Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1366: Get the Person
On the other end of the phone, Earlene was overjoyed and immediately said, "As long as they are really divorced, I will naturally release the person." Paulina frowned, "I already told you that Mark and I have already finalized our divorce."
She heard Earlene speak to no one in particular and it was a moment before Earlene's voice rang in her ears again.
"Send me a picture."
After saying that, without waiting for Paulina's reaction, she hung up the phone.
Paulina, as angry as she was, could only do as she told her, she took a picture of the divorce certificate she was holding in her hand and sent it to Earlene. After a while, her cell phone rang.
It was Earlene calling.
When she picked up, Earlene's voice came to her, "You're really divorced!"
Even through the receiver, you could hear her joy at having gotten her way.
"Haven't you seen the pictures?" Paulina spoke in a cold voice, "Can you release my mother now?"
"Of course ..." Earlene was about to say yes, but on second thought, fearing a deception, her voice changed and she said, "I still don't believe it, I want to see the divorce papers with my own eyes." The words fell out, and again, the phone was dropped without further ado.
Paulina hung up the phone, her face was extraordinarily ugly.
"Whatever she wants, do what she says." Marcos grabbed her by the shoulders.
Paulina gave him a sidelong glance and nodded her head to indicate that she knew.
Soon, Earlene arranged for two men to arrive at the civilian office.
"Marcos, please give me the divorce papers."
Marcos handed them to her just as he had been told.
As soon as the two men had the divorce papers, they left directly.
Marcos looked behind his back, his eyes narrowed slightly and a hint of suspicion arose in his heart.
These two men were in and out as fast as if ... Earlene was in J-town.
Marcos called Eliazar as soon as this occurred to him.
Once he got through, he said bluntly, "Investigate Earlene's whereabouts immediately. If I'm right, she should be in J-City." Paulina's face paled at that.
That crazy woman was in J-town!
"If she really is in J-City, then Mom should be in J-City too."
"But J-City is so big..." Paulina was worried.
"Eliazar is already being investigated, I'm sure the results will be in soon."
Marcos took her by the hand, "Let's go home first."
...
Back home, Paulina told Mr. Juan, Mrs. Gloria and the others what had happened.
"You say Earlene still doesn't believe you two are really divorced?". Bonita thought the woman was too suspicious.
"She needs to see the divorce papers before she believes it."
Paulina sighed, "My mother doesn't even know when she's coming back."
"Sister-in-law, don't be in a hurry. If that crazy woman backs out, in La familia Leoz we don't mess around, how can we let her intimidate us?". assured Bonita. "Is there any news about Eliazar?" asked Mr. Juan.
"Not yet." Marcos' brow furrowed slightly, "But he's getting closer."
With Eliazar's skills, he would soon be able to replace out where Earlene had landed.
As luck would have it, Eliazar called shortly after uttering his words.
"Earlene lives in a villa in the south of the city, and besides, Big Pauline's mother is there."
Eliazar's words were heard by those present.
Paulina was finally relieved to learn of her mother's whereabouts.
"Find a way to save her."
Marcos hung up the phone and turned to Paulina, "Don't worry, mom will be home soon."
Paulina said a soft "yes" and said nothing more.
She was confident that Eliazar would bring her back safe and sound.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side, Earlene received Paulina and Marcos' divorce papers.
She carefully examined the seal on them, fearing they were forgeries.
But, however she looked at it, it couldn't have been more authentic.
She should have been happy, but she felt uneasy, as if Marcos and Paulina were putting on a show for her.
They weren't really divorced.
The more she thought about it, the more she was wrong. She threw the divorce papers in her hands on the table and ordered in a stern voice, "Bring in the person who processed your divorce." When his men heard this, they froze, "Bring the person?"
"Yes, bring the person and hurry up!".
The man reacted, took his orders and left quickly.
Earlene looked at the divorce papers on the table, her eyes slowly narrowed.
Marcos, Marcos, if you lie to me, I will show no mercy!
The men she had sent burst into the Civil Affairs Office and grabbed the official who had been handling the paperwork without a second thought.
It happened so fast that the security guards arrived too late to stop them, and could only watch the people being taken away before they reacted to call the police. "Miss, the man is here."
Earlene turned only to see the staff member being held left and right by her men, with duct tape over his mouth.
She winked and her men immediately stepped forward to rip off the tape.
"Who are you people, what exactly do you want?" The man immediately asked loudly as soon as he was able to speak.
"Did you get a divorce for Marcos and the others?" Earlene asked, taking the floor.
"Yes, I did."
"Are they really divorced?" asked Earlene again.
The clerk thought it was ridiculous for her to ask this question, "Of course it's true, I did the paperwork myself, could it be false?" "Why don't I believe it?" Earlene scoffed, "You're not in cahoots with them?"
"Who am I in cahoots with?" The official looked anxious, "I don't even know them, how could I have been in cahoots with them?"
"If not, why are you getting so nervous?".
Earlene sat down on the sofa and raised her eyes, her warm gaze resting on the official.
"Can't I get excited when you bring me in for no reason, what the hell are you trying to do?"
"Tell me honestly, is it true that Marcos and the others are getting divorced or not?"
"Of course it's true, I have the steel seal, how can it be fake?". The civil servant was on the verge of tears, "Miss, please do me a favor and stop pestering me, will you." "It looks like you're not going to tell the truth until something is done."
Earlene winked at her men.
The man understood and stepped forward, grabbed the staff member by the lapels and brandished his fist in a gesture to strike him.
Seeing this, the staff member immediately shouted, "How can you hit someone? If you dare to hit me, I will call the police."
"Call the police?" Earlene sneered and, with a stern look, ordered, "Hit me! Hit him until he tells the truth about it!".
Before he could say anything else, a fist came down on him, making him dizzy.
"Stop, stop, it hurts me, it hurts me..."
Although he kept begging for mercy with his mouth, the other party kept hitting him unequivocally.
Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and shouted, "Stop hitting, I'll tell you whatever you want to know."
