Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1288: No Variations Allowed

Thomas oohed and aahed, "You can't go!"

"Why?" Eloise tilted her head at him, "Afraid I'll get hurt?" "Right."

Whether it was a straightforward robbery or a disruption of the wedding, there was bound to be conflict between the two sides and he was worried that he wouldn't be able to protect Miss Eloise. So it was best if she didn't go.

Eloise bowed her head, "About that, don't worry. I'll be fine."

"You can guarantee that?" Thomas asked.

"I ..."

"You can't promise, can you? That's why you should never go! I promise you that I will bring the prince back."

Eloise looked up again at his serious and grave face and pursed her lips, "Hector is blessed to have a subordinate like you, as much as he is blessed to have me."

"So, Miss Eloise you..." Thomas tried carefully.

He was really afraid that she would be determined to come along and that would be a big problem.

"Don't worry, I'll protect myself and I'll definitely not cause you any trouble."

At that, Thomas slumped his shoulders in frustration and wanted to cry, "Miss Eloise, why can't you understand what I'm saying?"

Eloise looked around and suddenly said, "This isn't a bad house you have."

The conversation changed so quickly that Thomas didn't react.

She continued, "But there's something missing."

"What?" Thomas blurted out subconsciously.

In the next moment, he cursed himself in his mind: Damn! How did the subject get changed?

"It's ..." Eloise thought hard and her eyes lit up, "I know what it is. It's just that there's a mistress missing, a touch of home."

Speaking of which, she couldn't resist saying more, "It's about time you got a girlfriend, otherwise people will think Hector is harsh on you and won't let you fall in love." A relationship?

Thomas laughed to himself, "Would anyone like a guy like me?"

"Of course there is. You're so good and you're not bad looking, how come no one likes you?"

"Is that so?"

His voice sounded a little downcast, and it was then that Eloise noticed that he looked a little forlorn.

It was then that she snapped back to Edwina and her own cousin.

Thomas was fond of Edwina.

But Edwina had chosen her cousin.

Was that why he had thought that way?

Eloise couldn't help but be a little embarrassed, really, not to mention the pot.

"Thomas, don't be discouraged, you'll always meet your destiny." Eloise deliberated for a moment before she carefully said something soothing to him.

Thomas understood what she meant and smiled carelessly, "I hope so."

Because of Edwina, he probably wouldn't like anyone else any time soon.

"It will." Eloise encouraged.

"Thanks Miss Eloise."

The two talked for a few more minutes before Eloise got up to leave.

Once outside the apartment building, Eloise looked at the cars speeding past on the road and took a deep breath, now just waiting for the wedding day to come.

...

Hector glanced at the date and a slight anxiety flooded his mind.

He knew exactly what he was upset about.

It was nothing more than his past.

Although he had said that he would marry Earlene, because that was his promise to her.

But in reality, deep down, there was a bit of resistance.

All this time, he had been asking himself.

Did he really love Earlene?

Or was... it just out of gratitude?

It was obvious that marriage was a happy and joyful thing, but he was not happy or joyful at all.

Instead, there was unease ... as well as guilt.

As time drew nearer, the uneasiness and guilt expanded, like an abyss that would swallow him up at the slightest misstep.

Earlene pushed the door open and stepped into the room, her gaze going to Hector who stood by the window with his back to himself, his hands slowly clenching at his side. It wasn't that she didn't feel it.

Hector's mood had been off the last few days, she'd sensed it, but had just assumed he was nervous because the wedding was close.

But now it didn't necessarily seem to be nerves.

She took a deep breath and lifted her steps to walk gently towards him.

Hector was looking out of the window, looking so intently that he didn't even notice that someone had entered the room.

It was only when Earlene's voice sounded in his ear that he suddenly woke up.

"Hector."

A quick, imperceptible flash of emotion passed through Hector's eyes and he turned his head, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, "You're done?" "Yeah." Earlene's gaze locked on his handsome face and she asked softly, "Is something on your mind?"

Hector stifled his emotions and shook his head, "No."

"Hector, we're getting married, I'll be your wife from now on, if there's anything you can tell me, I'm willing to share it with you."

"I'm really fine." Hector took her hand and curled his lips into a smile, "Don't worry, I'll tell you if something happens." Earlene was a little disappointed inside.

He clearly had something on his mind, but he still wouldn't tell her.

She took his hand in hers and gazed at him deeply, "Hector, tell me honestly, do you really want to marry me?"

After asking, her hand subconsciously tightened and her heart followed.

She dreaded the answer of denial.

Hector smiled, "Of course I do."

There was no hesitation in that answer.

But could it be believed?

If he really did mean it, then why did he seem a little off these days? Sometimes alone and dazed, wondering what he was thinking.

Knowing that she might have sensed something, Hector added: "Earlene, don't think too much about it."

When he said that, Earlene couldn't be more suspicious, so she smiled and said, "I trust you."

Hector took her hand in his, "Just wait for the wedding."

The emotion flooded through her.

Earlene felt a little guilty that she had just doubted his sincerity.

"Yes, I'm going to be the most beautiful bride." She said.

Hector smiled and said nothing more.

Earlene thought for a moment and spoke again, "Let's go see Grandma again before the wedding." "Good. All yours." Hector didn't refuse.

"So... just now?" Earlene asked.

Hector nodded, "Sure."

"Then let's go."

Earlene pulled him out of the room and together they went downstairs and drove to the hospital.

Earlene glanced sideways at the man in the passenger seat and her grip on the steering wheel tightened quietly. Why had she suddenly taken him to see his grandmother?

To make him more determined to marry her.

After all, everything was subject to change until the wedding was a success.

But she would not allow her wedding to have any variables!
