Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1371: I want to see Mark.
Granny Bartram choked for a moment and spoke again with a straight face, "Anyway, your life was saved by Earlene, and for you to treat Earlene like this is simply wolfish and without any conscience whatsoever." "Old woman, that's a lot to say!" Mrs. Gloria was furious, she couldn't stand the thought of her son being talked to like that.
"I want to see Marcos! He's hiding, is he too weak to see me?". Grandma Bartram ignored Mrs. Gloria's questioning and looked around with her eyes, trying to replace Marcos.
Just then, a familiar voice came, "Old woman, it's not my turn to be weak-minded."
Hearing that voice, the old woman's heart skipped a beat and she looked up.
She saw Marcos coming down the stairs and walking towards her step by step.
It was the same Marcos she knew, except that his handsome face was expressionless and his gaze was cold.
The sense of oppression emanating from him could be clearly perceived.
Inexplicably, she was surprised that her heart fluttered a little at the thought of a minion, and her hands tensed unconsciously.
"Elder, if you are here to advocate for Earlene, I fear your efforts will be in vain." Mark stepped in front of her and spoke coldly.
At his words, the old woman cared nothing for him and spoke, "How can you do this to Earlene, you have forgotten how she feels about you."
Marcos' thin lips pressed into a straight line and he did not answer.
"Marcos, leave Earlene alone." The old woman's tone softened with a hint of pleading.
"She did it to herself." Marcos didn't flinch.
"You!"
A surge of anger surged through her and the old woman glared at him angrily.
Then, squinting her eyes slowly, she gritted her teeth and said, "Aren't you afraid that if I tell the world of your ingratitude, your The Leoz family will fall into disgrace and so will you?" "Are you threatening me?" Marcos' expression dropped a few notches.
"Heh." The old woman laughed, "I wouldn't dare threaten you, I'm just giving you a chance."
Alvaro couldn't take it anymore and scoffed, "You didn't admit my brother was from La familia Leoz when we went to ask you, so now you admit it?"
The old woman's face turned wonderfully green and white at the mockery of an underling.
"Both my brother's attitude and that of The Leoz family is the same, we will never forgive Earlene." Alvaro made things clear, lest the other party make a nonsense.
The old woman shot Marcos a deadly glare, "Are you really going to take things to the extreme?"
"Earlene has brought this on herself and deserves to pay for what she has done. As for the favor you speak of, I will repay you in another way." Marcos' voice lacked emotion. There was no more wiggle room.
The thought of his granddaughter facing jail sent a wave of anger straight to his head, and the old woman's eyes rolled back in her head and she fainted.
"Grandma!" Rawlins was horrified.
The Leoz family was also stunned.
"Quick, get someone to the hospital!" Mr. Juan was the first to react.
With the help of Marcos and Alvaro, they carried the old woman to the car.
Before getting into the car, Rawlins looked at them both and sighed softly, "Thank you."
Before getting into the car and putting it in gear to drive away.
"Brother, do you think the old lady can leave it like that?". asked Alvaro as he watched the car drive away.
Marcos' eyes narrowed slightly and a grimace played at the corners of his mouth, "She'll have to stop if she doesn't."
If the old woman had stopped Earlene in the first place, things wouldn't have come to this, and in the end, they had brought this on themselves.
...
At the first hearing of the case, no one from The Leoz Family was present, and the case was entrusted directly to the lawyers.
Earlene stared at the lawyer at the plaintiff's table the entire time, and if the lawyer hadn't seen many important scenes, she would have sat under his hateful gaze. "I want to see Marcos!"
Earlene suddenly shouted at the end of the trial.
The judge scowled at her.
"I said I want to see Marcos!" Earlene repeated her request.
The judge responded by shooting her a glare, ignoring her and leaving immediately.
"I want to see Marcos! I want to see Marcos ..."
As she was being led away, Earlene continued to scream, her voice deafening.
The Javiero lawyer, who was defending her, looked away uncomfortably and sighed inwardly.
Who would have thought that the Bartram family, who had always been so proud, would now replace themselves in such a state?
He glanced at the Leoz family attorney at the plaintiff's table, who was gathering his papers, and reflected.
As he was leaving the courtroom, Attorney Javiero stopped the attorney for The Leoz Family, who wanted to get into his car, "Attorney Millian, may I have a moment?" Attorney Millian looked at him with an expressionless expression, "Yes?"
"Nothing in particular, really." Attorney Javiero smiled awkwardly, "It's just that as you saw earlier, my lady is very eager to meet Mr. Marcos, I wonder if I could make an arrangement on her behalf." "The Leoz family has left everything in my hands, there is no way Mr. Marcos will come to see Earlene."
With that said, Attorney Millian opened the door and was about to get into the car.
"Wait a minute." Attorney Javiero stopped him again, "Attorney Millian, please, just relay my lady's message to Sr. Marcos."
Attorney Millian made no noise.
"Please, really."
Abogado Javiero's bitter plea flashed in his eyes and Abogado Millian thought for a moment and nodded, "Okay, I'll tell Mr. Marcos."
When he said yes, Attorney Javiero was relieved and thanked him repeatedly.
Attorney Millian gave him a look and turned to The Leoz Family to brief Marcos on the status of the case.
At the end, he looked at a puzzled Marcos and hesitated before speaking, "Mr. Marcos, Earlene was arguing in court to see you."
"She agreed?" Marcos' eyelids lifted slightly and his cold gaze settled on her face.
"How dare I." Attorney Millian tilted his head, "How dare I say yes without your permission."
Mark was silent for a few seconds, "Tell her I am not likely to see her, nor do I want to." "Yes."
Attorney Millian turned and prepared to leave.
"Wait."
He turned and looked at Marcos, "Mr. Marcos, what more do you want?".
Marcos pondered for a moment, "Tell him that Paulina and I are not divorced and tell him to die."
Attorney Millian nodded, "Fine."
Earlene returned to the guard house and was still crying and clamoring to see Marcos.
"I want to see Marcos, do you hear me? I want to see Marcos!" cried Earlene, hysterically.
The police were outside, staring coldly at her through the window in the door.
Earlene burst out laughing as she shouted, "Marcos, you people are so cruel! I can't believe you didn't even come to see me."
She had expected to see Marcos today, but she hadn't even seen Paulina, let alone him.
The thought of him being so ruthless and cruel to herself made her heart ache as if she were being cut with a knife one by one.
