Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1307: Impossible to Marry Her

On the rare occasions when he didn't have to go to work, Edgar would accompany Edwina to spend the afternoon at home getting mellow until Bonnie came home from school and they would go out together. "Dude, where are we going?" Bonnie looked away from the car and looked at the man occupying the driver's seat.

Edgar glanced at Bonnie in the rearview mirror and a soft smile tugged at the corner of his lips, "Where do you want to go?"

Edwina returned Bonnie's gaze, her eyebrows softening.

"I want to go to ...," Bonnie thought haltingly, then her eyes lit up and she said, "Let's go to an amusement park."

"This time of year?" Edgar and Edwina looked at each other, "It's so late, the amusement park is almost closed." "It is?" Bonnie was a little disappointed.

Edgar smiled, "I'll take you another time man, okay?"

Bonnie nodded, "Yeah."

"Bonnie's a good girl." Edgar complimented her and then asked, "So we'll go to McDonald's then, okay?"

"Yes!" Bonnie's face instantly lit up.

It was true that all the kids couldn't resist McDonald's.

"He's been clamoring for me to take him for a hamburger for a long time, but I've turned them all down." Edwina looked at a happy Bonnie and laughed. "Why?" asked Edgar.

"Because it's not healthy." Edwina didn't want her to eat too much fried food, it wasn't good for her health.

Edgar nodded approvingly, "You're doing the right thing. But don't be too aggressive with the boy."

Edwina said, "With you around, how could I aggravate the boy?"

Edgar laughed and said nothing more.

When they arrived at McDonald's, Edgar took Bonnie to the counter to order and Edwina found a seat by the window.

At that time of day, there was a bit of a line in the store.

Edgar and Bonnie were standing side by side at the end of the line.

As soon as Edwina turned her head, she saw them, so big and small that a stranger would think they were father and son. She couldn't help twisting the corners of her lips.

Suddenly, her cell phone rang.

At first glance, it was Dulce calling.

The smile on Edwina's lips immediately tightened and she took a deep breath before picking up the phone.

"Tia, hello."

"Edwina, is Edgar with you?" asked Dulce, getting straight to the point.

Edwina unconsciously looked at Edgar, who wasn't far away, and gave a soft "yes."

There was silence on the other end of the phone.

It was so quiet that even the noise around her made her uncomfortable.

Edwina's heart raced as she wondered what Dulce's purpose was in calling.

It was a long time before Dulce's voice rang in her ears again, "Edwina, when are you free?"

"What do you want, Aunt?" asked Edwina instead of answering.

"I want to talk to you."

Edwina smiled plausibly, "Auntie, say what you want to say over the phone."

"It's not clear over the phone."

"Tia, if it's about Edgar and me, I don't think it's necessary." Edwina made her attitude clear right away.

Dulce on the other end of the phone didn't know whether to be angry or laugh for a moment, how dare a girl like her talk to her like that.

"I am clear whether it is necessary or not. Tomorrow you come home and we'll talk in person."

His completely unquestioning tone made Edwina frown.

"By the way, don't tell Edgar," the latter added, and Dulce merely hung up.

Edgar and Bonnie walked over and saw Edwina fiddling with her phone.

"What's wrong?"

Edgar asked with concern as he sat down across from her.

Edwina looked back at him and met his concerned gaze, smiling and shaking her head, "Nothing."

She then turned her head to Bonnie, "Do you have your order?".

Bonnie nodded vigorously, "Yes, it's ordered."

When she said it was okay, Edgar asked no more questions, instead saying, "When we're done eating, we'll go for a walk."

Edwina's eyes sparkled and she said, "I want to go straight home."

"Why, I don't want to go home that early yet." Bonnie looked at her in disbelief.

Edwina patted her head, "You have homework to do, we'll go home after lunch."

At the mention of homework, Bonnie's shoulders slumped, "Okay."

Edwina smiled and turned her attention to the man across the table, "Go home early, you have work tomorrow." Edgar sensed something was wrong and frowned, "Edwina, is there something wrong with you?"

"Does it look like something's wrong with me?" Edwina raised her eyebrows and asked instead of answering. Seeing this, Edgar thought that perhaps he had been too sensitive and smiled, "Fine, whatever you say." After dropping Edwina and the others off at their home, Edgar drove back to the old Khan family home. As he entered the foyer, a familiar voice was heard.

"Auntie, how well you cook, it's been a long time since I've eaten a dish I liked so much."

It was Elva.

What was she doing here?

Edgar raised his eyebrows and came striding in, catching a glimpse of his mother and Elva sitting in the living room. Upon seeing him, Elva stood up in surprise, "Edgar, you're back."

Edgar ignored her and instead looked directly at his mother, thin lips parted, "Mom, what is she doing here?".

Dulce looked at Elva and explained, "She went to the office and didn't see you, so she came to the house." "Did she say anything?" asked Edgar.

"What did you think he was going to say?" asked Dulce instead of answering.

"Whatever he said, it's true."

I thought he was trying to argue, but I didn't expect it.

Dulce and Elva both froze.

"Edgar, do you know what you're talking about?" Dulce asked as she was the first to come to and speak.

"Mom, since she's here too, I'm going to be blunt." Edgar turned a cold stare on Elva, "I don't like her, and there's no way I'm marrying her."

At these words, Elva's face turned white, "Edgar, who do you think you are, who do you think you are, you think you can say anything?"
