Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1276: You just give up
"Shut up!"
Earlene, who had been poked at a sore spot, bellowed, her eyes glaring at Eloise with hatred.
Eloise still looked like she was on cloud nine, but the hands clenched at her side gave away her true emotions. As much as Earlene hated her, she hated Earlene too.
If it hadn't been for Earlene, she wouldn't have been separated from Hector.
Even less would Hector have stood in front of her and not been able to remember who she was.
"Eloise, I'm telling you, you and Hector will never be the same again in this life." Earlene said through gritted teeth.
"Is that so?" Eloise raised her eyebrows, "Don't talk too soon before you're married."
"If you try to ruin my wedding to Hector, I will never let you go!" Earlene warned her.
"He doesn't love you." Eloise looked behind Earlene at Hector and her red lips curled, "There's no way he'll ever completely forget about me, sooner or later he'll remember."
At her confident look, Earlene's heart pounded with annoyance and more than anything, she was weak and scared.
For there was no way she could guarantee that Hector would never remember Eloise for the rest of his life.
Not wanting to dwell on her, Earlene said to Hector, "Let's go down."
With that, she went to take Hector's hand.
Who knows, Hector dodged it.
It was the first time he had reacted that way.
"Hector?" said Earlene, looking at him a little incredulously.
Hector didn't know why he had avoided her hand, but seeing her look of dismay and disappointment made him feel a little guilty.
Earlene had saved him.
But he seemed to have some faith in what Eloise had said.
This woman had always given him a different feeling.
As he thought about it, he became a little lost in thought, and even began to wonder if he had made the right or wrong decision to marry Earlene.
"Hector, let's go home." Earlene took him by the hand and called out intimately, tempering all her disappointment.
Hector snapped back and Edwina nodded, "Okay."
At the sight of their clasped hands, Eloise, who had barely managed to replace a glimmer of hope, had a look of defeat on her face, and her heart was filled with a pain like a pinprick. Earlene caught it just in time and said, "Eloise, just give up."
"Give up?" Eloise took a deep breath and smiled, "Unfortunately, I've never known what giving up means."
At that, Earlene's face hardened a little.
It had come to this, why was she still so persistent?
"He's the man I love dearly and I'm the woman he loves dearly, and that's not going to change."
With these words, Eloise strides away.
Before she left, she looked deeply at Hector.
There was so much to say in that look.
Hector couldn't get it out of his head for days on end.
Once Eloise had left, Earlene relaxed, only then did she realise that her palms were sweating.
As soon as she saw Eloise come down, Brimlad immediately greeted her.
"How was it?"
Eloise shook her head gently.
Brimlad's brow tightened, "Is it Earlene?"
"No." Eloise took a deep breath, "It's not anyone's problem, I'm thinking too easy on myself."
"What's wrong?" Brimlad asked with concern.
Eloise pursed her lips, thought for a moment and said, "Auntie, let's go back and think of something else."
Brimlad nodded, "Good."
They left before Earlene and Hector came downstairs.
Earlene saw her man nod to her and the corners of her mouth curled in triumph, how could Eloise alone bring back Hector's memory. She was also relieved at the thought.
Now it seemed that the wedding should not be a problem.
She looked over at Hector, who was talking to the shop assistant, and a happy smile spread across her delicately made-up face. When the wedding took place, she would be Hector's rightful wife.
...
Elva's disturbance at the restaurant was caught on video and posted on the internet, causing an instant stir.
The spouse "taught" her mistress a lesson, which was a big hit.
The headlines were all over the place, and even the identities of Elva and Edwina were revealed.
One princess, one ordinary single mother.
It instantly pushed the story even higher into the heat.
One after another, the media came to the restaurant where Edwina worked, making it impossible to run the restaurant properly.
"Manager, I'm sorry, it's all my fault." Edwina kept apologising to the manager.
The manager had a serious look on his face, "Edwina, there are a lot of media out there, I don't think this matter will calm down for a while, for the sake of the restaurant and for the sake of other colleagues to be able to work normally, you have to suspend your job for the time being."
Edwina's face changed when she heard that she had to be suspended, but she still nodded her head and agreed, "Yes, I'll suspend."
As long as we can get the restaurant back to normal, suspension is fine.
The manager hesitated, "Edwina, there's something I must make clear to you."
"What is it?"
"This time your incident has made a mess and people above the group know about it, the suspension is also a decision from above, and ..."
Here, the manager paused, "This suspension is indefinite."
Edwina got anxious, "What do you mean? Is this about firing me?"
"Just take it easy for a moment and listen to what I have to say." The manager soothed and continued, "What it means from above is that they want to wait until things have calmed down before reconsidering whether to let you return to work."
"And what if they don't agree by then?"
Edwina had worked at the restaurant for a few years and it would be too much of an injustice if she was fired because of this.
"It won't happen." The manager reassured, "During your suspension, I will talk more to the leaders above about how you usually work, I don't think any group would like to lose a good employee."
Hearing this, Edwina felt slightly more at ease, "Thank you, manager."
"You don't need to thank me, but are you alright?" The manager asked.
Edwina laughed bitterly, "What can I do, I choose to ignore all those words on the internet that call me names anyway."
"If there's anything I can do to help, just say so."
Edwina nodded, "Good."
