Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1341: Trying to take advantage of the situation?
Dulce was slightly stunned, what her own son wanted, of course she knew.
But she couldn't let him come at her whim.
After a moment of silence, Dulce sighed, "You'll understand the pains your father and I have taken."
With that, she turned and headed up the stairs.
Bitterness?
Edgar cocked his head to one side, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of his lips, why did they never take his feelings into account?
Why did they never take his feelings into account? He had given in and this was what he was getting in return.
If that was the case, then don't blame him for being ungrateful.
Elva, he would never marry her, no matter what she said!
The next day, the press was filled with news of the cancellation of the marriage between The Terrazas family and The Boone family, which soon became a hot topic on the Internet. Once again, Elva's lecture about the mistresses went public.
Edwina was also thrust into the public eye.
Edwina was too busy going to school to help Bonnie with the transfer process to keep up with news about her on the Internet.
After completing the paperwork, she went straight home.
As soon as she reached the entrance to the neighborhood, a group of reporters with long and short guns surrounded her. Click, click, click...
The flashes of the flashbulbs made Edwina unconsciously dodge them.
"Mrs. Edwina, this morning Mr. Edgar announced the cancellation of the marriage to the Boone family, did you know that?"
"Mrs. Edwina, is it because of you that Mr. Edgar decided to cancel the marriage with the Boone family?"
"Mrs. Edwina, how do you feel about being the third party that broke Mr. Edgar's relationship with Mrs. Elva?"
"Mrs. Edwina..."
The questions were getting hairier and hairier, but Edwina wasn't listening to any of them, her mind was racing and all she heard were the words "Edgar announced the cancellation of the marriage to the Boone Family." He really had. How could he be so stupid?
He would have to face the scolding of his parents and the embarrassment of the Boone Family if this happened.
Was it really worth it to her?
Since she didn't say anything, a reporter raised his voice and asked, "Mrs. Edwina, as a third party, don't you have any feelings of guilt?"
Edwina came to her senses from the sharp voice and met the journalist's contemptuous gaze with a cold stare, "I have never been a third party!"
"Then can you prove that Mr. Edgar didn't do it for you?" the reporter continued to ask.
"Of course I can't. We're just friends. Please get out of the way."
But the reporters didn't let her off easy, and kept asking her tough questions.
Just as she was about to lose control, a large arm wrapped around her shoulders, protecting her and saying loudly, "You have the wrong person, Edwina was never a third person. Even if she had a relationship with Edgar, that is a thing of the past, she is now my girlfriend and has nothing to do with the cancellation of the marriage between The Terrazas family and The Boone family."
Edwina looked, surprised, at Edwards beside her.
Did he know what she was talking about?
And the reporters were stunned at his mastery of his oath of sovereignty.
The bodyguards moved in to draw the reporters away, and Edwards headed into the neighborhood with his arm around Edwina.
Along the way, many neighbors in the neighborhood cast questioning glances, but all recoiled from Edwards' powerful aura. Upon returning home, Edwards released Edwina and asked, "Are you all right?"
Edwina shook her head, "I'm fine, thank you."
"That's good."
Edwards smiled slightly, "Edgar really loves you, otherwise he wouldn't have announced to the public that the union was off."
Edwina was not happy, she walked over to the couch and sat down, sighing, "It's not worth it for him to do that. He'll face a lot of trouble if the union is called off so suddenly."
"That's true." Edwards nodded approvingly and added, "But at least it shows you he's determined."
"Mr. Edwards," Edwina turned her head to look at him, "I am not worthy of him."
"That's what you believe. In his mind, anything he does for you is worth it." Edwards could understand how Edgar felt.
If he could have had Edgar's determination back then, he and Constance would not have parted, much less become a lifelong regret.
Edwina bowed her head, "I don't want him to do it for me, I just want him to be happy."
"With you he's happy." Edwards stepped closer and smiled softly, "Edwina, he doesn't like Elva, there's no way he'll marry Elva."
"Is that so?" Edwina lowered her lips, "His parents would make the impossible possible."
Hearing that, Edwards frowned, "Is this your way of not believing in Edgar's determination?"
"It doesn't matter whether I believe or not." Edwina took a deep breath, "Now that I've decided to break up with him, I'm not going back. Y ..." She looked up at him, "I'm not your girlfriend now?"
Edwards froze, "That was just a momentary response."
"Now that you've said it, help me again."
The implication was that she wanted to use that as a reason to reject Edgar.
Despite Edgar's determination, there was nothing Dulce said that she agreed with.
She didn't dare gamble with Bonnie's safety.
Edwards reluctantly agreed, "All right, if only for your sister's sake, I'll do this favor or I'll do it."
"Thank you."
"You don't have to be so polite to me. I just hope you won't regret it when you do."
"Regret it?" Edwina laughed to herself, "How can I not regret it?"
From the moment she said she was going to break up, she already regretted it.
Meanwhile, Edgar watched the video online.
He heard the words Edwards said and his expression instantly sank.
Ivor, who was standing, felt the hardness emanating from him and didn't dare to breathe.
Edgar's dark eyes narrowed slightly as he saw Edwards enter the cell with his arm around Edwina and his large hand slapping the laptop. What was Edwards' intention?
Was he trying to take advantage of the situation?
"President, a reporter wants to interview you, see ..."
"Tell him to get lost!" Without waiting for Ivor to finish, Edgar interrupted him in annoyance.
Ivor lowered his head, "Yes."
Tapping his fingers on the desk, Edgar suppressed his anger, thoughtfully, and changed his tone, "I'll do the interview."
"Huh?" Ivor gaped.
The president had jumped the gun with this idea.
Edgar stood up, "Where's the reporter?"
"In the conference room."
Edgar walked briskly out and Ivor hurried after him.
As soon as he entered the conference room, the waiting reporters immediately stood up and put a smile on their faces. "Mr. Edgar, you've finally arrived." Edgar walked straight toward her, sat down on the couch opposite her and asked right away, "What do you want to interview?"
The reporter looked at Ivor and spoke cautiously, "It's about your cancellation from the union."
"Go ahead then, I'll answer everything."
At that point, the reporter was flattered and hurried to adjust the camera and begin the interview.
