mouth, "Earlene, are you scared?" Earlene stared at her with a deadly stare, not making a sound.
She spoke slowly, one word at a time, "Do you know why you are afraid? Because he never belonged to you."
