Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1287: Is it envy? Or jealousy?

Eloise struggled hard, trying to wrestle the two men's hands away.

But there was a disparity in strength between the men and women, and she couldn't break free.

"Mr Bergerian."

A neat, respectful voice rang in her ears and she looked up with a start.

Bergerian paced up and down, then stopped in front of her, his mouth curling, "It's been a long time, Sofía."

At the sight of Bergerian, Eloise's heart instantly sank to the bottom.

It was over.

He wasn't trying to capture her for Italy again, was he?

"What are you... doing here?"

"I told you, I want to see you now."

Bergerian's lips curled in an arc and he raised his hand in a gesture, and his men were instantly about to stuff Eloise into the car. "Let go of me!"

Eloise scolded angrily as she struggled.

"What are you doing?!"

Thomas, who happened to be coming out of the residence, saw the scene and snapped, his face changing.

Eloise cried out as if she had seen a straw and said, "Thomas, help me."

"Let her go!" Thomas's stern gaze shot to Bergerian, "What else can you do but force people away in this way?"

Bergerian ignored him and ordered, "Take her to the car."

"Let go of me!" Eloise struggled as she shouted, "Thomas, help me, help me!"

At this, Thomas spat a curse, "Shit", and then rushed up and kicked the man holding Eloise.

The others, not caring about Eloise, lunged at Thomas.

Eloise, freed, rushed to the side and looked at Thomas nervously.

Although Thomas was only one man, in two or three blows he had knocked several of the other men to the ground and wailing.

Thomas walked up to Eloise and shielded her behind him, glaring sternly at Bergerian, "You'd better get your head out of your ass, this is Kyoto, not Italy. If you try anything else, the Rogers family and the Khan family will never let you go!" "Do you think I'd be afraid?" Bergerian gave a cocky smile.

Thomas stared at him defensively, not making a sound.

Bergerian's gaze moved to Eloise behind him and asked, "Do you think Hector will ever come back to you?"

Eloise's small hands clenched and then loosened as Edwina tilted her chin up and said back with a particularly sure tone, "Yes!"

"Really?" Bergerian laughed softly and shook his head, "I don't think so. Why are you holding out when he's marrying another woman?"

Eloise's face paled slightly at the poke, but her mouth remained insistent, "He'll be back, it's just a matter of time."

"Time? A few days? A few months? Years?" Bergerian thought she was being naive, "What if he never regains his memory? What will you do?" "That's not for you to worry about." Eloise refused to answer his question.

"I'm afraid you'll be disappointed and hurt when the time comes."

It sounded as if Bergerian cared for her, but when he listened carefully, he was merely mocking her naivety.

Eloise stepped forward.

Thomas got anxious, "Miss Eloise, you..."

Eloise turned back to him and gave him a reassuring smile, "Don't worry, he wouldn't dare do anything to me with you around."

Following that, she looked to Bergerian and said with particular clarity in one word, "Hector will regain his memory and will remember me, no matter how long it takes, I will wait."

At this she smiled, "I don't think Mr Bergerian can understand what Hector and I feel for each other. We love each other so much that even if we forget each other, we still have traces of each other deep in our hearts, so I'm sure he'll get his memory back!"

Bergerian looked at her expressionlessly, not denying that his heart had rippled a little at her words.

Was it envy? Or jealousy?

Perhaps it was both.

His marriage to Lisa had been a temporary compromise, and with the other women it had been more of a charade, none of them worthy of his deep love, or loving him deeply.

All they loved was his money and his power!

Eloise's determined look was engraved in his mind, and at this moment he suddenly wished that it was himself she loved.

The thought made him laugh, a smile that was a mixture of self-deprecation and helplessness.

Thomas hurried to shield Eloise, glaring at him with a defensive look.

"Well then, good luck with that!"

Leaving those words behind, Bergerian left with his men.

Both Eloise and Thomas were a little surprised, both of them looked at each other, they didn't expect Bergerian to leave so simply.

In the car, Bergerian looked out of the window at the flashing street scene, his expression light and unreadable.

The assistant in the passenger seat turned his head to look at him and asked cautiously, "Sir, are we just going to give up?"

"Or what?" Bergerian asked rhetorically.

The assistant bowed his head in fear, "Everything is at your disposal."

Bergerian lifted his hand and squeezed his temples, which ached a little, and asked, "What's happening with Lisa?"

"I've sent someone to keep an eye on it twenty-four hours a day, we'll know as soon as Madam makes a move."

Lisa had sent someone to the capital earlier to try to disadvantage Eloise, but fortunately his people had found out in time, otherwise Eloise would not be able to stand in front of him today and say those words. Thinking of what Eloise said, his eyes sank and he said in a cold voice, "Go back and help me prepare the divorce papers."

When the assistant heard this, her expression was shocked, but she didn't dare to ask more questions, "Yes."

...

"Miss Eloise, are you all right?" Thomas asked with concern.

"No!"

Hearing Eloise's answer, Thomas' face changed and his eyes looked her up and down, "Where is it hurt?"

Eloise couldn't help but laugh at his nervousness, "I mean I need to talk to you."

At that, Thomas sighed in relief, "Miss Eloise, you scared the hell out of me."

Luckily that was what he meant, if he had been really hurt he would have had no way to explain to the prince.

Eloise smiled and, with a turn of phrase, said, "Is it convenient to come to where you live? I have something very important to talk to you about."

Thomas nodded, "Of course it's convenient."

The two of them walked into the apartment building and took the lift to Thomas' floor.

Once inside, Thomas hurriedly said, "Miss Eloise, why don't you sit in the living room while I get you a glass of water."

Eloise nodded and looked around as she walked towards the living room.

The house was small, one bedroom and one bathroom, with simple and stylish decor, especially suitable for a single person like Thomas.

But she always felt that something was missing.

"Miss Eloise, have some water."

Thomas placed the cup on the table and stood aside respectfully.

Seeing this, Eloise couldn't help but smile, "There's no one else here, just sit down, it's better to talk about things."

Thomas sat down opposite her and asked, "Miss Eloise, what do you want?"

Eloise lifted her glass, took a sip of water and said, "My cousin doesn't agree with your plan."

Mr. Edgar didn't agree?

Thomas wondered a little, "Why?"

"Fear that you might be in danger."

"That is not the reason." Thomas said, "As long as I can save the prince, I have to do it even if it's dangerous."

"But I don't want any of you to get hurt."

She saw how loyal he was to Hector, but the more that happened, the less she wanted him to put his life in danger.

"And what does Mr. Edgar intend to do?" Thomas asked.

Since he didn't agree with what he was doing, there had to be some other way.

"Well ..." Eloise weighed her words, "the Rawlins mean for us to ruin the wedding."

"Sabotage the wedding?" Thomas frowned, a little not quite knowing what it meant.

"Hmm. The wedding will still go ahead as planned, but when it does Rawlins will replace a way for us to blend in and replace the right time to disrupt it." "Us?" Thomas caught a great deal of emphasis, "Are you going to be there Miss Eloise?"

Eloise nodded, "Hmm."
