Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1329: I Trust Daddy

Seeing them arrive, Paulina's face filled with a bright smile and her heart filled to overflowing. Happiest life, that's what it is, isn't it?

She put the fried eggs on their plate and poured them each a glass of milk.

"Sweety, no leftovers today." He said to Sweety with a smile.

Sweety's little face scrunched up in embarrassment.

She looked like she couldn't finish a glass of milk or half a sandwich.

Mark leaned over and whispered in her ear, "If you can't finish it, Daddy will help you."

Sweety smiled in delight as she threw her arms around his neck and gave him a kiss on the cheek, her eyes arched, "Daddy is the best."

"Marcos, you can't spoil her like that, you'll spoil her." Paulina said, feigning displeasure.

Marcos turned his head to look at her, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, "She's my daughter, who am I going to spoil if I don't spoil her?". Paulina was speechless.

"Let's eat, let's go for a walk later." Paulina said.

As soon as they heard they were going out, the two little girls perked up and even ate much faster.

After finishing breakfast and cleaning up the dishes, Marcos and Paulina took the two little ones for a walk.

There weren't many people on the path, so the two children ran ahead and Paulina walked slowly behind them, holding Marcos by the hand. "Do you remember this place?" asked Paulina.

Marcos looked around, a little lost in thought, and said, "No."

Before, Paulina might have been disappointed, but now she felt that it was okay, as long as Marcos was by her side, it was better than nothing. As for recovering her memory, she could take her time, she didn't want to put pressure on Marcos.

With that in mind, she curved her lips and said calmly, "It's okay, there's no rush. We have plenty of time, you can take your time to think."

Esteban paused in his run and looked back at Paulina and Marcos, with a cold, thoughtful little face.

"What are you doing, bro?" Sweety, who had run ahead, noticed he wasn't following and yelled.

Stephen snapped back to attention and hurried over.

"Brother, what just happened to you?" asked Sweety, cocking his head in confusion.

Esteban shook his head, "Nothing."

"Oh." Sweety asked no more questions as he pointed to the grass not far away and said, "Let's go over there and play."

She was about to run over there when Esteban hurriedly pulled her back, "Wait."

"What's wrong?" Sweety turned her head and looked at him in astonishment.

"Sweety, does it bother you at all that Dad doesn't remember us?" asked Esteban. Sweety frowned, puzzled, and replied, "Why should I mind?"

"Because he's forgotten about us."

"Dad hasn't forgotten. He's still our dad."

For Sweety, it was enough that Dad had come back to them; it didn't matter if he had regained his memory or not. In any case, Dad still adored them!

Stephen thought about it seriously and nodded like a little adult, "That's right."

"Brother, let's go over there and play."

Sweety pulled him in the direction of the lawn and ran.

Seeing them running, Paulina, who was walking behind them, hurriedly shouted, "Slow down, you two, don't fall." "Understood."

Hearing Esteban's voice, Paulina couldn't help but laugh. "Esteban is so calm and collected most of the time, he doesn't look like a child at all, only now, he still feels like one." "Who would you say he looks like with this personality?" Paulina turned her head to look at Marcos.

Marcos understood and said helplessly, "Like me."

"And you know like you." Paulina sighed softly.

"But he's growing up just fine." Marcos squeezed her hand and asked, "Do you want to tell me more about our old days?"

Paulina nodded, "Of course I do."

They went to sit on a stone bench at the edge of the lawn and Paulina talked about those days in France.

Mark listened quietly, trying to remember the past, but he was still drawing a blank.

...

In the evening, after dinner, the family sat in the living room.

Sweety and Esteban were watching cartoons, while Paulina leaned on Marcos, texting on her cell phone.

The scene is happy and cozy.

Esteban looked back at Paulina, got up and walked over to Marcos, sat down next to him, leaned close and whispered in his ear, "Dad, come out with me for a while, I want to talk to you, ok?". Marcos turned his head to look at him, confusion surfacing in his eyes.

"OK?" Esteban repeated the question.

Looking into Esteban's expectant eyes, Marcos tugged at the corners of his lips and nodded.

"But don't tell mom what we said." said Esteban.

Marcos understood part of the mystery the young children wanted to have and readily agreed.

"Paulina, Esteban and I are going for a walk."

Sweety stood up as soon as she heard that, "I'm going too."

"You stay home with Mom. It's a guy thing for us." Esteban said with a straight face.

At that, Paulina burst out laughing, "What are you guys trying to do behind our backs?".

"I just want to talk to dad." Esteban smiled.

Paulina didn't ask too many questions, "Go on then, little man."

As she watched them leave, Paulina's smile faded and her brow furrowed slightly, what was Esteban trying to tell Marcos?

Esteban didn't take Marcos anywhere else, but to the outskirts of the villa where he stopped dead in his tracks.

"Dad, do you remember where this place is?"

Marcos turned his head to look at him, "This is where we used to live."

Paulina had told him.

Surprise colored Esteban's face, "Papi, do you remember?".

"Your mom told me."

Esteban's expression wilted and he said in a muffled voice, "Mom and Sweety weren't here at the time. I think it was because of you that Mom left, so I was rebellious and didn't listen to you during those years." "And I would often get into fights, and you would make me stand in the yard and squat in a horse stance to punish me."

"At that time I would cry and think about mom."

...

Esteban's eyes couldn't help but redden at the mention of this.

Mark looked at the light on in the downstairs living room and, after a moment of silence, knelt down, stroked his little head and said solemnly, "Esteban, I'm sorry."

Esteban said so much, but still thought nothing.

"Papa, won't you ever remember?" Esteban turned his head and looked at him with teary eyes.

Marcos gently wiped the tears from his face and hugged him, "No, Dad will remember."

Stephen sniffled and smiled, "I trust Dad."
