Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1367: Suspected Kidnapping

As soon as Earlene heard this, she raised her hand to stop her men.

That hurt!

The officer rubbed his swollen cheek and winced.

"You'd better be honest or they won't let you off so easily next time!". Earlene deliberately lowered her voice in warning before he spoke.

"I'm telling you the truth..," the staff member looked at the people around him and continued, "I really don't know Mr. Ken well, and I only met them today for the first time.." "Are you still trying to lie to me!" Earlene scolded angrily.

"I'm not lying, I'm telling you the truth, every word!". She was about to raise her hand and curse.

"Hit me again!"

Hearing the order, several men surrounded him again.

The staff rushed to restrain his head.

Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang.

"Answer the door first."

Earlene rubbed her forehead in annoyance, not knowing what was wrong, there was always an uneasy feeling in her heart, as if something was about to happen. "Miss, it's the police!"

There was a shout of alarm and a dozen policemen rushed in.

Earlene jumped up, a little startled, and looked at the policemen in disbelief.

How could the police be here?

"Hold your head and duck!" a policeman shouted.

Everyone, except Earlene, rushed to hold their heads and duck.

"Are you Earlene?" the policeman in charge asked Earlene.

Earlene pushed the panic aside and calmly said, "I'm Earlene, I don't know what you're doing here, officers."

"Someone reported you for kidnapping and we came because we received a call to the police." He said pulling his ID out of his pocket, "I'm Officer Natal from the municipal police." Earlene scrutinized his ID and her red lips curved, "Officer Natal, you are making such a fuss, people who don't know would think there was a murder in this village..."

"I think if I had come later, there might have been a murder." Officer Natal looked meaningfully at the battered and bruised man standing to one side.

Earlene choked and was speechless.

"You are Officer Borrayo, from the civil service, are you not?" asked Officer Natal.

Officer Borrayo nodded busily, "Yes, I am Officer Borrayo. Comrade policeman, you need to take care of this!".

He pointed to his face and accused, "You have crossed the line, brought me here for no reason and even beat me up. They all need to be arrested."

"Take him to the hospital first." Officer Natal finished addressing those around him and looked at Earlene, "Ma'am. Earlene, I'm afraid I have to trouble you to come with us." "Why?" Earlene pretended to be confused.

Officer Natal frowned, "You are suspected of kidnapping and instigating a beating."

She denied it, "I didn't kidnap anyone, Officer Natal, don't put your finger on it."

"We'll replace out when we get to the police station."

Officer Natal had someone come over and take control of Earlene.

"What are you doing? Let go of me." Earlene broke away from them, lifted her chin and said with a cocky look on her face, "I can walk by myself."

...

When they arrived at the police station, Officer Natal sat down across from Earlene and began questioning her about the kidnapping.

"Someone reported that you were involved in a kidnapping, tell me what happened."

"I don't know anything."

No matter how much Officer Natal asked, Earlene would only respond with that one sentence.

Seeing how uncooperative she was, Officer Natal stood up and raised an eyebrow, "Since you won't say anything, I will have to detain you until the matter is investigated." With these words, Officer Natal walked away, leaving Earlene alone in the interrogation room.

Her face was grim and her eyes were shadowed.

If she was right, this had to have something to do with the Leoz family.

Did they think that because they had her in custody she could do nothing against them? That was very true.

She would never give up on Marcos.

...

"What, Earlene is in custody?" Rawlins heard the secretary's report and stood up in shock.

"It's a call from the J-town police station saying that the lady is a suspect in a kidnapping and has been temporarily detained."

"Why that's so disconcerting." Rawlins tugged at his tie, annoyed.

Rawlins took a deep breath and stifled his irritation, "Push back the schedule, I'm going to J-town."

With that, he grabbed his suit jacket, which was hanging on the back of his chair, and headed out the door.

When he reached his office door, he stopped and turned to his secretary, "Tell Attorney Javiero to escort me there."

"Yes."

The secretary responded and immediately pulled out his cell phone to contact his lawyer.

On the way to J-town, Attorney Javiero sat in the passenger seat and asked him intently about the situation, "Chairman, what's going on with the lady?"

"I don't know the details." Rawlins put a hand to his aching temples, "When we get to J-town, replace a way to get her out on bail, by whatever means." The idea of Earlene being detained did not sit well with him.

The Javiero lawyer nodded, "Yes."

Only when City J saw Earlene did Rawlins feel slightly relieved.

But Earlene merely shot him a cold glance and looked away, never looking at him again.

Rawlins felt a little helpless, he was here to help her, why was she still with that attitude?

"Officer Natal, we need to get someone out on bail." Attorney Javiero made the request.

"I'm afraid not." Officer Natal looked askance at Earlene, "She's a kidnapping suspect, it's a serious matter, and I'm sorry, no bail."

"How can bail not be granted?" Rawlins looked at Officer Natal suspiciously.

Earlene sensed something was wrong: "Did The Leoz family inform him in advance?"

"The Leoz family?" said Officer Natal with a startled expression, "What Leoz family are you talking about?"

Earlene scoffed, "Is there another La familia Leoz in J-Town?".

Officer Natal raised an eyebrow, "Ma'am. Earlene, you mean I'm secretly colluding with The Leoz family to make things difficult for you?"

Earlene just looked at him coldly and did not answer.

Officer Natal took a deep breath and his expression became serious, "Ma'am. Earlene, I'm just being official, I can't let you go until the kidnapping case is investigated." "No, Officer Natal, what proof do you have that my sister is actually a kidnapping suspect?" asked Rawlins.

Officer Natal turned his head to look at him, "She also kidnapped an officer to his home and instigated a beating by his men, she can't leave for a while just for that matter." "Can't there be any accommodation?" Rawlins' heart went out to Earlene, who had had her election spoiled and couldn't take this kind of aggression.

"Sorry, I'm just being professional."

Officer Natal's attitude was firm and there was no room for maneuver.

Rawlins could only comfort Earlene: "Earlene, don't worry, I'll replace a way to get you out on bail."
